WELCOME TO THE JAINA/JAG CHALLENGE THREAD!
The challenge will be taking place from August 28 to September 11 (Midnight board time). That gives you all two weeks, so make the most of them!
Your story must explore this idea:
Jaina and Jag haven't seen each other in six years. Not since he was assigned back to the Unknown Regions at the end of the war. Now their paths have crossed again, and they have some things to work out...
You can take this in any direction you want: romance, action, drama, angst, etc. Have fun!
It can be no longer than 2500 words. We know that's short, but hopefully this will keep the time we spend judging shorter.
You will be judged on the following criteria:
Grammar/spelling
Believability
Originality
Characterizations
Overall impression
You must post your story before September 11, Midnight Board Time.
There is a limit of three stories per author.
Good luck, and start writing!

Here's my attempt. It'll probably get changed 30 times before September 11th, but this is it for now...

Crossing Paths
***
Jaina Solo sat, doing her best to look interested with the conversation at the table. There were seven other dignitaries and representatives seated at her table, and there must have been a hundred tables like that filling the Great Hall of the Hapan palace. They had been gathered here on Hapes by invitation from Queen Mother Tenel Ka herself to celebrate the 6th anniversary of end of the Yuuzhan Vong War. Tenel, an old friend of Jaina’s whom she hadn’t seen in years, was her usual resplendent self, regal and glittering as she greeted her guests. She made a good queen, although she hadn’t initially wanted the crown, and Jaina knew she had settled into her role very well and was loved by her people.
Jaina was seated at a table with two Twi’leks, a Rodian and 4 stuffy individuals from some Core planet, who droned endlessly on about economic growth since the end of the war. Excluding her tablemates, Jaina thought the affair sparkled. There was hundreds upon hundreds of beings present, mingling and socializing with everyone and celebrating the success the GFFA had had in the Reconstruction. She tugged at the cinches of her rich midnight blue dress - the corset she’d been forced to wear was beyond way too constricting - and found an old memory of a certain young, dashing Chiss pilot she’d met so long ago. She let herself reminisce for a moment, a smile blossoming on her face at the thought of Jagged Fel. They had been at a banquet similar to this but much more scaled down, and she’d flirted shamelessly with him. She had been shocked that he’d flirted right back, and had found herself intrigued by a new side of the usually frozen pilot. She’d taken his hand when he’d offered it, and had no idea as to where that night would have led if they hadn’t been interrupted by Ta’a Chume. Kyp Durron had whisked her away to Anakin’s funeral before she could find Jag again, but somehow the Force had thrown them together repeatedly and they made quite the duo. They’d loved each other without abandon - it had been a war after all, every moment could have been their last - but she hadn’t heard from him since a holo shortly after he’d left Zonama Sekot.
I wonder how he’s doing…
she thought, watching as Tenel Ka led the traditional first dance with her father.
She gave up trying to adjust the laces, wishing she hadn’t let Tenel talk her into wearing a dress instead of her formal Jedi robes. The dress Tenel had had designed for her was exquisite, but highly impractical. It clung to her in all the right places, revealing her figure tantalizingly, with a plunging neckline and thin halter top straps, flaring out slightly at her hips. It was made of a shimmersilk material that clung to her legs, revealing their shapely length when she walked - and she figured Tenel had it made that way so she wouldn’t be able to hide a holster or lightsaber in a thigh holster because you’d be able to see. It was strictly a peaceful celebration. “It would have been much more comfortable,” she muttered under her breath.
“No doubt, but you look lovely all the same,” a voice responded. Her eyes widened - she knew that deep voice, that voice from her past - and her head whipped around to see none other than Jagged Fel standing before her, a very subtle smile on his face. Obviously he had remembered their last banquet on Hapes as well, using the same line.
She should have known the Chiss would be at this celebration. She stared at him, dumbfounded as she took in his image. He hadn’t aged much - still had that roguish twinkle in his pale green eyes when their eyes met, sending a jolt of electricity down her spine. Jaina felt the same blush she’d battled over seven years ago creep up her face and neck, and she tore her eyes away from his to inspect the rest of his figure. His black formal uniform was impeccable as always -
he still looks damn good in black
she noted with satisfaction as she eyed him. His posture slightly relaxed, his dark hair perfect and the white lock falling over his scarred brow, his supernova Force presence unreadable as always.
“May I have the honor of a dance, Jedi Solo?” he said formally, extending a hand.
Still speechless, she placed her hand in his and allowed him to lead them to the wide polished dance floor where other beings were dancing as well. Jag took her right hand in his, his left hand going to rest on her side. She placed her left hand on his shoulder, letting him draw her closer as he led them in a simple waltz. For a few more heartbeats, she was entranced with his eyes, so familiar and now gazing warmly into hers. Originally, she had been too stunned to speak, but now she was afraid to speak for fear of breaking the moment.
Jag must have been thinking the same, for he was content just to just dance with her, and hold her in his arms. However, after several moments, he broke the easy silence.
“How have you been, Jaina?” he asked softly. “It’s been a long time.”
“It has,” she agreed equally as quiet. “I think we should find someplace more private to talk, Jagged.”
He tipped his head once in acknowledgement, releasing his loose hold on her waist and guiding them from the dance floor, dodging multiple swirling and spinning beings. She felt another flash of nostalgia as they worked their way towards the massive doors on the sides of the hall, and half expected Ta’a Chume to show up again and ruin their moment. However, there was no former Queen Mother in sight in the dimmed hallway, and they walked hand-in-hand. Jaina pulled him out a doorway and into a dark garden, drawing him with her as she picked her way past numerous shrubberies and plants to a bench in the shadows of a high wall. She sat down, and Jag sat opposite of her, releasing her hand. She narrowed her eyes as she inspected his face again, before raising her hand and slapping him hard.
To Jag’s credit, he didn’t even wince as she put as much power behind her open palm, connecting solidly with his cheek. He gently fingered the sore spot - Jaina could see it reddening in the dim moonlight, and to her surprise, gave her a small half smile. Her eyes widened as she realized what she just did.
“I - I- I’m sorry,” she stuttered. “I didn’t - I mean I wasn’t - I -”
He held up his other hand to silence her. “It’s alright. I figured I had it coming.”
She flushed under the pale moonlight. “So you predicted I would slap you?”
“Would you slap me again if I say yes?” Jag teased.
Jaina grinned, her embarrassment and awkwardness fading away. ”I don’t know what came over me,” she explained.
“Forget about it. How have you been, Jaina? I have missed you,” he said sincerely.
“I’ve missed you too, Jag,” she answered, thinking back on the past six years. “I’ve been pretty good. Busy with Jedi stuff. And you have you been, Mr. Liaison?”
“Busy with liaison stuff,” he smirked slightly. “The Chiss keep me running all over the galaxy. I thought I would see you more often.”
“It’s been what, six years?” she mused.
“Six years, two months, three days and seven hours approximately. Not that I’ve been counting,” he deadpanned with a trademark subtle Fel grin.
“I think it’s closer to eight hours, Jag,” she joked back, gracing him with a grin. She gathered her wits about her, and proceeded with caution. “So, tell me, how has the love life of Jagged Fel fared in these last six years? Have you found The One?”
His small smile seemed to falter for a moment, and Jaina was suddenly afraid he would tell her he had a girlfriend - or worse yet, a wife. Six years was a long time for anyone. He looked away, refusing to look directly at her as he contemplated his thoughts.
“I have,” he answered simply, after a long pause. Jaina‘s heart sunk. She knew this was too good to be true. Of course he would be happily married by now. He was quite the catch - she was an idiot to let him go. He continued, “I loved this one woman, and I think we were in love, but then our careers got in the way of our relationship…but I haven’t really seen her since. So I guess not. What about you? Surely you‘ve got men in every spaceport waiting for you.”
Jaina’s heart sped up, and she was sure that Jag could hear the pounding of her heart. “Not really. There was one man that I think I really loved, but I’m afraid I may have made him wait too long. I’m afraid he didn’t have as much patience as I thought he had, that he won’t return. You see, he promised me he would never leave me, but I’m afraid he already has.”
“If he truly loves you, he would wait for you forever. I cannot imagine anyone would want to let you go once they caught you. Have you told him how you felt?”
“I don’t know,” she admitted, folding her hands in her lap and looking down at them. “I think I’m afraid. Right now, I’m afraid of rejection. I was afraid of commitment before, and afraid of being loved, and afraid of loving, but I think that’s what I want now. I’m ready now. Maybe I’ll have to tell him.”
“Maybe,” Jag agreed. They paused for several long moments. “You’ve changed so much, Jaina.”
“So have you. I think we all have.”
“I know, but…” Jag hesitated, something out of character for him. He leaned forward, tilting her face to look at him and tucked a loose tendril of hair behind one ear, slowly dragging his fingers along the smooth skin of her cheekbone as he did. She shivered involuntarily, partly from the look in his shadowed green eyed gaze and partly from his electrical touch, which seemed to light her skin on fire. Her breathing was quickening, and she found herself unable to look away. “I can tell; you’re different. The way you carry yourself, the attitude you exude, the way you smile, it’s all changed. It’s like looking at you in a new light, or a new person.”
“Is this good, or bad?” she questioned with a smile.
He smirked slightly. “I think it’s good. Based on what I’ve seen, I think I like the new Jaina Solo even better than the old one.”
Her smile faded, and she reached for his right hand, taking it in both of hers. She held his gaze as she pursed her lips. “Jag, if you think that you can walk in after six years and expect me to just fall head over heels for you again-”
Which, believe me, I already have…
“No, I don’t,” he interrupted, his gaze falling to their joined hands, an unidentifiable emotion flickering across his face. “I was just hoping for your friendship.”
She turned his face back up to hers with, gently savoring the feel of his warm skin against the coolness of her palm. “Let me finish,” she pleaded. “You can’t just walk in after six years and expect things to go back to the way they were. I don’t want things to go back to the way they were.”
She had a rare glimpse of insight into his emotions from the Force. A brief but powerful ripple of pain had shot through the man sitting next to her, and she quickly tried to explain. “Jag, you were in love with a lost and confused girl. She hadn’t grown up yet or learned how to live. For the longest time, I sought some sort of peace after the war, always looking and searching for it. I never slowed down enough to realize I didn’t need to find peace, I just needed to accept what had happened and move on. I did. Before, I had tried to find some sort of closure through you, and I had fiercely depended on you to be my constant. We had a frantic love, forged by war and fueled by desperation. I don’t want that. That is why we can never go back to the relationship we once had, we can‘t pick up where we left off.”
He tipped his head once, casting his eyes downwards again. “I understand.”
“I think you misunderstand me,” she added. “Jag, I don’t want our old relationship. I want a new one. I want to start fresh. You yourself said I’ve changed. So have you. You were in love with the old Jaina Solo, but now the new one would like the chance to make you fall in love with her. She’s already fallen for you. Can we restart, Jag? If I have to, I’ll get down on my knees and beg for another chance to earn your love.”
His spirit seemed to brighten, and his eyes seemed to sparkle with a renewed hope. “Jaina, you never had to earn my love. It has always been yours.”
He raised their still joined hands to his lips and placed a tender kiss on the top of her hand.
“Jag,” Jaina breathed, completely mesmerized by his actions.
“When I knew I would see you tonight,” he started softly, warm breath tickling her hand. “I knew that we both had changed, and I was afraid that we would have grown so far away from what we had been. I couldn’t predict how you would react, but I don’t think I could have picked a better reaction than a slap.”
She blushed furiously as he looked up and gave her that small grin of his. “Hey, it beats the bantha out of Force-lightning,” she teased.
“That it does,” he agreed solemnly.
“You know, I gave you that slap because I was mad at not seeing you in so long, but what I didn’t give you was something to show you how much I’d missed you.”
“Oh?” he asked, feigning ignorance. “What might that be, Jedi Solo?”
“This,” she explained before pulling his mouth to hers. Their lips met forcefully, each returning the other’s fervor and desperation without restraint. She sighed beneath his mouth, parting her lips under his as she snaked her arms around his neck. Their tongues dueled passionately, tasting and remembering what they had forgotten. His arms wound around her waist, pulling her body closer to his. They both broke reluctantly, gasping for breath.
“Good start,” Jaina quipped.
“Very good,” he agreed, capturing her lips again.

RE: Jaina/Jag Challenge Thread
Here's my try. I don't know how good it is, though. I just came up with it this morning.
~~~~~~
Jaina Solo sat on her bed, rereading the note that had just come from the Unknown Regions.
Dear Jaina,
I know this letter is probably a surprise. I haven’t heard from you in six years. My father has kept me here, tracking down the remnants of the Drak’kla, a species that has been making war on us.
I don’t know what you still feel about me, but I would like to meet, and talk. Even if you no longer have feelings for me, I’d like to put our history to rest. I’m coming to Mon Calamari the week before the Senate meeting. Will you be there? Please write me back.
Sincerely,
Jag
Jaina sighed. She had no idea what to do. She had a life now, a life that didn’t involve him. Hadn’t involved him since he’d left six years ago.
“Why are you doing this to me?” she whispered.
“Why is who doing what, sweetheart?”
Jaina looked up, surprised. “Zekk,” she said with a smile.
Zekk smiled at her. “Surprised?”
“Yes. You’re home early.”
Zekk sat down next to her on the bed. “The meeting didn’t take as long as I thought it would. Jacen’s wonderful at leading these things.”
“He gets it from Mom.”
Zekk lifted her left hand and kissed her ring finger, upon which rested a diamond engagement ring. “I can’t wait until the wedding,” he whispered. “Are you sure we can’t elope?”
Jaina smiled. “It would break my mother’s heart if we didn’t have a huge wedding.”
Zekk kissed her lips softly. “Who’s the letter from?”
Jaina had forgotten about the letter she was holding. “An old friend,” she said evasively. “I’ve really missed you, Zekk.”
“I’ve missed you, too. Are you busy?”
“I am now,” she said with a smiled, and pulled him in for another kiss.
******
Jaina looked at the sleeping man beside her. She loved Zekk with all her heart. The feelings she’d had for Jag were long gone. Weren’t they?
You loved him,
a voice at the back of her head whispered.
She had loved him, but he’d left, and she’d never seen him again.
He left because you said that you didn’t want a relationship. He would have stayed.
Jaina sighed. She was going to be married in two months. This was no time to be remembering former loves. She shouldn’t meet him, or write.
Even if you no longer have feelings for me, I’d like to put our history to rest.
Did he love her? He couldn’t, or he would have come back a long time ago. But putting the past in the past did have appeal. She could finally let go of any feelings she might have for him.
But I don’t have any. Still, we can tie up any loose ends.
Jaina got out of bed and slipped a robe on. She left the bedroom and went to her holocomlink. She hesitated for a minute before punching in his number.
She realized that she was wearing her engagement ring, and slipped it off. She didn’t want him to see it. Not yet.
A beautiful woman with blonde hair and blue eyes answered the holocomlink. “Hello?” she asked uncertainly.
She must be his girlfriend or something. Bad move, Solo. You should have just written.
“Hi. I’m sorry, I was calling to talk to—”
“Jag.”
“Excuse me?”
“You called to talk to Jag. You’re Jaina Solo.”
How does she know my name? Jag told his girlfriend about me? Wait, she’s not his girlfriend, she’s . . .
“Wyn.”
Wynssa Fel smiled. “Yes. Jag’s not here right now. Would you like me to tell him you called?”
Jaina knew what her unspoken words were.
Would you like me to not tell him to avoid embarrassment in case he doesn’t want to talk to you?
The young woman was very perceptive.
“Could you just tell him that I’ll meet him when he gets to Mon Cal?”
Wyn smiled. “Sure. Will you say hello to your brother for me?”
Jaina remembered that Jacen had met Wyn once, when he’d gone to Csilla looking for Zonama Sekot. He’d met Syal and Soontir Fel, as well.
He was my boyfriend, but my brother’s met more of his family than I have.
“Of course I will. He speaks of you sometimes. He said that you helped him make an important decision.”
Wyn smiled. “Good. Is he still philosophical?”
“Yes. He’s the leader of the Jedi Order.”
Wyn started laughing. “That suits him well. I’ll tell Jag, Jaina.” She paused for a second. “He doesn’t have a girlfriend,” she said. “He hasn’t, not since you.” She cut to connection before Jaina could say anything.
He hasn’t dated anyone? Does he still love me? I love Zekk! I’m getting married in two months!
Jaina shook her head. Even if Jag still loved her, he wouldn’t say anything. Not once he saw her ring. He wouldn’t tear her heart apart like that. Or would he?
She shouldn’t have called.
******
A week later, Jaina sat in a tapcaf, waiting for Jag. Her gut was twisting with nervousness. She hadn’t thought about him in years, but suddenly her memories of him were rushing back.
“I won’t leave.”
“Why?”
“Why what?”
“Why won’t you leave?”
“Because I don’t want to.”
Their first kiss, in a conference room on Borleias. The first of many. They’d snuck around the base for months, stealing kisses when they could. And he’d saved her life when she was trapped in Tahiri’s mind.
I love you, Jaina. Please come back to me.
She’d thrown him away for a career. But she was wiser now. And she had Zekk.
Jaina, I love you with all my heart. Will you marry me?”
“Yes.”
He had her heart, now. He had been one of her best friends since she was eight. She’d had a crush on him for years. Until she’d met Jag.
“Colonel Jag Fel.” He bowed and shook her hand. He eyes raked over her. “A Jedi, too. Impressive.”
“ ‘Too’?”
“In addition to being a wonderful pilot. You are hard to kill.”
He’d stepped off the dais where he was greeting politicians to meet her. And that wasn’t the only time he’d gone out of his way to talk to her.
“What they’re doing is strange.”
“They don’t know what else to do.”
“No, they know that the only thing they can do is open it. They just want to make sure that if something bad in on that ship, they don’t get blamed for releasing it.”
He’d loved her, and worried about her, and protected her.
“Force, Jaina, are you okay?”
“I’m fine. Except for being stuck in a med bay.”
“Your parents said that the Minister nearly dislocated your shoulder.”
“Yeah, that hurt.”
He kissed her forehead softly. “I was so worried about you.”
“I was worried about you, too. I’m sorry I told the captain to trick you.”
“It’s okay. I’m just glad you’re safe.”
Why had she given that up? She’d given up his love because she didn’t want to become like her mother, so dedicated to her government that children fell to a nanny.
Her shoulders shook as she began to cry. He had made a mistake, though. She’d let the man she loved go. And he hadn’t come back.
He asked me to go with him. Why did I refuse?
She loved Zekk, and nothing would ever change that. But she didn’t love him like she loved Jag. She accepted his proposal because she thought that Jag would never come back. He was her second choice.
She stood up and ran out of the tapcaf. She had to end it with Zekk. She was in love with another man.
******
“What?”
Jaina cringed. She had known that Zekk would be furious. “I’m so sorry, Zekk. But I can’t marry you. I’m not in love with you.”
“You were yesterday.”
“I thought I was. But I wasn’t. I was just denying my real feelings.”
Zekk turned and started for the bedroom. When he as almost there, he turned around. “The letter you were reading yesterday was from Jag Fel.” It wasn’t a question.
“Yes.”
“Does he still love you?”
“I guess I’ll find out.”
******
Jag had waited for Jaina for an hour by the time he realized that she wasn’t coming. Wyn probably scared her off.
She’s in love with someone else, and Wyn as good as told her that I’m still in love with her. Sisters. What are they good for?
He paid for his drink and left the tapcaf, feeling dejected. He wasn’t paying attention to where he was going, and bumped into a woman. “I’m sorry,” he said.
A tear-streaked face looked up into his. Jaina’s ye went wide, and she suddenly wrapped her arms around him. Jag was surprised, but he returned the embrace.
Jaina said something into his chest. “I can’t understand you, Jaina.”
She lifted her face. “I love you.”
Jag was stunned. That was the last thing he’d expected her to say. He didn’t speak for a moment.
Jaina frowned. “Jag?”
“I love you, Jaina. I always have.”
“Why didn’t you come back?”
“I was waiting for you to be ready. You never called. Why did you push me away?”
“I was stupid. I was so stupid. I—”
She was cut off as Jag’s lips brushed against hers. She returned his hesitant kiss passionately, and enjoyed the feel of his lips against hers, something she hadn’t felt in six years.
******
Two months later, Jaina stood in her wedding dress as her mother fussed over her. She had always thought that she would be nervous on her wedding day. Strangely, she wasn’t. She knew that what she was doing was right.
Wyn grinned. “You know, I’ve made a decision about Jacen.”
“What decision?” Jaina asked.
“He may be a dork, but he’s a lot less goopy than you and my brother.”
Jaina laughed. “Thanks a lot, Wyn. That hurts, coming from the woman who’s going to be my sister-in law in half an hour.”
Wyn laughed and hugged her. Leia Solo hugged her daughter, and then led Jaina into the hallway where Han was waiting. Han kissed Jaina’s forehead and lowered her veil as the bridal march started playing.
At the end of the aisle, Han handed Jaina to Jag. “Take care of my little girl, Jag.”
“I will.”
Jag led Jaina up to the alter. As they exchanged vows, Jaina thought about the events of the last ten years. As Jag slid the ring on her finger, Jaina knew that was she was doing what right.
She was getting her second chance at happiness. And this time, she wasn’t going to let him go.
RE: Jaina/Jag Challenge Thread
Misunderstanding
There was a cool breeze the night of the Gala. She walked in, her arms around her best friend Kyp Durron. He smiled as he held her hand. “It’s going to be ok.” He told her through their bond. Jaina Solo quickly scanned the room hoping they were not there yet.
There was no sign of him or his party. She hadn’t seen him in six years since she told him she wasn’t ready for a commitment. She wanted a career and not a family. How many nights did she sit in her room crying over her mistake? Kyp led her over towards their table as he watched the door ready to come to her aid.
Jagged Fel was nervous as they walked down the hall to the ballroom. He looked to his right and saw his father and mother beside him. To his left he saw his sisters Cem and Wyn. By his side she stood there as she had done so for the last six years. She smiled and told him it would be alright.
They were announced as they entered the ballroom. They made their introductions to their hosts and took their seats at a table directly across from Jaina’s. Jaina slapped Kyp on his arm because he was closely watching Jag’s female partner.
Kyp couldn’t help it. Neither could all the other males at the Gala. They saw her walk in wearing a tight yellow dress with thin straps that flared out at the hem which was half way to her knees. Her brown hair was flowing down to her shoulders with a yellow flowered necklace adorning to her neck.
Jaina started to stare at her also. She was everything that Jag deserved. Jaina couldn’t even hate her. She had a kind smile and a pleasant laugh that was heard across the table. Jaina was crying inside wishing it was she and Jag and not that woman and Jag.
Jag looked over at Jaina several times and his partner whispered in his ear. “Well, what are you waiting for” He turned to her. “Tiriska, she is married now. I can’t simply walk up and tell her I love her.” Tiriska laughed again. “You men are such fools. She won’t take her eyes off you. I know women and that woman is still completely in love with you.”
She looked at Jaina’s companion, the dark haired Jedi. He was on the thin side and his hair was short except his bangs. He looked young except for the few silver streaks in his hair. She was instantly attracted to him and caught him several times looking her over. “Her husband, he’s a Jedi Master?” Jag looked over. “Yes, Kyp Durron. The three of us were inseparable after Hapes. I thought he was the reason that she wouldn’t commit to a relationship. I heard a year later that they were married. They must be in their fifth year together now.”
Tiriska shook her head no. “They don’t look like they’re married.” Jag told her he saw on the holonet. Their wedding was televised live. He started to watch it and then turned if off unable to see the woman he was meant to be with break his heart. Tiriska watched as Kyp placed his hand on hers but when she looked at his face he was again staring at her. A feeling came over her and she decided to take a chance on her gut instinct so excused herself from the table.
Kyp watched the beautiful woman gaze his way sending a tingling throughout him. He shouldn’t be having these thoughts about Jag’s wife but when he watched her, they didn’t really look like they were married. His heart began to beat faster as he saw her get up from her table and approach theirs.
Jag couldn’t stop her. She knew he realized too late what she was doing. She walked right up to the table and greeted the famous Jedi. “I hope you don’t mind but I have always wanted to meet Jag’s friends from the war.” She introduced herself. Kyp loved her voice but had to turn back as Jaina was gripping his hand.
“We hope you will accept an invitation to lunch with us tomorrow at our suite.” Kyp nodded their acceptance against Jaina’s wishes. After the woman left Jaina gave Kyp a force slap. “I can’t believe you did that. What were you thinking?”
Kyp turned to his friend and pointed his finger. “I’m doing what I feel is right. She seems nice and I think we owe it to them since she was kind to offer.”
The end of the Gala didn’t come soon enough. Jaina danced with Kyp all night and Jag danced with Tiriska. But throughout the night Jaina and Tiriska stole glances of the other woman’s man.
The next day at 1400 Kyp and Jaina arrived at the Ambassadorial Suite. “Very nice,” commented Kyp as they were led into the main area. Off to the left Kyp saw the dining area set up for their luncheon.
Tiriska entered and walked over and greeted them. “Jag’ll be ready in a minute. He’s worse than a woman.” Even Jaina had to laugh at the thought of Jag taking so long to be perfectly dressed.
Tiriska looked at them and decided to take a chance. “So. You too have been together for five years?” They both looked at her in surprise. “I’ve heard it was a beautiful wedding. You must have looked lovely Jaina.” Both Kyp and Jaina exchanged surprised looks.
“We’re not married.” Kyp explained. “That was for a mission we were on but the ceremony wasn’t real.” He watched as Tiriska’s smile went wide. She excused herself and walked back to Jag’s bedroom where he was showering in the fresher. She walked up to the door and locked him in before she literally ran back to the main room.
She was walking quickly as she called to Jaina. “Jaina. I think you should go talk to Jag. If I were you, I would tell him how you feel and not let him out of the room until he tells you.” Jaina looked shock that Jag’s wife was telling her to admit her love for this woman’s husband. Kyp turned to Tiriska after feeling Jaina’s thoughts through their bond.
“Don’t take me wrong. But why would you do that?” Tiriska looked at Kyp a little confused. “Because he loves her and he’s my best friend. Besides, he talks about her all the time and I’d rather have them together than me nauseated.” Jaina still could not understand this woman giving up her husband.
“Well, what are you waiting for? I’ve locked him in the fresher?” Tiriska had pulled Jaina to her feet and pushed her towards his bedroom. She shoved Jaina in and locked the outside door. Tiriska went back to Kyp to make her own moves.
Jaina was frightened and called upon the force to calm her. She finally heard the banging on the fresher door and unlocked it. Out came Jag wearing only a pair of boxer shorts his dark short hair wet and disheveled. His face showed his shock before he instantly composed himself. “Jaina, what are you doing in here?” She bit her lower lip. “Um your wife locked me in here.” Jag was confused. “My wife? I don’t have a wife?”
“That woman you are with, that’s not your wife?” Jaina suddenly realized why Tiriska pushed her in here. “No. She’s my bodyguard and my friend. She was assigned to me when I took the Ambassador position.” Jaina jumped into his arms and pushed him to the floor.
Jag’s arms went around her as she kissed him passionately. He suddenly broke the kiss and moved away from her. “This isn’t right. You’re married to Kyp.” Jaina couldn’t have laughed harder if you paid her. “Me and Kyp?” Then she remembered what Tiriska thought about their wedding. Jaina punched Jag in his gut.
“What was that for?” He gasped as he walked towards his bed. “I don’t believe it.” Jaina was furious that they were both thinking the same about each other. “We lost six years because we each thought that the other was married.” He laughed as he thought about it.
“We probably would’ve continued thinking that too if we didn’t get locked in here.” He turned to Jaina. “You said Tiriska locked you in here?” She nodded yes. “She’ll have to unlock us eventually.”
Jaina reached out to Kyp and found him with Tiriska in a passionate embrace. She turned to Jag. “I don’t think that’ll be anytime soon. She and Kyp are kind of tied up at the moment.” Jaina watched as Jag slowly walked towards her his green eyes looking into her chocolate ones showing her his desire.
He stepped up to her, grabbed her two arms and guided her towards the bed. “I think I know how to pass the time.” Her head was nodding in agreement as his lips captured hers as he reminded Jaina of the love they still shared.
The end.
RE: Jaina/Jag Challenge Thread
Silence Is Always the Best Way to Say "I Love You".
Jaina was snuggled up to a pillow in her parents house late one afternoon when the comm bleeped.
She rubbed her eyes and yawned.
This better be good
, she thought.
She walked over to it and clicked it on. A miniture hologram of Kyp Durron sizzled to life.
"Hello Jaina," He said politely. "I'm glad to see that you are still keeping up with your beauty sleep."
Jaina suddenly felt the urge to punch him, but seeing as he wasn't there, the opportunity never arose. Instead she said, "Of course. And I hope that you have not let your hair mess up."
Kyp smiled at this. He loved their little word skirmish's.
"So," he said eventually, "The Council needs to debrief you over your actions at the Jjian Gorge. They feel that you were too 'harsh' with Gujack."
Jaina's face went red. She had thought that Kyp had called for a thrust-parry conversation. Now she had to deal with this. "Um," She muttered unclearly. "I Suppose that I'll get there soon. I'll see you then. Please promise not to be too harsh on me."
Kyp cracked a large smile. "I'll try not to be," his look then turned serious. "And also, you have an urgent priority message waiting for you in the lobby."
"OK," Jaina said weakly, " I'll be along promptly."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jaina walked along the footpaths of Mon Calamari at a quick pace, accidently bumping into more than a few people as she hastily made her way to the Council chamber.
It was a stormy day, and by the time Jaina got to the chamber, she was soaking.
She walked through the rotating doors and looked around the lobby for the 'Urgent Priority Message' that Kyp had talked about.
Her eyes passed over the floor, then knee level, then waist, then neck, but when she looked at face level, she was surprised with what she saw.
Across the room, thirty degrees to her right stood a dark haired average sized man, wearing grey TIE pilot overalls.
She instantly knew that he was the priority message.
It was Jag Fel.
She approached him cautiously, not letting her gaze slip from his eyes. When she had travelled the distance between them, she automatically grabbed him in a very tight hug.
He coughed and managed to say, "Jaina, I'd appreciate it if you would let me breathe again."
Jaina quickly released him and instead planted a huge kiss on his lips.
"So," She whispered seductively, breathing into his ear, "what is this 'message' that Kyp said that I have?"
Jag's looked turned to one of pure joy as he said, "The message is that I have stopped working as an ambassador between the Chiss and the GFFA, so I'm now free to do whatever I like, whenever I want. Including taking big trips with you!"
Jaina was shocked. "So you've resigned your commission?" She asked with more than the slightest amount of suspicion.
"Yes," he beamed harder. Joy radiated out of him like light radiated out from a star.
"Oh Jag," Jaina said apolagetically. "I would love to, but I can't."
"Why Not?" Joy dissappeared and was replaced with tears.
"Because....." Jaina said slowly, as Kyp walked down the stairs.....
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
".....I don't love you anymore." Jaina finished.
"Then who do you love?" Jag was crying harder by the minute.
Kyp then finished walking down the stairs, grinning broadly. "Hi Jaina," he said. "How are you today?"
Jaina smiled back at him and winked. "I'm fine, Kyp. But look at Jag. I don't think he's alright."
Jag slowly turned around to look at Kyp, then snarled and punched him in the face.
Jaina gasped as Kyp fell onto the floor, bleeding.
"What did you do that for?" She screeched wildly.
"Because he stole my love." Jag replied simply.
Jaina stood openmouthed in shock, and horror at what he'd done to Kyp.
"You are kidding me, right?" She asked, looking at Jag as though he needed a brainscan.
"You mean, you don't love Kyp?" Jag asked. He suddenly went pure white. He looked down at Kyp, who was just starting to get up.
Jaina laughed, and Kyp, despite his state, joined in. "Of course I'm not in love with Kyp, you bantha brain!" She giggled.
Kyp stood up. He dusted off his robes and said to Jaina, "To draw away from this a minute, I came down to tell you that the meeting has been called off. But Raynar is waiting for you in the lounge."
Jaina then looked happy, and said to Jag, "I'm engaged to Raynar you dopey idiot. But I hope we can still be friends."
Jag didn't move, other than to nod slowly. With this, Jaina and Kyp whirled away, leaving Jag behind.
As they were nearing the staircase, he thought
But I love you Jaina, don't you understand?
.
Jaina turned around sharply, but saw that Jag was still semi-conscious.
It must have been the wind
, she thought. Then carried on up the staircase.
THE END
It's not up to scrath, but its the best I could do quickly.
And it's not very long, but who cares. It's less to read.
