	Title: Loyalties Rating: G Characters: Anakin Padme Summary: Anakin find his loyalties divided Wordcount: 338 “Anakin?” , Padme had slipped gracefully out of bed and followed her husband out onto the Veranda. It was springtime on Naboo and the air smelled sweet with the scent of flowers. Anakin stood looking over the lake with his arms crossed behind his back. The sun was just beginning to rise and its golden rays seeped out over the mountains onto the lake, colouring it silver. “Anakin, are you all right?” He turned around and looked down at her sadly, “ Just thinking.” He reached out with his mechanical arm and tucked a stray brown curl back behind her ear. “About what?” He turned away and walked off down the veranda. She followed him, walking fast to keep up with his long strides, “Anakin tell me!What’s going on?” He stopped and leaned against the railing, “Nothing.” “ You always say nothing but it always means something.” She wrapped her arms around his waist snuggling her face into his chest. He sighed heavily, “ I love you.” “ I would hope so since you married me.” “ I would do anything for you, you’re my whole life, my existence. I couldn’t live without you.” “ Don’t be silly, of course you could.” “ I mean it Padme, I would go mad… If this damned war hasn’t made me mad already!” She pulled back and looked up at him, “ That’s it, you’re worried about the war?” “ I got a message from Obi-wan yesterday. They want me to cut my leave short.” “ What did you say?” He looked away, “ I said yes.” “Anakin!” she stepped back and crossed her arms, glaring at him,“ how could you?” “ They're my friends Padme! I have to help them!” “Why? What’s so important? What’s more important than me?” “Adi Gala has been injured and they need someone to replace her. I’m the best pilot they have.” “ You promised we’d have a week together!” Padme bit her lip. Her outburst had sounded whiney and she hated being whiney.
