	Alrighty then people, this is my first fic in quite a while, i've been writing stuff off and on, but this is the first one i've posted in a long time. I hope you all like it. This is going to have some songfic's intertwined with it so you know, so at a certain point in any chapter they'll be a line in some color that says where the songfic would begin or at least occur in. Anyway, here's Chapter 1 and i hope you enjoy it. Prodding the Hurricane Chapter 1: Purple met blue with a hot intensity as the pair of lightsabers clashed against each other time after time, the sabers hissing and the two women wielders panted heavily. The focused brown eyes of the older woman locked onto the sharp blue eyes of the younger combatant and with a blur they were staring at long blonde hair, mostly put up in a braid. The older woman, with her purple lightsaber had flipped over her younger opponent and swung striking the blonde girl in the right hip. The girl gave a cry as she reached down and touched where she was struck and turned to face the person who had beaten her. “That hurt!” complained the teenage girl as she switched off her lightsaber, blue blade disappearing in an instant. “That’s nothing compared to what you would feel if we were fighting for real,” Jaina told her as she also switched off her saber. The young girl shrugged and grinned, “That’s why I’m not your enemy Master Solo.” Jaina laughed and put her arm around the girl’s shoulders and walked with her out of the room, “Always good to know Allya. Oh, and Allya, you don’t have to call me Master Solo, Jaina is fine.” Allya smiled, “I like calling you Master Solo, get used to it.” She winked and walked with the young Jedi Master out along the Jedi Academy of Yavin Four. Jaina shook her head and left Allya at the front of the Academy, where she had run into some friends. Friends, always good to have friends, she thought to herself as she came upon Kyp Durron. “Hello Jaina, how was your session with Allya?” he asked curiously, his green eyes trained on her. Jaina smiled and answered him, “Oh you know how it is with Allya.” “Intense?” “Oh yeah.” “Top prospect in my opinion. She’ll be a great jedi knight.” “Prospect? When did this become a sport? But, yes, she will be a great jedi. But she needs to focus more on the living force, she mostly just focuses on her saber skills. I heard she bested you,” Jaina smirked. “Not true, I let her win, to boost up her confidence a little,” Kyp replied. “Yeah, sure. If she really did best you, I want to see you go up against young Jari.” “That ewok?” came a soft voice from behind Jaina. She looked and saw it was Tahiri. “Yeah.” “Well, I’m not sure I’ll give you the pleasure of seeing that match up then Jaina,”Kyp said “Chicken,” laughed Jaina. Kyp shook his head and began to walk away, “Well, I’ll see you two later, I have a meeting with your uncle.” “See you around Kyp,” Tahiri and Jaina said together. When he was gone, Tahiri leaned against a small railing and tossed back some blonde hair. Jaina stood and folded her arms, watching her friend, while smelling her own sweat. She’d have to take a shower in a little bit. “Yes Tahiri?” she asked. “How are you doing Jaina?” Tahiri replied cutting straight to the chase. “How am I doing? What do you mean? I’m doing just fine Tahiri,” she said flatly feeling a breeze pick up. “You know what I mean Jaina and I’m just checking in on you, I’m your friend.” Jaina sighed, of course she knew what was meant. Jag. She wanted to know how she was doing ever since his death on that training mission... She held back some tears and said unconvincingly, “I’m fine.” Tahiri looked at her, opened her mouth to speak, but closed it and shook her head. “Ok.” Jaina nodded, “I think I’m going to go take a shower now.” She turned and left without so much a backward glance at Tahiri. She knew that was rude, but she couldn’t hang around if the topic was to be about Jagged...oh how she missed him! As she briskly walked along the temple toward her quarters she noticed some people looking at her with some concern in their eyes, she felt it as well. Kriff! I must be showing my emotions again...come on Jaina, you’re not supposed to do that! She continued to her quarters, flung open the door and dashed inside. After shutting and locking the door, she undressed and stepped into the shower, tears streaking down her face as flashes of Jagged Fel came to her. “Uh...hello? Wake up Zekk,” came the stern voice of Corran Horn as he waved his hand in front of Zekk’s green eyes. Zekk blinked a few times and looked up at Corran, Luke, Raynar, and Han. They looked back at him, a smile playing at their lips. “Day dreaming eh kid?” Han asked. Yeah, about your daughter...Zekk thought, but he didn’t dare say that, not to Han Solo. Wise choice too, he thought. “Yeah, sort of,” he replied tiredly. Luke nodded and went back to explaining about the needed defenses of the Jedi Academy. They all came up with ideas and bickered every now and then. “I mean, why do we need more defenses for Yavin Four right now anyway Luke? It’s been months now since the war and the Vong have settled down. We have no enemies and no threats right now,” Han said. “That may be so, but we never know if the Yuuzhan Vong will do a little retaliation, like a terrorist attack or something. And there is always enemies Han, remember Jag?” Luke replied evenly. A small silence was the response before Raynar turned to the aging Solo. “How is Jaina doing?” he asked softly. Han sat in a chair disgruntled and sighed, “She’s fine. She has her ups and downs you know, I believe she is starting to move on, but every once in awhile she just has her moments. The best thing is to not bring up the subject.” “Well, she just had one a few moments ago Han,” Zekk whispered. Han glanced at him and he shrugged. “You sensed it huh?” “Sure did.” “Spying on my daughter Zekk?” “No, just happened to feel it, it was quite strong actually. Hard not to notice it.” “I agree, I felt it as well Han,” Luke stepped in. Han nodded and patted Zekk on the back. “Don’t have to look panicked every time I tease you about Jaina you know.” “I wasn’t panicked.” “Uh huh, sure kid. Well it’s been nice, but I have a meeting with Leia and some high up officials or something about Coruscant.” They said goodbye and Han left the room. Raynar clasped his hands behind his back and stretched. “Master Skywalker, Luke, I think we should talk about apprentices now.” “Good idea Raynar. Have you been watching the classes lately? I think Zev Dorgan is showing incredible skill in the force.” Luke said, beginning the discussion. Corran laughed, “I can feel that Luke, he’s concentrating on moving some trees right now.” “Trees?” Zekk asked bewildered, “I don’t remember moving trees when I was his age.” “Well you never thought of doing it,” Luke said chuckling. “True...” “I think he just succeeded in moving the tree,” Raynar said a grin appearing. “Yeah, with Jari in the tree at the time,” Corran laughed. “Kids will be kids,” Luke shrugged. Zekk laughed with them then thought about Jari, the young ewok jedi knight-to-be. Feisty little thing, he mentally laughed to himself. “Hey, talking about Jari. Have any of you seen that little guy with a lightsaber? I’ve never seen anything move that fast...well besides Mara and you Master Luke,” Zekk informed them. “Jari is incredible I agree Zekk, I can’t wait to see what kind of Jedi Knight he’ll make in the future,” Luke mused sitting down. “Haven’t had the pleasure of watching him yet,” Corran said leaning against a wall, “only passed him through the halls.” “You should watch him,” Zekk said. As they talked of all the younger apprentices, Zekk’s mind wandered back to Jaina, he focused on her and sensed she was finally calming down again. He smiled, that was good. He began to day-dream of her as the others were talking and didn’t snap out of it until a playful scream emitted through the walls and the sound of running feet went by, followed by what sounded like hundreds of more feet going by. “What the heck is going on there?” Corran asked bemused. “That would be Katarn running from the young ones again I believe,” Luke laughed. “Not a fan of kids I see,” Corran said. They looked out a window into a courtyard where, sure enough, Kyle Katarn ran by, arms waving madly in the air, as a small group of children chased after him, led by a slightly bigger child waving a low-powered green saber. “That’s going to be a leader all right,” Raynar murmured and they all laughed at Kyle’s expense. Zekk stood up and nodded his head, “Well, I’m going to go now and take a walk.” Luke shook his hand, “See you later Zekk.” -----signature----- Brittnee My love, my life Getting married to spacelady on 8/22/09 "Ichigo! 	Hey, great job! 	If the Sith was smart he'd forget appearance and actually concentrate on the fight, so serious. If you ask me, Yoda was quite comical, yet Sith took him serious because he was an enemy(and a powerful one at that). And thank you for liking it Niff!
