	The Song "here without you" belongs to 3 doors down. All characters and places belong to George Lucas. This is set between Traitor and Destiny's way. Jacen waited in his cell. He waited for Vegere to give him his next task; to give him something to do besides let him torture himself. The embrace of pain held nothing to the memory of her. A hundred days have made me older Since the last time that I saw your pretty face A thousand lies have made me colder And I don't think I can look at this the same But all the miles that separate They disappear now when I'm dreaming of your face Jacen flopped down onto his bed, another day of confusion another day of trying to figure out what Vergere wanted. Jacen knew what he wanted. He wanted her. He wanted to leave Corsucant and fly to whatever ends of the galaxy she was at. He wanted to tell her he was alive and that he had come back for her. She has no idea I'm alive, and for all I know she’s dead. He shook his head, no, she wasn’t dead; she was stronger than that. His weariness grew and he tried to shake away his tiredness. He didn’t want another night full of dreams of her, of nightmares of the cinnamon haired princess. I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight, it's only you and me Tenel Ka waited in her throne room. Another boring day of mundane tasks, she thought to herself. The galaxy was in the middle of a war, and she was stuck in a throne signing documents rather than fighting for the cause. Did I spend all those years at the Jedi Temple to not fight? She asked herself. She tried to change her train of thoughts; she didn’t want to think about it, about him, but the memories flooded in anyways. She smiled softly of the two of them, splashing around in the water, sparring, of the one kiss that they had shared. She shook her head, he was gone and there was nothing she could do about it. “Queen mother?” One of her aids startled her “Yes?” “Your next appointment in here.” “Send them in” send anyone in, she thought, anyone to get her mind off of Jacen, The miles just keep rolling as the people leave their way to say hello I've heard this life is overrated But I hope that it gets better as we go (oh yeah, yeah) I'm here without you baby But you're still on my lonely mind I think about you baby And I dream about you all the time I'm here without you baby But you're still with me in my dreams And tonight, girl, it's only you and me Jacen piloted the ship away from Yuuzhan’tar. He smiled at Vergere. He had learned his lessons and now he was going home to his parents, to his sister, to his friends, but mostly to her. He wanted to reach out to her, tell her that he was alive and well but he knew the moment wasn’t right yet. He didn’t know how her state of mind was; it might send her over the edge of insanity. He hadn’t had a chance to ask Ganner about her, about how she was, about what had happened to her. He sighed, I wonder if she has changed. I wonder if she will still want me. I wonder if she ever wanted me at all. He banished the thoughts from his head, I'm going home, and I'm going home to her. He smiled again. Everything I know, and anywhere I go It gets hard, but it won't take away my love And when the last one falls, when it's all said and done It gets hard, but it won't take away my love (whoa no) Jacen waited once again. Only a few more minutes, he kept telling himself. He was home and she was coming to him. He paced up and down the landing dock, stay clam, he told himself. After everything that’s happened, this is not the worst thing you have ever faced. She was a queen now, and he was just a Jedi knight. No, he told himself again, this was Tenel Ka; this was the girl you had grown up with. The ship softly landed and Jacen stiffened up. The boarding ramp came down and the Queen walked down the ramp. In a floor length shimmer green dress with all her curls pulled on top of her hair, Jacen had never seen a more radiant thing in his entire life. It was all worth it, he told himself, all the nights of dreaming of her, just to ser her standing before me know. Tenel Ka stood before him, afraid to touch him as he might shatter into a million pieces. “Jacen” she managed out with baited breath. Unable to keep himself anymore he grabbed her and hugged her so tight, he thought she might be unable to breathe. Twirling her around, her hair fell out of place and fell down around her shoulders, but Jacen couldn’t have cared less. “Oh my Jacen, I thought you were gone forever.” She sighed Putting her back on the ground, Jacen wrapped his hands around her cheeks. “I'm so sorry I didn’t tell you a million times before. I love you.” Jacen wiped the single tear rolling down her cheek away before kissing her with all the strength he had left in him. “Queen mother.” He heard someone say behind him and he felt Tenel ka pull away from him. Staring at her aid, she wanted to kill her. How dare she ruin her moment with Jacen, but she was the Queen and killing aids was highly discouraged. “Yes?” “You have to meet with the Council” Tenel Ka nodded; looking back at Jacen she gave a halfhearted smile before pulling away from him and walking to her attendant. She felt Jacen watching her every move as she went. As she headed towards the door, she gave one last look at Jacen and smiled. I can't have a story of any sort without some stupid funny line in there or it wouldn't be right. A really nice songfic. When i thought of this song, it just fit those two so well i couldn't pass it up. I also loved the part about killing aids. 	Part Two: the song Right here waiting for you belongs to Richard marx. Jacen unfroze as he watched Tenel ka walk out the door. “Tenel Ka” He yelled after her. Running he swung the door open and grabbed her hand and twirled her to face him. Looking into her pale green eyes he lost his nerve for a moment. “What is it Jacen?” she asked politely “I’ll be waiting for you,” He told her a halfhearted smile on his face She nodded and headed towards the council Oceans apart day after day And I slowly go insane I hear your voice on the line But it doesn't stop the pain If I see you next to never How can we say forever Jacen walked on eggshells for the next three days. She had left again to go back to Hapes. All she had left him was a short note saying her kingdom needed her. But I need her, he though to himself. Spending his days with Danni Quee was simply to bide his time, doing anything he could to keep his mind off his princess. “She’s coming back you know” Jacen looked up at the brown eyes of his sister. “Yeah, I know for the knighting ceremony.” He said feebly “She loves you, you know.” Jaina flopped down on the bed next to him. “No one was more distraught than she was when we thought you were dead.” Jacen tried to smile at his sister “Its not that she doesn’t love me, its that she’s a queen now and I’ve changed. I think it’s the change that scares her.” “Well then show her that you’re not all that different” she told him Wherever you go Whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks I will be right here waiting for you He waited, hoping for the right chance. She was back on Mon Cal but he hadn’t been able to get near her. Every time he visited her suite four bodyguards would say she was busy and couldn’t be interrupted. This time she was in a meeting with the council again. Jacen shook his head, you’d think being the son of princess Leia and Han solo would get you some sort of leeway with seeing people, he thought to himself. But not my princess, she’s more kept away than an exotic pet. Jacen sulked back to his room again. Keying the entrance he walked inside to see a holomessage beeping at him. Turning it on, His red head angel popped up onto the screen. “I am sorry I have not been able to see you Jacen. Work has kept me busy, but I hope to see you at the Knighting ceremony. I shall be leaving the next day.” She gave a worrisome smile. “Goodbye Friend Jacen” The message fizzled out in front of his eyes. I took for granted, all the times That I though would last somehow I hear the laughter, I taste the tears But I can't get near you now Oh, can't you see it baby You've got me going Crazy Tenel Ka sulked in her suite. She was queen know and hating it more than ever. Stuck in meetings all day and busy preparing for her official inauguration, she sighed. All she wanted to do was spend time with Jacen and her friends. Oh Jacen, she thought, I wish I could be with you swimming in the lake on Yavin 4. She was avoiding him, but she didn’t have the heart to tell him why. She didn’t know how he would react if he found out that Hapes was trying to marry her off. She didn’t want to admit it to him either. Secretly she was hoping she could persuade the council into letting her marry on her own when she was ready and to whom she wished. But she knew she had little more than a fool’s hope for that. Why would he want to marry you anyways, the nagging voice in her head told her. You’re a queen why would he want all that responsibility for you. Plus have you seen the Holonews, he’s been with that pretty scientist Danni Quee, what would he ever want you for? Tenel ka forced the thoughts out of her head; Jacen did love her, and had always loved her. She sighed into her bed and let the void of exhaustion take her Wherever you go Whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks I will be right here waiting for you Jacen stood in the corner as his princess talked to some dignitaries that were congratulating her on becoming a Jedi knight. Seizing the opportunity he walked up behind her and softly whispered “Want hear a joke?” Tenel ka laughed as she turned around to face him. “Friend Jacen, that would be a honor.” She smiled for him Taking her hand he led her out onto the dance floor. “So hrmmm a joke. Have you heard the one about the Rancor?” Tenel Ka looked at him sideways. “I guess so.” He mumbled Tenel laid her head on his shoulder and sighed. “What is it, beautiful?” he asked her. Tenel pulled away and led him out onto one of the balconies “I have some news Jacen.” She looked at the ground. Stay strong Tenel, its just Jacen, She told herself, it is Jacen her brained countered. “The council on Hapes is trying to arrange a marriage for me.” She blurted out A wave of shock overtook Jacen’s face, never would he have thought of Tenel Ka being married and he certainly never thought to anyone but him. “Who is he?” he asked “They haven’t decided yet. There looking at several princes of planets from the consortium.” She looked down at her shoes. Jacen lifted her face to look at him and smiled “Don’t worry princess, If I have to kill everyone of them and kidnap you, your not marrying anyone but me.” He chuckled She kissed him softly on the cheek. “That’s a good joke, friend Jacen.” She sighed, “I have to go a Queen can not disappear for too long.” She slipped past him. Grabbing her hand slightly he stopped her. “No matter how long it takes, Tenel ka, I will always be waiting for you.” I wonder how we can survive This romance But in the end if I'm with you I'll take the chance Oh, can't you see it baby You've got me going' crazy Tenel ka left the next day and Jacen waited to hear from her. Checking the Holonet every night he waited to see whom Hapes was going to marry his angel off to. He went stir crazy waiting to see what they were going to do. Finally he had had enough. Tenel Ka announced the grand chamber on Hapes once again. All the delegates sat there arguing about whom she was going to marry. “Council members please, I am Queen mother I should have the right to marry whomever I choose!” she yelled out at them but her pleas fell on deaf ears. The council doors swung open to the right of her, a lightsaber was deflecting bolts as the man rushed into the council. Closing the doors behind him and holding them shut with a curtain rod he had grabbed from the window beside him. Jacen ran up to the stage in front of all the delegates. Grabbing Tenel ka he kissed her with all the furry and anger and passion he had held up inside for the last month. The council went silent as they watched the events unfold. Tenel ka snaked her arms around his neck as he held onto her waist for dear life, both knowing that someone would be dragging them apart shortly. Tenel pulled back slightly and looked into Jacen’s eyes with tears shimmering. “I was waiting for you,” she whispered Wherever you go Whatever you do I will be right here waiting for you Whatever it takes Or how my heart breaks I will be right here waiting for you Please Review my poor fragile ego needs it -----signature----- ~* *~ It's like Star Wars, if it was on the WB- Josh

	Spending his days with Danni Quee was simply to bide his time, doing anything he could to keep his mind off his princess. Gods! I love that!!!! I'm not all to terribly fond on Danni Quee. Jacen deserves someone so much better than that...i.e. Tenel Ka!!
