	HELLO! This is something I've had on my computer forever and I finally decided to post it! The plot may be a little confusing but I'm sure I'll eventually find an explanation for everything and it'll all make sense. (yeah, that'll be the day!) Here's the first chapter! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter One: A gentle breeze brushed past her face, a cool sensation, reminding her of why she was here. All around her were tall trees, their branches waving in the gentle wind, the smell of pine and wildlife surrounded her, pulling her deeper into the force, to another reality, a reality of peace, with no fighting, no dying, no pain. There was a soft noise of animals scurrying away as something approached, bringing her back to the present, to this reality that was her life. Her stomach fluttered, not something but someone, she thought to herself. She turned around, although she had a pretty good idea who it was, she had to be sure. “Jaina, you asked me to meet you here… what’s wrong?” The young man was standing at the end of the path only a few feet away from her. Though he looked infinitely tired, his green eyes were filled with concern; concern for his friend and whatever it was that had made her look so tired, so empty of life. It was as if she had just given up. This war had taken a lot out of the both of them and Jaina felt a sudden, uncontrollable anger. Anger at the war, at the Yuuzhan Vong for starting it all, at the Jedi for not being able to stop it, at the New Republic for falling to pieces at the most crucial moment. Most of all, however, she was angry at herself. Angry that she hadn’t done enough to prevent this from happening. Now she was left with only one choice, and the first person she had to tell was standing right in front of her, no more than three feet away. “Hello, is anyone in there? Are you alright?” he asked, passing his hand in front of her face a few times. She came out of her reverie with a start. “Huh? Oh, sorry Jag, just thinking.” Here goes nothing. She thought to herself. "Jag, I asked you to come here because I’ve made a very important decision and I wanted to tell you first.” I’m so sorry. “You know how the Yuuzhan Vong have called for the deliverance of all the Jedi, especially Jacen, Anakin and I?” “Uh Oh,” he muttered, “I have a bad feeling about where you’re going with this.” Jaina sighed. “Please, just let me talk.” She took a deep breath, “I’ve decided to turn myself in.” Holding up a hand to stop his outburst, she continued, “Jacen has agreed to come with me, he’s the one they want the most. Anakin will stay behind since he is the youngest. This is the only way to stop them, don’t you see? Once they have their twin sacrifice, they will be content to stop their conquest of the galaxy. Zekk has agreed to take us to them, knowing that he will probably die too. Please, don’t try to stop us, that will only make it harder to leave.” “Jaina, this will never work! You really think that they’ll stop once they get you two? Where have you been? All the Yuuzhan Vong will settle for is the total conquering of the galaxy! Turning yourselves in will only raise their morale.” He was mad now, yelling. Jaina could see the fury on his face. “I don’t want to lose you, neither does your family.” He was close to tears, she could tell. "You think I want to turn myself in?!” She yelled. “It’s not about what we want anymore! It never was. I have to leave now, Jace and I have to tell our parents and my dad will try to stop us; which usually involves a blaster.” As she turned to walk away, Jag reached out and caught her arm, “Wait! Please, at least think this over again. Don’t throw away your life, you have too much to live for." As she pulled out of his grip and turned to leave, tears came to her eyes. “I’m sorry Jag, I have to go.” With that she left, trying hard not to cry, not to look back. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There, whadda ya think? Does everyone like? Please tell me...I'm dying to know! Of course, since it's been on my computer for so long, I already have the next chapter ready. I can't wait any longer....Here's chapter two! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter Two: Aboard the Star Destroyer Errant Venture, Kyp Durron’s comlink chirped, waking him from a deep, peaceful sleep, telling him that yet another person needed his attention. Ever since the forming of the Jedi Council, the demands on his time and attention had become insufferable. Someone always seemed to need his attention or opinion or something like that. It never stopped! His comlink chirped again, demanding his attention. With a sigh of resignation Kyp clicked it on, “Durron here, what is it?” This had better be important. He thought to himself. Probably just another one of those politicians needing his consent for some silly issue or another. However, the voice coming from his comlink was the last one he would have expected to hear. Especially at 0200 hours. “Kyp? This is Jag…I, uh, have some bad news about Jaina.” Jag’s voice was concerned and a little strained. Something was definitely wrong for him to be letting emotions into his voice. Kyp suddenly found himself struggling to breathe, “What happened? What’s wrong?” he managed to choke out. Trough the Force, he had felt her struggle with some something over the past few weeks, but thought better of confronting her. She would tell when she was ready, besides, it hadn’t seemed all that urgent. If something had happened to her, if she had been hurt, someone would pay dearly.... “Kyp? Kyp!” Jag’s voice broke through Kyp’s dark thoughts. “Kyp, are you sitting down? If not, I would advise it.” “Just tell me what happened!” Kyp yelled, “Is she hurt? If she is...” he didn’t even want to think about it. Jag’s voice was calm but there was an underlying tone of distress. “Nothing has happened to her…yet. She’s got the fool idea that if she and her brother go to the Yuuzhan Vong, the war will end!” Shock momentarily paralyzed him, “Is she out of her kriefing mind?” he finally managed. What the sith is she thinking? She should know it won’t stop them! His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts threatening to overpower him. Reaching out to the force, Kyp tried to find Jaina, but she had shut herself off, put up her mental barriers. He could barely sense her, let alone find out where she was. “Jag; do you know where she went? We have to stop her before it’s too late!” He was frantic, trying to put together some way of stopping her. The only problem, he thought, is that if she’s really made up her mind, Jag, Han, all of the Jedi and I all together couldn’t stop her, especially with Jacen at her side. All we would be doing is slowing them down. “I have a plan, but I’ll need your help.” As Jag layed out his plan, Kyp began to feel a cautious hope that they might be able to stop the Jedi twins. Right now his job was to find Jacen, who was supposedly still on the Errant Venture, and try to talk some sense into his head. In his opinion, Jag had the harder of the two jobs. All Kyp had to do was talk to Jacen, who would be much more receptive and logical about the whole thing. Jag, meanwhile, was in hyperspace on his way to the hidden Jedi Base where Han and Leia Solo and Luke and Mara Skywalker were staying. He had assumed that Jaina would be going there next to break the news to her family. If he could get there first and warn them, maybe the five of them could work together to get through to Jaina. I can’t lose her, not now, not ever. These words had been playing in his head over and over again ever since his call to Kyp. I haven’t gotten to tell her that I love her. That’s the first thing I say when I see her again. She needs to know. Up until a few months ago, they had just been best friends, able to depend on each other no matter what. Then, about three months ago, Jag had realized that he had fallen in love with her, his best friend. He hadn’t told her yet because life had been too hectic, with the war intruding on every aspect of people’s lives. Now he might lose her for good. He couldn’t let that happen, I have to stop her! *********************************** As Kyp walked into the mess hall, he saw Jacen over in a corner, deep in thought. As he walked closer, Jacen looked up, startled. “Kyp! You scared me for a second!” “You should have sensed me coming,” Kyp said, “We have something we need to talk about.” Jacen just looked at him, as if he had expected this confrontation, and nodded. “Yes,” his tone was resigned, “we do” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ There, still good?
