***********
A dark-clad figure in a long robe stood atop the Jedi temple at what was officially known as Ièthrèal, a strange planet on the outskirts of the Middle Rim. Surprisingly unpopulated, the planet was a mixture of climates and landscapes, from marsh to desert, forest to ocean, mountains to valleys.
The planet was found early after the war and seemed to resonate with the Force, though not to the degree of Zonama Sekot. To some people, the planet seemed alive and ferocious. To Kyp Durron, Jedi Master, the planet was at peace, its natural life unchanged apart from the small area where the Jedi had built their ‘temple’ – as the sanctuary was loosely referred to – the top of which afforded the best views of the planet.
So that is where Kyp stood in the dead of the night, a soft breeze flirting with his hair and his ever-changing eyes closed lightly in thought. Although haunted every day by his past, Kyp wasn’t one to really dwell on past mistakes and alternative actions. Tonight, all that changed. Tonight Kyp couldn’t help but think about his past, his present, and even his future. The reason for this sudden change in the Jedi Master could easily be accounted for by the fact that Luke Skywalker had called an emergency meeting of not only the Jedi, but also representatives from the Galactic Alliance, Chiss, and Yuuzhan Vong in order to discuss a new threat. Now every person who had ever had a significant impact on Kyp’s life would be on the same planet; a fact which had Kyp reeling as he was less then prepared to deal with certain people after the last rather colourful encounter.
After only a few minutes, a small smile crept onto Kyp’s face as he felt a tremor in the Force, and the emergence of an all too familiar presence. “Hello,” he greeted as a dark figure emerged from the shadows and made its way towards the Jedi Master.
The figure was relatively short for his age, but he held himself in a way that portrayed confidence and knowledge beyond his years, his body flowed easily perfectly balanced, a form that betrayed his prowess in combat. Offering no reply until he had crossed the short distance to Kyp’s side, he softly greeted the Jedi Master in a friendly tone.
“You’ve grown,” Kyp pointed out as if unsure of what else to say to the young man who now stood next to him.
“Would you expect any less of me?” Was the figure’s only reply as he turned his head into the moonlight his cloak falling back to reveal his pale face.
A long silence filled the air before Kyp spoke again his voice barely a whisper. “What happened, Anakin?”
Anakin considered the man next to him for a long time before he finally spoke. “When I joined the Force, it was so over whelming; time had no constraints. I could be everywhere at anytime. I learned so many things that have been forgotten. I actually communicated with Master Yoda, Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, and many other of the great Jedi—including my grandfather.” Pausing for a minute, Anakin considered his next words carefully before continuing, “Have you ever had the feeling that there is both not enough time and too much of it in the same instance? That’s what the Force truly feels like when you give yourself to it.” Anakin drew in a deep breath, relief flooding his features.
“But how were you able to come back? You were dead, Anakin. I saw your body; I was there when they burned it.” Kyp gazed at Anakin, the brown in his eyes taking on a deeper tone that overwhelmed the green, an effect that often occurred when his curiosity got the better of him.
His voice taking on a distant tone Anakin slowly replied, “Uncle Luke once told Master Yoda that he couldn’t die. Do you know what Yoda’s response was? I’ll tell you now for Master Skywalker has kept it a secret, he never truly understood its… implications. ‘Strong am I in the Force, but not that strong.’ Those were his exact words, think about them and maybe you’ll be able to figure it out.
“As for my body, it’s just the arrangement of atoms in a certain order so as to create a semblance of my physical form. Don’t get me wrong. I will bleed, I will hurt, I will love, I will cry… but my body will not die of illness or old age.” Turning to face his friend, Anakin carefully studied Kyp for a long time as if ascertaining weather or not he was ready for the information. “I’m not back from the dead, Kyp, for I’m not alive, at least not by your standards. Once my job here is done, I will return to the Force.”
“And what is your job?” Kyp asked, uncertain if he wanted to know the answer.
“To try and regain that which has been lost,” Anakin replied, then in a soft voice he added, “and to heal the Force.”
“But why you?” Kyp queried, meeting the young man’s eyes as if they held the answers.
“It is my destiny. I can be the healer… or I can destroy every living thing in this galaxy.”
To that Kyp had no answer, for he could not answer that which he did not understand.
***
Several hours after Anakin had returned to his room, Kyp continued his vigil atop the Temple. His gaze passing over every detail of the landscape as if it held the answers he was seeking. Just as he was about to give up and return to his own room, though, he felt a soft deceiving presence moving towards him, a presence that he had once admired.
“Go away,” Kyp murmured as the figure emerged into the cool night air.
“Oh believe me, I’m not here by choice,” a soft voice responded. “I’m simple delivering a message; you really left me no choice, you know. The manner in which you have slowly eased your way into their lives... I’m not about to let you ruin them as well. So the message is simple. Stay. Away. From. Them. I don’t care what reasons you have created in order to justify your presence. I don’t want you near them.” The voice was soft and controlled, as if the entire speech had been planned out before and rehearsed to a point where the words no longer had meaning. But Kyp received the intention of the message clearly.
Go near them and you’ll pay. They are mine.
Slowly a smile crept onto Kyp’s face; far from friendly, this was the smile that had been reserved for Luke Skywalker, until, of course, the council had been created. “You know I can’t do that; he’s my family along with Han, Jaina, Jag, and maybe even Jacen.” Kyp’s pause was barely even noticeable as collected his thoughts knowing that any weakness or lack of conviction would be immediately recognizable to her.
When at last he continued, Kyp spoke each word with purpose his voice just barely loud enough to be heard from the shadows. “They are the only things I have left, and you nor any dead Sith Lord will force me to give him… them... up.” Kyp spoke softly, just loud enough to be audible from the shadows. After a brief pause to ensure his words had been heard and processed, Kyp Durron, former Sith apprentice and now Jedi Master, turned and headed towards his room, not even acknowledging the petit woman who was watching from the shadows, her white dress flowing in the small breeze.
“No, Kyp, I’ll protect mine. You will not destroy everything I have worked for, no matter what your claim to it... or to him,” the woman whispered before she two disappeared from the now-desolate roof.

I thought it was fantastic.
Surprisingly unpopulated, the planet was a mixture of climates and landscapes, from marsh to desert, forest to ocean, mountains to valleys.
Very nicely put.
the brown in his eyes taking on a deeper tone that overwhelmed the green, an effect that often occurred when his curiosity got the better of him.
Wonderful explanation of discrepancies with his eye color. I still consider Kyp with dark green almost black eyes.
“No, Kyp, I’ll protect mine. You will not destroy everything I have worked for, no matter what your claim to it... or to him,” the woman whispered before she two disappeared from the now-desolate roof.
Ooh. Creepy.
Can't wait to see what this is all about.
As for title. That's hard to offer a suggestion until we know more about your story.
Speaking of which. If you're going to offer PM's with your updates I'd like to be included. This looks very interesting and it has Kyp, my favorite kind of fic.

Okay i know this took way longer then it should have to post, mostly due to RL stuff but also some problems with writing character i haven't done before *hits Jacen over the head for being difficult*
****Chapter 1****
Home
, Jaina thought to herself.
Well, as close to home as there is, anyway,
Smiling at the thought, Jaina Solo carefully set her X-wing down in the docking bay and quickly shut down the engines before popping the hatch. Twisting around and garbing her bag from its resting place Jaina quickly swung it onto her back, standing up in her seat she and launched herself into the air. Enjoying the feeling of momentary suspension before falling to the ground, Jaina closed her eyes lightly, calling on the Force at the last possible moment to halt her fall and land softly on her feet. Turning around to face the stony-faced Chiss ambassador’s personal Clawcraft, Jaina saw that he was halted halfway down the ladder, shaking his head at her, a large grin settling on his face.
“What? It feels good to be
home
,” she stated defensively before breaking into a grin. “Besides, none of the squad is around to feel uncomfortable.”
Jagged Fel’s only reply was to turn around and continue descending the ladder. Jaina had to admit that while she was glad that the Chiss-raised Corellian had loosened up—at least around her—it was good to know that something hadn’t changed. That even though Jag was now a well-respected diplomat, he still flew his personal fighter at any opportunity and participated in sims with the squadrons whenever his schedule permitted.
Once on the ground, Jag began to stretch out his muscles. “That’s what you get for refusing to use
The Rebel
,” Jaina said as he finished his stretches and walked over to her.
“Jay, you know much I hate using the ship unless protocol dictates. They never let me do anything…”
“ . . .except sit at your desk and write reports,” Jaina finished, perfectly in-sync with his words. She had heard the argument enough times to know the precise timing. “Well, you did accept the job,” Jaina retaliated, unclipping her com from her belt and quickly keying in The Rebel’s number.
“Twin Suns Lead reporting,” she stated when the static cleared.
“Report, Lead,” the brisk voice of Shawnkyr replied. Jaina shook her head at Shawnkyr’s manner. As the Lead of the Chiss squadron assigned to Jag, she knew that the female Chiss also saw the ambassador’s safety as her main priority. She was constantly arguing against Jag’s insistent use of his Clawcraft as a security risk.
“Landing went smoothly; we’ve just gotten down,” Jaina replied, knowing that any sense of ire would be lost on her
friend
.
“Copy.” With that, the transmission terminated.
“Sometimes I truly wonder how she does it,” Jaina muttered to herself, not really expecting an answer.
Jag smiled softly. “You forget, Jaina, that I was once just as bad as her. Good thing I accidentally ran into a
scruffy rebel pilot
.”
“Yeah, otherwise there would have been no hope for you,” Jaina relied, returning his smile and allowing her mind to briefly flit over her... their past.
Suddenly she smiled. “Come on, lets go find…” Jaina’s smiled faded into a grin as she felt a familiar presence brush over her in the Force, reaching out the returned the caress. “Never mind, he’s already coming.”
Picking up his bag from the floor, Jag smiled sadly for a moment. “It doesn’t matter how much I am surrounded by the Force, it still unnerves me.” Jag spoke softly, not really intending for his friend to hear. “Especially when you do that,” he added as Kyp Durron walked into the hanger, a welcoming grin on his face.
“’Bout kriffing time you two got here,” Kyp stated, wrapping Jaina in a firm but brief embrace before greeting Jag. “Now, we really should go; Master Skywalker is expecting both of you,” Kyp remarked as he led his two friends from the hanger.
“So what does Uncle Luke want?” Jaina asked as soon as they were free of the hanger.
“I’m not sure, Jay; I don’t really know that much. All I know is that he received several reports from the GA and a few encrypted com calls. Now he has not only asked as many of the Jedi as possible to return here, but has requested representatives from the Chiss, Galactic Alliance, and Yuuzhan Vong attend as well,” Kyp explained as he took his place on Jaina’s right. Jag took the left, their steps falling into time more out of habit then any conscious thought.
“Kyp, something seems wrong with this whole thing. It’s… it’s as if I know all of this on an intimate level, but at the same time there is a gap that can never be covered. I can’t explain it! It’s just this feeling that something bad is happening, and unless it is stopped everything in this galaxy will be destroyed by it.” Looking curiously between the two, Jag knew that this was one part of his friends’ lives that he would never understand. But he also knew that he would fight for them no matter what.
“I know what you mean; I have the same feeling,” Kyp replied, uncomfortable. He wrapped a comforting arm around her shoulders, Jag’s joining him from the other side. Smiling at her two friends, Jaina slipped an arm around their waists, thankful that even after the end of the war and the changes it had wrought, the bond they had formed on Borleias was still strong.
****
Silently Ben Skywalker moved his fingers across the controls of the Sekotian ship,
Seela
thankful for its organic life that reminded him so much of home. He had been away from Sekot for only three days, and already he missed the living planet, with all its wonders and quirks.
At the age of six, Ben had moved to Sekot under the care of Tahiri Veila. Even after his father had stepped down from the key leadership role of the Jedi, he was still too tied up in their affairs to be so far out of reach. As he had said at the end of the war, Ben was meant to be with Sekot. And while he had always visited his parents for a week every couple of months, this was the first time he had returned to known space with no idea of when he would get the chance to feel Sekot in his mind once again. When he would next walk amongst the Boras and feel their deadly caresses while knowing there was no place he was safer then in their mists. Thoughts like these had been accumulating within the youngster’s mind for the last few days, and as they had grown, so too had the sadness and despair that was now rolling off him in waves.
“Hey, Benny, cheer up.” A soft voice resonated from behind him, “We’ll see her soon, I promise.”
“I know, Tahi. But it hurts that I don’t know when I’ll see her again,” Ben replied turning around to face the young girl who he had become so attached to over the last three years.
“Don’t worry Ben. You’ll be fine, you have me and Harrar and Seela,” Tahiri said, wrapping her young charge in a warm embrace.
“I know,” Ben replied as the ship carefully set itself down, and the two moved towards the equivalent of the ships hatch. Harrar fell into step with them as they passed his chamber.
As Ben was about to release the hatch, Tahiri grabbed his hand, her voice taking on a sad tone. “Look on the bright side, Ben, your entire family will be here. But be careful. Guard your mind like you have been taught. Many of the things you have been learning have only been fully understood by your cousin, and he paid for that knowledge with pain. I don’t know how long we will be here, and some of the knowledge that is common on Sekot would cause a great up stir here. You are powerful, Ben; be careful.” Ben nodded his head, pausing for a few minutes to build up the defences which he had ignored for so long. After a moment, he reached out a soft caress to the ship both with his mind and hand.
****
Anakin smiled to himself as the Sekotan ship settled gently into the specially designed hanger. It would be good to see Ben and Tahiri again. Due to circumstances, it had been a year since he had last been around for one of their visits, Anakin had a great dislike for Zonama Sekot, and much to Tahiri’s dislike, had not returned since his first visit, a few months after his return. No one understood his avoidance of Sekot, as most of the Jedi returned to the planet at least once a year and welcomed her presence into their minds. However, most of the Jedi did not push his decision, with the exception of Tahiri, who wished he would visit more often.
Smiling ruefully as he pushed the thoughts from his mind, Anakin approached the foreign ship, watching as the small group descended the lowered ramp. Stepping forward, he greeted Harrar with a small incline of his head and quickly embraced Ben before drawing Tahiri into a tight embrace, breathing in the somewhat unfamiliar smell of her hair.
“I’ve missed you,” he whispered.
“I missed you too, Kin,” Tahiri replied after a slight pause. “I always do,” she finished, her voice barely a whisper.”
Smiling sadly, Anakin took Tahiri’s hand and began leading the small group to his uncle’s office. His mind drifted over the bittersweet reunion. Tahiri’s pause had been barely audible, but to Anakin it had been painfully obvious. Whether by his wish or not, he was slowly losing touch with Tahiri… with his angel. Zonama Sekot was now her home, her way of life, but for Anakin, Sekot was living hell. He didn’t know what it was about the planet, but its presence physically hurt him. The feeling of it within his mind was worse then anything Jacen had endured in the embrace of pain.
At one point he had loved Tahiri, and in a way he still did. But the girl walking next to him was not the girl he loved; she was not the Tahiri he grew up with, the one who he had shared his dreams and fears with. Now she was some strange mix of warrior, Jedi, human and Yuuzhan Vong, and Anakin barely knew half of her. The rest was something he could never understand, something that filled him with despair.
****
Jacen lowered his eyes as he quickly removed the rich cloak from his shoulders and replaced it with his homespun Jedi robe. While he had been able to escape many of the luxuries of his home by representing himself and his wife both as Jedi and the rulers of Hapes, he was still not entirely as free as he would have hoped. However, as the young prince turned his senses outwards, his thoughts were quickly forgotten.
Beyond the hatch, he could sense every member of his family and several of his friends. He could feel his parents’ keen excitement at seeing him again, his sister’s happiness at being reunited with her family after so long. His brother, however . . . Jacen could sense his happiness, but at it’s edges it was being consumed with a sadness—at what, Jacen could only guess. He could sense Luke and Mara as they held their son up by the hands, their joy at seeing their son once more hidden only by the sadness they he would leave soon. Ben’s thoughts, however, were tightly shielded, beyond which there was only joy at behaving like a regular child with is parents.
His sense then shifted to Tahiri: the woman, no longer the girl, who had been so devastated by Anakin’s death. Like his young cousin, Tahiri, too, had her mind carefully guarded. A brief ripple of shock pierced Jacen as he passed over Kyp. The level of emotion was high in the Jedi Master. On the surface, he was happy to see everyone safe, glad to be back in the presence of those he considered family. Below the complexity of these emotions there was more, carefully shielded, but it was there… what the ‘it’ was Jacen could not tell, but he knew it existed.
Quickly switching his frame of mind, he cut himself off from the Force and instead focused his presence through the hollow in his chest where once a slave seed had grown. Now he could feel Harrar, whose only thoughts were how he wanted to be back home. Once again he could sense Tahiri, though now her thoughts were more open. He could feel how she was reacting to Anakin’s presence, but more curiously, he could sense the faint bond forming between the warrior and another presence. Shifting his mind, Jacen studied the presence carefully. It felt physically young, but no longer innocent, and he was powerful, so much so that he outshone even his father. Surprised, Jacen pulled back. How could Ben exist in this part of the Force? He had no implants like himself and Tahiri, but he was still there. Stranger still, the presence was conscious.
Smiling, Jacen approached the hatch, reaching out to palm it open. The knowledge that even in the shadow of a threat happiness existed in the form of a reunited family made Jacen realize that sometimes even small mercies were blessings. Knowing he had kept his family waiting long enough, Jacen opened the hatch and descended the ramp of his Hapan ship. Briefly, Jacen saw his family smile at him before he was swept into their midst.

RE: Mystery ~ 35 ABY (Kyp, Jag, Tahiri, Solo's, Skywalker's and others) UPDATED 9/12
Oh very nice. JMD!
I love Anakin's nickname, Kin. That's so sweet.
Nice job with Ben, always very curious.
Oh and some problem with Kyp, interesting. Things are starting to develop I see.
Can't wait for more.

Ah, the joys of family reunions.
But let's see....Kyp is worried about something, Ben and Tahiri are hiding something, and Jacen can feel Ben w/ his "Vong sense." Hmmmmmm, what could that be about??
And of course, there's the big something that Luke has called them all together for.....well, this is indeed a "Mystery"

Again, very intriguing. Although it saddens me to see Tahiri and Anakin drift apart, I can see how that would happen in your universe. I have no title suggestions for you (unless you plan to use Mystery as your title now) but I eagerly await more.

Sweeney Todd: He recognized me from the old days. Tried to blackmail me.
Mrs. Lovett: Oh, well that's a different matter then. For a moment there I thought you lost your marbles.
