Oh my god! That is comedy gold. Someone should make a video file of that. I can see him yelling that too. Man...what a smile on my face. Almost as good as "You won't see the last of MEEeeeee...!

JMN77, the same thing happened to me. When Vader was unmasked, I thought he said, "Tell your sister you've arrived."

The first time I had a glimpse of Star Wars was when I was visiting one of my cousins. I saw the sailing barge part of Return of Jedi. When I saw Leia, I thougtht she always dressed like that. However, I also thought Jabba and the aliens were so scary. Afterward, I kept thinking to myself: "I wish I was in a world where girls dressed like that all the time, but I would hate to be around all those aliens."

I also thought the lightsabers were "life savers." Yet I always knew Vader's name was Darth Vader. Of course, I did have some silly ideas. I couldn't tell the difference between the words "Empire" and "Emperor." I thought that everytime they talked about the "Empire" they meant the "Emperor." I didn't understand anyone when they said "Rebellion." I thought they were saying "Rebenyun." Also, I didn't know what Han and Chewie were loading onto their ship in A New Hope. I didn't know it was their reward money. I figured they were loading tools or something. blush

It was their reward money?! Wow, learn something new everyday...then again haven't watched the OT in months...eh I'll probably buy the DVD's next paycheck, or just see if I get them for Christmas or my birthday.

I thought Luke in the Bible was named AFTER Luke Skywalker.

I though Lightsaber was a Lifesaver too....

Same here! I got in an argument with my sunday school teacher about it!

I also though Boba Fett was Bubba Fett.

That's classic! Very funny!

For the longest time, I wondered why Vader died just from losing his hand.
Then I realized that he was electrocuted while he was carrying the Emperor.

The scene:
After Vader gives Sidious the shaft (heh heh), he slouches to the floor and props his wrist up on a piece o' something or other.
Even as a small child I could see David Prowse flexing his hand inside the glove where his wrist was supposed to be. But, being a small child I did'nt know that it was simply an overlooked mistake.
I thought that Vader must have pulled his hand into his suit right before Luke swung and did'nt get it cut off!
Stupid, huh? rolling_eyes

Sorry to get of topic but David Prowse was not in the Vader suit in ROTJ.

I only saw the CT when I was thirteen so I have no misconceptions.

Yes, he was. Watch the credits again, friend.

Sebastian Shaw was Anakin. Bob Anderson was the stunt double
because Prowse did not want to do any fight scenes.
But yes, Prowse was in the Vader suit as he was in ANH and ESB.

The first time I watched ANH, I was very young. I thought Alderaan was earth because the planet looked just like the earth in my science/nature books.

I thought Leia, when asked the location of the Rebel Base, caved in and muttered, "Down to earth. They're all down to earth" which of course indicated that they were on earth. laugh

Yeah, he was. Just not the fight scenes I believe.
Well and the un-masking scene of course!

When I was a kid, I didn't even pay attention to Star Wars, or any movie of the kind for that matter. I only wanted to see the brainless action movies and the saber battles in Star Wars, only reason a use to watch it years ago. tongue

Now I can go back, really understand the PT, and cheerish it.

I originally hate Star Wars with out even seeing it. I had seen the original cover, the one with Luke with his shirt open and Leia at his feet, and I thought it was He-Man. I hated He-Man. I hated it so much. So I thought this was the movie. My dad wanted me to watch it and I refused. I didn't want to watch it so badly that I went outside in the 95 degree weather just so I didn't have to see it.
Eventually I got so tired and hot that I came back in. What I saw on the TV was the trash compactor scene and like a zombie I walked into the living room and sat glued to the TV. From that moment on I knew that Star Wars was the best movie. Ever. Made.

Funny how a simple cover could influence judgement on a movie. Now I can't get enough of that Luke-chest manly image. *swoon*

haha that's really funny. I completely understand though-- before I actually watched the movies, I was deeply prejudiced against Star Wars because of my preconceived notions that it was a spin off of... Star Trek. Blasphemy, I know. This is why I now always insist on people who are unjustly and illogically prejudiced against SW to just watch the movies. I've seen many a convert emerge from this simple act grin

In ANH I thought owi-wan said "As if millions of OYSTERS had cried out in terror...and were suddenly silenced."

hey, i was very young and i had recently seen disney's alice in wonderland, where the oysters "cry out in terror" just before the walrus eats them all.

the frightening part is just how long I thought that was the actual line. lol.
