	Very nice chapter and I really appreciate the fact that your version of Luke hasn't completely forgotten about his pseudo-parents. Yeah, Owen & Beru weren't as dramatic as Lord Darth Vader, but he knew them for much, much longer. I'd also be interested to know if Leia/Han/Lando/Chewie were aware that Luke just snuck away with the hot, redhead. It'll be especially interesting to see how Lando reacts to this fact. I must say, though, I halfway expect the Tuskens to turn around and flee the moment Luke ignites the saber, what with Anakin having butchered an entire tribe with a similar weapon... -----signature----- An armed society is a polite society. 	I'm not surprised Luke offered to teach Mara about the Force. I just hope he can show her enough of the light side to convince her to break Palpatine's hold on her. I loved her accompanying him back to the Lars home. It's typical of Luke to want to pay homage. And now the sand people have arrived...very interesting. I always thought that since he raised her that she would look to him as a parient figure, as much as she could. Now she sees Luke as how he looks at his parient figures. Yet his parient figures protected him, showed him compassion, and let him be a child. Hers never did these things. He has even told her to share a bed with Luke if she has too . I think that maybe she is also wonderingg if Luke is the horrible dangerous threat to the Emperor that he has made him out to be. Luke keeps on putting himself in a posistion to protect her from harm. The Emperor would not do that I'm sure. I bet she is confused. Yes, Hett (a Jedi raised by Tuskens and escaped order 66) was leading a tribe of Tuskens and was retaking territory. They were about to attack the Lars homestead and Obi-Wan intervened. Lightsabers clashed, Hett lost an arm and was unmasked (which was the ultimate shame to Tuskens, his tribe turned their backs and left). Hett asked Obi-Wan to finish him, Obi-Wan refused and banished him from Tatooine. Then Hett turned to the dark side, learned the ways of the Sith. Proclaimed himself a Sith Lord called Darth Krayt and lead the near annihilation of the Jedi Order 130 years ABY in the Legacy comics. 	Every word, every emotion--beautiful and poignant. Vivid descriptions and through it all the wonderful connection growing between them two... so natural and so real and so deep--woven of strands of honesty, compassion, respect, and Mara sharing Luke's burdens and the joys and hardships of his past. Things have been very busy lately and my muse has been somewhat suffocated by everything going on, but I am continuing to plug away at the next chapter and hope to have it done within the next few days. I've always had the trip to the homestead planned, but that discussion helped me to develop the idea further. I would think there would be hoots and hollers in a male conquest kind of way, except of course from Leia (for obvious reasons) and Lando, who likely wishes he had snuck away with the hot redhead! He is alone as far as he knows, aside from Yoda, and I would think he would want to share what he knows with her. He has even told her to share a bed with Luke if she has too.[/quote] As a young child she must have seen him as somewhat of a father figure, but it is my contention (at least in the context of this story) that he was far to cruel, demanding and aloof for her to have continued to see him that way in her later adolescent and adult years. And yes, witnessing Luke's feelings for and thoughts about his aunt and uncle have to leave a mark on her. And as for the going to bed thing, that is a very important issue for her. 	Well, Luke's actions here have certainly given Mara a thing or two to think about. It was good to see him go back nad give Owen & Beru the marker they deserved, something to show that they'd been there.
