Three heroes
Prologue
Year one of the Clone-wars
A soft sound was heard in the distance and it belonged to a craft with two engines. As the craft approached the village the sound had multiplied to an ear-shrieking roar and you could see what the craft really was. The two engines were huge, belching fire and held together by an energy-binder which crackled with intense actinic energy. A small red pod-like structure was attached to the engines by two cables.
The most amazing to see was however the pilot. A red helmet and a red suit covered the humanoid figure. Goggles shrouded its eyes and two hands encased in black gloves held on to the steering yoke and throttles.
It was a podracer and its pilot and they were on a training-trip on Alderaan.
The pilot guided the craft to a halt near a small cottage and killed the engines.
An old man dressed in a mechanics coverall, who had been watching the approach came to the pod and the pilot exited the craft.
Helmet and goggles were removed and she was revealed, flaming red hair and gorgeous green eyes.
The old man said “How did the new energy-binder perform Miss Sheryl.”
Sheryl Vienar said “excellent and the pod is fast enough to compete in the large race on Malastare. It can be a winner this time. I will send a message to my brother Boyd on Coruscant. Maybe he has some time off from his work for the supreme chancellor to come and watch his little sister.”

RE: Three heroes
Chapter 1
Sheryl Vienar had contacted her brother Boyd but he couldn’t come.
Sheryl was a small woman and the youngest of the Vienar family. She had celebrated her 23th birthday a month ago. She was 16 years younger than Boyd and he always called her his little sister. She had been fascinated by mechanics all her life and when she was six and Boyd had come home after his first year at the police-academy, riding his police-speeder she had begged him to take her for a ride. He had done that and from that time she was hooked on speed.
She got her first speeder when she was ten and began to modify it until it could run about twice as fast as originally intended. It also gave her the first speeding ticket and who was giving that? Her brother, who was just on his first patrol for the Alladea-police-dept.
She went to the technics high school and earned a degree in engineering.
At 16 years of age she built her first pod-racer and Scot Turring became her trainer.
‘Boyd is always busy because of that dratted war’ she muttered.
She began to ready the pod for training with the help of her old trainer Scot Turring.
Scot asked “Is your brother coming?”
Sheryl said “No, he has to go on a mission next week.”
She walked to the cottage to change in her racingclothes.
As she came out dressed in her red suit Scot came to her holding a message.
Scot said “Mail-delivery came with this and I don’t think you’ll like it.”
She began to read it and said with disgust “All races cancelled on Malastare because of a separatist attack. Now I have to wait again for the next race.”

Chapter 2
More than a year passed without a big race she could attend to. Only the local races held on Alderaan and on some planets in the vicinity of it were visited and she ended always in the first group often winning first place.
One sunny day it was when Scot came to her cottage with a big grin on his face. He said “Next month is the big Malastare classic and you can enter it because of your winnings on Alderaan.”
Sheryl hugged him and said “Yes now we’re getting somewhere.”
She walked to the comstation and contacted her brother “Yes, next month, Yippee, see you.”
She said “Boyd is coming to Malastare. Now he can see what his little sister is up to”
----
Two weeks of training followed and by the end of the second week she had cut 5 minutes from her record on the local track on the Alderaan plains.
She began to overhaul the pod and repaint the hull.
Scot was on a mission to get a freighter and she saw him coming in for a landing on the big field near the cottage.
They loaded the pod and their belongings in the freighter and took off.
---
Boyd Vienar was using his unmarked transport from the detective-agency of the supreme chancellor again and sat in the pilot-seat. In the co-pilot-seat was his childhood friend Luciano Robi. He met Luciano more than a year ago when a violent storm was raging on Coruscant and he had taken shelter in the Jeditemple.
Many meetings followed after that day and they were sharing a lot of days together with bachelor Luciano becoming the uncle for Boyd’s kids. His wife enjoyed this visits of Luciano or ‘Rob’ as he was called by his mates from the firedept.
Boyd guided the transport to a landing on the field near the racetrack.
---
Sheryl was guiding her pod through the first training-race. She had one K to go to finish it and as she rounded the last bend in the track she shoved the thrusters forward and the pod came, engines screaming, down the last stretch and over the finishline.
She exited the pod and Scot was there to meet her and two men came running towards her.
Boyd said exitedly as he hugged her and took her of the ground “My little sister, she is speeding again. Shall I give you another ticket?”
Luciano said “Hoi Sheryl, you have grown and become more pretty than I remembered from my days on Alladea.”
Boyd said “let’s go for a diner.”
Sheryl introduced Scot as her trainer and the four of them walked to one of the large restaurants of the racing-track.
Sheryl and Scot discussed the race of tomorrow and Sheryl finished “it will be easy for me.”

Dogger thanks for the reading and here is the next update
Chapter 3
At another table in the restaurant two men were discussing the races and the war.
One of them was Milindus Migilian. He was a good looking human and owned one of the largest pod-racing stables.
Podracers loved to work for him and being in his stable was a sure sign that you had made it.
Podracing was not his main business however. That was producing medical supplies and instruments and he owned a large factory on Chandrila. One of his friends was Mon Mothma and she had asked him to support her in her plans for stopping Palpatine.
Milindus had no love for Palpatine at all and his pod-racing stable was a good cover to travel the galaxy and deliver supplies and meet with others.
He had recently attended the Boonta Eve classic podrace and met student doctor Tonia Egvards.
Tonia had no love for Palpatine either because her friend was killed a year ago because of that dratted clone-wars. He was only helping an injured pod-racer.
---
Boyd stretched lazily before he opened his eyes. Today was the big race of his sister.
Yesterday they had a nice evening having diner in the hotel where they had rented rooms and Sheryl and he had been telling each other their adventures. Luciano had told his and Sheryl wanted to know everything about the Jedi.
Boyd knew some Jedi-stories too and it had been very late in the evening when they retired to their rooms.
He went to the fresher and heard sounds coming from the room next to him. ˜Hm Luciano is awake too and my sister is no doubt already at the racetrack."
A knock on his door and when Boyd opened it, Luciano greeted him "morning Boyd. Today is the big day for your sister."
Boyd said "yes and when she places she will get new contracts for racing."
Luciano said "come, let's get breakfast and our lunchboxes and go to your sister."

Chapter 4
Sheryl was finishing the last new painting on her pod and when she looked at it she was very pleased. The entire pod was red and on one side a figurine of a leaping Lingalan was seen emerging from the sea. Sitting on the Lingalan was a human female with flowing long white hair. On the other side two husans were seen each with a rider and racing across a plain. No bridle or saddle was seen.
Boyd and Luciano came walking towards her and Luciano said “hey, I see you liked my stories.”
Sheryl said “yes and those stories you told me about that Jedihealer Kaagi were so inspiring for me. Riding animals like that gives the same freedom as podracing. It’s a pity Lingala has no podracing.”
Luciano said “Dylan and my former chief Tad Henny are living there and the four of us can visit them for a short vacation. I can ask the Henny brothers about it.”
Sheryl said “after this race I have some free time and I would love it.”
----
A blaring horn signaled the opening of the racetrack and Sheryl hopped into her pod and ignited the engines. Accompanied by Scot, Boyd and Luciano she drove to the entrance of the racetrack where the three men took seats in one of the large stands after she was at the start and gave the signal that everything was working properly.
A red light was flashing and Sheryl prepared herself.
As soon as it would turn to green she would shove the trusterbars full forward.
She gunned her engines and the entire pod shook from the power of the two great engines straining to break free.
A green light flashed brightly and with screaming engines Sheryl took off gaining the lead before she reached the first bend in the track.
The engines were performing beautiful and she had absolutely no trouble in the race.
---
Luciano said “yes great start Sheryl.”
Boyd said “that’s my little sister, giving every boy the look of her back.”
They were watching the race through a viewscreen and soon it became apparent that the other racers were no match for Sheryl. She finished first and a well known man from Chandrila approached her.
Boyd said “That is Milindus Migilian and he owns the largest racingstable. He is very wealthy and is a good friend of Mon Mothma, a very influential woman from Chandrila. If she gets the job she will become famous.”
Scot came walking towards them and said with a big smile “she has a new job and I can remain her trainer until my retirement in two years time.”
Boyd said “let’s celebrate this” and the three men walked towards the hangar where Sheryl was with her new boss. They exchanged greetings and went towards a restaurant.
After dinner Sheryl said “I have to leave tomorrow for another race on Ganaris and I cannot go with you to Lingala.”

Yep, some of my stories are coming together in the next weeks, months.
Chapter 5
Shika Diir, a Shistavanen Jedi and a healer, landed her medical transport on the landingpad of Ganaris University Medical Centre or G.U.M.C. and exited it. She was met by a middle aged woman with dark blonde hair who introduced herself as Lia Neitha.
Lia said "I have been expecting a Jedihealer. Master Aaqu Maerhin had sent me a message about two months ago that the burnsalve was depleting fast with all those injured coming to the temple and general hospitals."
Shika smiled and shook hands with her. She thought 'it's like I hear Siri talking. No wonder Obi-Wan was so confused when he was helped by her when he was injured.'
Shika said "I am Shika Diir and Master Bant Eerin sent me. Master Aaqu left the Jeditemple more than three weeks ago and he said to me when he left "be mindful of the future" He didn't tell me where he was going to."
Lia said "I remember master Aaqu and master Kaagi Adin. They were so nice and caring for Obi-Wan when he was injured after a crash with a speeder. After they had taken him to the Jeditemple for more specialized treatment, they came back for some rest and recuperation. They helped me with lessons for the students and Kaagi taught them his kind ways of giving therapy. Obi-Wan helped a young boy who had a great aversion to needles and told me how to do it with other patients. And his girlfriend Siri came to surprise him after a few days. Obi-Wan insisted we had the same voice."
Shika said "that's right, you have the same voice."
Lia asked "are they alright?"
Shika said "Obi-Wan is alright but Siri died in the battle of Azure."
Lia said "sorry to hear that. They were so caring and such great friends although they loved to bicker and banter."
Shika said "yes bickering and bantering was their way of expressing their great love for each other. And you should have seen Obi-Wan and his master Qui-Gon, they were like father and son to each other. When one of them was injured the other flatly refused to leave the healer's ward and I even gave the uninjured member a bed in the same room."
Lia said "from what I have seen of Obi-Wan he must have had a very nice master. "
Shika and Lia talked some more about the Jedi and in the end Lia said "the new batch of burnsalve will take some time to make. You can stay in our guesthouse at the university."
Shika said "that's great and I like to help you with teaching the students."
Lia said "they will like that."
Lia guided Shika towards the guesthouse and for the next days Shika taught at the university.
Shika met Dorrin and Teryn Nigwin and befriended them. Dorrin was very pleased when she helped him with a mechanical problem and she helped Teryn when she was caring for a little child.
---
Sheryl had parked her racing-pod in the large transport of her boss and took a speeder towards Ganar city and the harbour. She was smiling and Milindus congratulated her. They would meet the man she had defeated at one of the restaurants.
Before the race she had received a message from her brother that he was enjoying himself immensely on Lingala at the place of Sam, Don and Tara Henny. Luciano had visited the two brothers Tad and Dylan. Both men had wished her luck with the race and that was what she needed.
Ganaris was an easy track through plains and an abandoned industrial complex and she did win this one.
The only one who gave her some tough competition was a local and he was from Ganar city and he owned a large garage. She had met him before the race and he had introduced himself as Yosh Begtin.
She had said "the winner pays for the dinner" when Yosh told her of the great restaurants famous for its seaweed-delicacy and she had loved the race, winning only 10 metres ahead of him.
Sheryl parked the speeder and they went inside where they were welcomed by Yosh Begtin and his wife Inez. Some small talk followed and soon Sheryl and Yosh were talking about pods and speeders.
Yosh said "my speeder was improved greatly after a visit from the Jedi. Master Obi-Wan Kenobi was leading the negotiations and I had befriended Anakin Skywalker. He was a wizard with everything mechanical and when they left his master was injured in an accident with a malfunctioning powercoupling. We were testing our improved speeders when it happened.
Anakin stayed at my house until he returned with his master and two healers to Coruscant. The Jedi returned with two of his friends to recuperate at and Anakin joined me again at the garage. He had made a droid for me."
Sheryl said "my brother has told me of a Jedi he had met on Anaxes" and she told the entire story ending with "Boyd ended up at the Jeditemple after a swim through the sewer with Anakin."
Yosh said "yuck, no doubt looking and smelling dirty. Just like that healer Kaagi I have met. He was always looking greasy and when I first met him I thought he was a mechanic and a pilot."
Sheryl said "yep Kaagi. Luciano has told me many stories about him. He is very nice but always looking like a youngster."
---
In another corner of the restaurant sat Shika Diir. With Lia and another couple from the G.U.M.C. Dorrin and Teryn Nigwin she was sharing dinner. A holoviewer was displaying the victories of the republic.
Dorrin said "my son Dorian has joined the republic military and has become a pilot and is serving on the Endeavour, which is currently staying at Coruscant."
Shika Diir said "this war costs us dearly. Many of my sisters and brothers have died and the Jedi are spread thin around the galaxy. Many of them are leading clonetroopers as generals. Generals and they are beings who abhor fighting."

Chapter 6
After the diner Sheryl said goodbye to Josh and Inez Begtin with a promise to meet at the next Ganar main podracing event and drove towards the transport parked at the Ganar-spaceport.
As Sheryl was securing the speeder in the hold of the transport Milindus came walking toward her with a harrowed look on his face. He said “Sheryl I have some bad news for you. There has been a bombing on the Coruscant Galactic Shopping Mall and your brother’s wife and children were among the casualties. He will come to Alderaan for their burial. I have ordered the pilot to take us there immediately.”
Sheryl started to cry and said with a sobbing voice “why, who did this, why is this war affecting us all?”
Milindus said “it was a seperatist attack and a bomb was planted by them to create mayhem and confusion. This war is going out of control and that Palpatine guy is just becoming too influential. I have never liked him and when he became supreme chancellor and ordered all those troops to go to war it brought shivers to my body. I know some senators who oppose Palpatine. One of them is from your home-planet Alderaan. Palpatine has been in that office far to long and I hope his rule will come to an end soon.”
----
Sister and brother, father and mother stood with tears flowing silently as the mother and two children were buried in the family-grave of the Vienars at the outskirts of the small town of Alladea.
Luciano Robi’s parents were present and Milindus and his entire group.
The police department of Alladea was standing guard of honour. Boyd had been their colleague for a long time before he became a personal detective of Palpatine.
Sheryl comforted her brother after the burial and Boyd said that he would bring to justice the beings that did this.
Sheryl saw him board his transport with tears in her eyes and she walked towards her speeder. Milindus had said she could take some days off and she went to visit her parents who had grown old. ‘Was the war affecting them? Loosing your grandchildren and granddaughter like this in a senseless bombing is devastating.’

Disclaimer song the Bug is from Dire Straits
Chapter 7
Dorian Nigwin was flying with his squadron in the space above Coruscant and he loved that new improvement in his Eta-2 Actis interceptor. The HUD had been updated and a new droid was installed after his former one developed a glitch in its programming.
He was singing a little song he had heard once when he flew with one of those Jedi-generals, a young boy named Anakin Skywalker. ‘Hm even younger and already a general. Those Jedi are really special.’
one day you got the glory
then you got none
one day you’re a diamond
and then you’re a stone
everything can change
in the blink of an eye
so let the good times roll
before we say goodbye…
His wingmate interrupted him with a smiling voice and said “time to return to the Endeavour.”
Dorian said “yes” and he took his fighter in a hard turn.
---
A 17 year old boy and an old man dressed in simple garb were unloading supplies at the spaceport of Alladea.
The old man was Magin Bhik and one of the Jedi leading the agricorps. He had been a field Jedi during his long years serving the order and had joined one of the agricorps teams when he became injured during a mission that left him with a permanent limp in his left leg. Loving to be outside in the nature he had asked for a job on one of the planets where the agricorps was staying and that had become Alderaan.
The young boy was Alwin Karao and he had dark spiky hair and green eyes. He was saved from a cruel fate when Yoda freed a group of children and took him to the temple. He was 1,5 years old and his family couldn’t be found and when Yoda tested him he found some Force sensitivity.
No master took him as a Padawan when he turned 13 and he had loved it when master Yoda had said that he could work at the agricorps on a beautiful planet. And it was the planet where Master Magin Bhik was going to and he liked the old master.
Alwin saw Sheryl walking away towards her transport and he said to his mentor “Magin, that’s our champion podracer Sheryl Vienar. I love to see her race and I have followed every local race of her on Alderaan.”
Magin said “yes Alwin and from what I have read on the holonews is that her brother’s wife and children died in that bombing of the Coruscant Galactic Shopping Mall.”
Alwin Karao said “that’s terrible and I hope the Jedi will make an end to this war soon. I couldn’t become a Jedi-apprentice and help them.”
Magin said “you have been a great asset to the agricorps and have learned much. I am proud of your achievements.”
Alwin said “yes and maybe I wasn’t strong enough in the Force. At 13 I still couldn’t lift a tiny rock using the Force and my lightsaber kata’s were clumsy. I even couldn’t help that young master Kenobi when he was injured during a mountaintrip. Only Anakin’s lightning fast Force push sent that boulder away before it crashed against that master’s leg. And he was saving Tirzana at the same time.”
Magin said “yes Anakin and Obi-Wan, they are two of the heroes of this war. Kenobi is the negotiator always trying to avoid fighting and Skywalker is the hero with no fear.”
Alwin said “Obi-Wan was always very kind to me and he comforted me after that accident and even took me for a ride on a husan. He taught me a lot about animals and nature and showed me the beautiful places in the gardens of the temple. He has told me that he had been sent to the agricorps too but the Force led him to his master Qui-Gon and he became a Jedi. And Obi-Wan talked with me before I boarded the transport to Alderaan and after that I was convinced I could become a great agricultural specialist.”
Magin said “yes Obi-Wan had seen that perfectly and even in the agricorps we are living and honouring the way of the Jedi. Come let’s go back to the farm.”

Morri Sinna had entered his office on Coruscant and was very pleased. Palpatine had given him an extra bonus of credits for the spectacular bombing and he connected his PDA to his computer. ‘Time to make a copy of this diary’ he thought.
He mused and yes his life had been good for him. He had started his jobs for Iwana Needa when he was a young underrated bombmaker for one of the Hutts of Nar Shadda.
One of those lousy Jedi had interfered twice with his plans and the second one landed him behind bars on that dratted planet Lingala. A man had freed him from that prison and he could take his revenge on that Jedi a few years ago. He smiled when he remembered Obi-Wan being hit by those arrows and going down poisoned. The Jedi recovered but – Palpatine was assuring him – he was in for more peril.
Reading that report on Jabiim and Obi-Wan’s torture by Asajj Ventress had been fun and he had seen him when he came back: weak and his clothes hanging around a thin body and with a devastated look on his face.
And yes, those wars were devastating for the Jedi.
His comlink beeped and Palpatine informed him of a new mission.
---
Boyd Vienar had returned to Coruscant and visited Luciano Robi before he went to his apartment. He had tried to contact him at his station in the Jeditemple but was told that he was assigned to another station.
Luciano welcomed him and saw something on the face of his friend. He said with a soft voice “something awful must have happened.”
Boyd said with tears in his eyes “my wife and children died four days ago in that separatist attack on the Coruscant Galactic Shopping Mall and I have come back today from Alderaan” and he told the entire story.
Luciano comforted Boyd and together they mourned the lost lives.
Boyd said “where have you been these days?”
Luciano said “I was attending the memorial service for the 46 rescue workers that died in that mall and among them was my first group from the Jeditemple and four days before that I was on duty at the station of the fireships.”
Boyd said “I thought you were stationed at the Jeditemple firestation.”
Luciano said “no my new chief and I had a disagreement after a rescue alert. Mace Windu saved a trapped being using his lightsaber and Chief Rosco was not pleased and became quite angry when I told him that Jedi could save beings. And that ended me at the station for the fireships.”
Boyd said “another Chief who should learn a lesson from the Jedi, just like that chief Sebeler. And I will begin my investigations into that bombing tomorrow.”
Luciano said “does Palpatine allow that?”
Boyd said “it doesn’t matter if he does or doesn’t. They will be private investigations.”
