	I got the inspiration for this after last night's snowstorm. Now, I know there's virtually no way this'll happen. I probably also will play a little bit with Yavin IV's geography a bit. However, I had to write this. Okay, I don't own Star Wars. If I did, there'd be a YJK cartoon series, an anime series and manga, an American comic book, a visual dictionary and RPG sourcebook along with a live-action series and movie. Unfortunately, George owns it. Here we go! ***** Snow Day Chapter One: The Cold Shoulder Jacen tossed and turned in his bed as morning approached. For some reason, he felt cold…which was impossible. This was Yavin IV, a jungle moon for kriff sake! Suddenly, a particularly nasty gust of wind blew through his window. He sat up and glanced at the window. That glance quickly turned into an openmouthed stare as something totally incomprehensible was happening outside. It was snowing. Big fat flakes were falling at a steady rate from thick gray clouds. Both the sun and the gas giant Yavin IV orbited were blotted out by the gray masses. Jacen's brown eyes widened in shock as a strong gust blew, sending a large drift of snow through his window. His ears quickly picked up the shouts of other students and instructors as they woke up to the spectacle outside. The door abruptly slid open, and a short young woman poked her head in. "Jacen? Jacen? Have you seen?" The young man ran his fingers through his tousled hair and pointed to a rapidly forming snowdrift on his windowsill. "Yes, sis. I see it. Now would you mind if I got dressed?" Jaina sighed and slammed the door shut, leaving Jacen an opportunity to run over to his closet and shrug a jumpsuit on over his sleeping clothes. Another gust of wind abruptly blew more snow in, forcing him to put on another jumpsuit. He looked in the mirror and ran his fingers through the unruly bird nest that was his hair. He took a few moments to freshen up before dashing out the door and to the nearest turbolift. He entered and pushed a button on the control panel, sending the car to the top of the Great Temple. The doors whooshed open, allowing him to enter the cavernous Grand Audience Chamber. He quickly spotted his friends Zekk, Tenel Ka and Lowie near the center. His twin Jaina was also there. He ran over and said. "Hey! Since when did we move the academy to Hoth?" Tenel Ka turned her head around. "We are not on Hoth, friend Jacen. We are still on the jungle moon. Although 'jungle' is probably not the appropriate word now." The warrior princess was only wearing a set of bright emerald lizard armor and ankle boots, leaving her long legs and muscular arms bare. She wasn't shivering, but Jacen could easily see rows of Goosebumps along her exposed flesh. Lowie, being a Wookiee, had a thick coat of fur that could protect him from the cold. Still, an occasional shiver shook the mighty being. He let loose with a series of growls and low roars. His belt-mounted translator droid M-TD quickly translated the Wookiee's speech. "Master Lowbacca simply has no clue what's going on, but he feels nothing…evil." The droid's eyes lit up in surprise. "Nothing wrong? Master Lowbacca, it's snowing out! How is that not wrong?" Jaina looked up at the stage and saw Luke Skywalker walk out. "Hey, there's Uncle Luke. He'll know what's going on!" The large group of Jedi trainees quickly sat down on the numerous stone benches as Luke stood before them. The Jedi Master motioned to the skylight and the gray clouds above. "As you might have noticed, it's snowing out." He stepped back and allowed his faithful astromech droid R2-D2 to wheel forward. The silver and blue droid extended a thin probe from his dome-shaped head. The device glowed and projected a hologram of the area surrounding the Great Temple. Luke stepped walked around the projection and pointed to a mountain range north of the ancient ziggurat. "A cold front swept in from the northern mountains. It was so rapid that snow was and is able to fall." R2's holo-projector shut down and the droid wheeled itself back off stage. Luke let a smile play across his features. "The snow will be gone by tomorrow morning, and unless you count Hoth, I've never really played in the snow." Tahiri Veila abruptly stood up and shouted. "Snow day!" The young blond looked up at Luke and began talking. "We'll have a snow day, right? Zekk told me about them because they would have them on Ennth during the winter season. They shut down the schools and some businesses because it got too bad out." Luke waited for Tahiri to breathe, then quickly spoke. "Yes, Tahiri. We're having a snow day. Go out and enjoy yourselves, but remember to dress warm. Hats, gloves, boots and heavy coats are in the supply room on the third floor. Now-" A snowball came sailing in from Luke's right and plastered the right side of his face. Everyone's vision tracked to the right and saw the thrower-Mara Jade-Skywalker. The redhead stood there with a sneaky grin on her face and another snowball in her gloved left hand. "Can't catch me!" She yelled before running off. Luke turned to his students and shouted, "Have fun!" before running off the stage in pursuit of his wife. Jacen turned to Tenel Ka and said. You got it! _3MD_PsychoSniper-Okay, dude! Calm down. Thanks for the support. Jaina_Rocks160. Hello. I saw you over in Trix's fic, Return of the Jedi. Yeah, this is just a fun fic. The angst level will be zero. Jedi_Liz-Thank you, thank you. Trix-Heh. Droids are fun. And thanks. Okay, this is a pretty short one due to work. Here we go! ***** Chapter Two: It Can't End! Mara double-timed it down the stairs, followed closely by Luke. She waited until she was at a bend in the stairwell, then let her other snowball fly. She was rewarded with a satisfying splat as the snowball hit Luke right in the face. She covered her mouth as laughter welled up from her. Then she dashed down the steps and out of the Great Temple. Luke stopped for a moment to wipe the slush from his face, then dashed into a supply room on the third floor. He shrugged on a coat, boots, a pair of gloves and a hat with big floppy ear coverings. He then dashed ran out of the Great Temple and down the stairs. Just before he I hit ground, his danger sense flared. He bent down, narrowly avoiding another snowball. He looked up and saw his wife there with a small pile of the deadly projectiles. "I hope you know what's coming." He said. Mara let a small pout cross her face. "Oh, come on! Revenge is of the Dark Side, remember?" Luke bent down and scooped up a mound of snow. He compacted it into a spherical shape, took aim and fired. Mara saw it coming and easily sidestepped it. "You'll have to do better-" The snowball abruptly curved back and smacked Mara right at the base of her neck. Luke then telekinetically opened the collar of her jacket just a smidgen, allowing icy cold water and slush to run down her back. Mara's face turned bright red as she hopped up and down, trying to get the slush away from her body. Luke let out a belly laugh at her antics, but when the redhead spun around, there was fire in her eyes. "Luke Skywalker, you are so dead!" She screamed. She picked up a pair of snowballs and hurtled them at Luke. The Jedi Master held up his arm and deflected the snowballs, allowing him to run over and tackle his wife to the ground. The pair rolled around for a bit before coming to a stop. The two lay there for a bit before Mara said. "Luke?" "Yes, dear?" "Your lightsaber is digging into my thigh." Luke got up and unclipped the offending cylinder from his belt. He then rolled onto his back and began waving his arms and legs in the snow, pushing the snow away from his body. Mara sat up and looked at him. "What are you doing?" She asked. Luke turned his head to the left and canted it up. "On Tattooine, we'd occasionally make sand angels. I figure snow angels would be nice as well." Mara nodded, then laid back and began imitating Luke. After a few minutes the pair stood up and admired their work. "Looks nice, farmboy." Mara said. Then with one smooth motion, she tugged open the collar of Luke's jacket and stuffed a handful of snow down his shirt. Mara ran off, not even bothering to look back as Luke ran after him. Here we go! ***** Jaina stood at the top of the hill and breathed deeply. She looked out over the expanse of white laid out before her. It resembled a duracrete runway, and would soon serve the same purpose. She knelt down and patted the side of a hulking slab of durasteel and said. "It's all set. The 'Solo snow sled' is ready for launch." She beamed at the hastily constructed 'sled' not unlike a new mother. She got up and pulled a set of flight goggles over her brown eyes. "Are you ready, Zekk?" Jaina's longtime friend rolled his eyes. His hands were tucked into his jacket pockets, and a smashball cap was sitting backwards on his mop of black hair. "Jaina?" "Yes, Zekk?" "You're crazy." Jaina scowled at him. "Hey! It took me ten minutes to retrofit this slab of hull plating into a galactic-class sled!" She patted the side of the sled-and accidentally broke off a thin bit of metal. She kicked it under the black hull and shifted under Zekk's gaze. Finally, a sly grin crossed her face. Zekk felt her confidence grow, but before he could say anything, Jaina spoke up. 'Zekk?" "Yes?" "If you don't get on, I'll tell Dad about the time we snuck out to the Gray Siders concert last year and you were almost pulled over by Coruscant PD." Zekk took all of one second to think about Han Solo learning about that before, "How do I strap in?" He situated his lanky frame in-between the curved sides of the sled, while Jaina plopped down almost into his lap. She cranked her head around and said. "You gotta give it a push." Zekk sighed. He mentally reached out and pushed with his mind. The sled tilted down, and Zekk realized that the hill was a lot steeper than it had first seemed. He looked around, but saw no straps. The sled lurched as the center of gravity crossed over the edge of the hill, pitching the nose of the sled down, pulling the rear up and sending the Solo snow sled shot down the snowy expanse. The cold wind whipped by Zekk's head, lifting and tossing his smashball hat clean off his head. Jaina let out a whoop as the sled picked up speed, narrowly missing a pair of half-buried tree stumps. Zekk could feel his knuckles turn white as his gloved hands latched onto the thin sides of the sled. Jaina saw two figures near the middle of the hill. It was Raynar and Lusa. She sat up and shouted. "GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!!!" Raynar, who was in the middle of making a snowman, looked up and saw what looked like a large missile headed straight for him. He therefore did what any self-respecting Thul would do; he screamed and ran away. Lusa simply backed up, well out of Jaina's line of fire. The sled shot past her-sending up a wave of slush and half-burying the young centaur. Lusa abruptly shook the slush off her equine body and stared at the land-bound missile as it chased Raynar. Raynar's cheeks quickly turned red as he tried to outrun the sled. It began bumping into his backside, forcing him to run even faster-or at least try. Jaina's short arms tried to grab him, but she couldn't reach him. Finally, Zekk leaned forward and grabbed Raynar's shoulders. With one smooth motion, he pulled the young 'man' into the sled-and onto Jaina. The young woman shrieked as Raynar hit her. "Get off me!" She yelled. Raynar, who was upside down and unable to right himself, merely said. "Oh, yes. And how do you propose I do that? I flunked levitation!" Zekk let a chuckle escape from his lips, prompting Jaina to turn and glare at him. By now, the sled was three-quarters of the way down the slippery slope and picking up speed by the second. Jaina was unable to steer due to Raynar's mass, and Zekk was unable to due to Jaina not actually putting in any steering mechanism. Raynar shouted at Zekk. "Zekk?" "Yes, Raynar?" "Jaina's crazy." "Yes, Raynar. I figured that out a long time ago. Five minutes after we first met, actually." He leaned to the side and saw three figures at the bottom of the hill-four if you counted a rather large snowman. A rapidly growing feeling of dread filled his being as he recognized Jacen, Tenel Ka and Lowie. "Jaina?" Jaina's reply was laced with venom. 'Yes, Zekk?" "You realize you're crazy, right?" "Zekk? I'm not going to the prom with you! And, yes. I realize that." Zekk swore under his breath even as the sled narrowly missed hitting their friends and demolished the large snowman, finally crashing into a large Massassi tree. Raynar finally extracted himself from Jaina's lap and stumbled out of the sled. "I think…I'm gonna hurl." He said just before passing out. ***** The next post won't be until Sunday.
