ok I since I have bought rubies supreme edition costume I like many other people go eabying for a good helmet on ebay. I have seen the MR helmet and the rubies limited edition, which the price tag alone make me cycle back in my seat. The rubies LOL let me just say its great their given the dark lord so much effort in that they get an A, but in the attention to detail arena they get a c- lol I mean asking 1100 to 1200 for a more accurate mask than the supreme edition is fine, but reversing the paint job like that is just rediculous when they want so much for it. But I have started seeing this mask here on ebay alot. S_S edit: removed eBay link

Now is it just me or did this person have a fond affection for peekanese(sp?) dogs? LOL

This mask makes vader look like he has a gland problem lol ( maybe its just the picture LOL

And I have also seen the droopy jaw vader which I hear is from a sequentially worsening mold that was used.

And then there are seemingly about 50 different don post masks pre and post star wars release, all seem to look uneven, with the head tilted to the right. I have seen a black and white boxed vader helmet, and the blue boxed helmet. But if your going to make a reveal helmet, or go after a more movie accurate helmet aside from the MR model, and trying to keep the costs down say 100 or less, but still get quality which is the helmet to get?

It all depends on how accurate you want to have your Vader.

You don't need to pay 1000 USD for the MR helmet, there are the much cheaper 800 USD versions, and concerning the quality of the helmet, the sum is reasonable IMO. There are fan made helmets which are much more expensive.

You can get the Rubies Supreme for right under 100 USD, but it will nead heavy upgrades to look decent (take a look into the Rubies Supreme thread, the guys there just rock).

As to the link you posted... laugh
A nice Child's toy, but nothing for collectors.

While I agree that the Rubies Supreme Helmet is not perfect, it's looks much better than just 'decent'.
MR Helmet is the way to go as far as I'm concerned, however, for those of you that wear the Rubies Helmet, your still cool in my book.

I'm getting the MR this summer. I have the Rubies Helmet now, and I have to say, for the novice (regular joe's) out there, they LOVE IT. They say I look pretty 'dang' good in my costume, which is great to hear from 'John Q Public'.

It's just, I WILL BE HAPPIER, with the MR. Not that I think the Rubies is bad.

Yeah same here....I had to come up with how I could cut bills down by 1k for the year to get her to go for it.
Not easy, I got to 725 in cuts...which was good enough for her, so she let me slide for the rest. Some creative negotiations with everyone from Insurance to Phone Companies had to be called, but I got it done.

At some point in time I'm doing a Vader. Not sure when yet. As far as helmets go I was thinking one of those cheapo voice changer helmets. But one small problem, the bucket is way too small. I like the helmet, and was wondering how to avoid this little (ecxuse pun) problem. The helmet I'm borrowing from a friend, so I don't have to buy it. But I'm trying to keep this under $30-$50 if possible. Can't make it myself, and I don't think online will work either (because of parents).

lol, your the second one to comment on that. I'm glad I just bought a faux leather quilted leather body suit to replace the one in those pics. I've spent a lot on this suit so far, and my total continues to grow as I continue to upgrade. Its a never ending battle hypnotized , but its completely worth it.
