The War to End All Wars. Trek Wars
Prologue:
The Alpha Quadrant. Sol System. 13.12 hours
Two large, sleek vessels slipped silently through the vaccuum of space, passing between a burning orb of a star, and the dim red glow of a nearby planet. They moved side by side, like twin dolphins swimming through a black sea. One was slightly larger than the other, but the smaller appeared to have a much rougher texture to its skin.
**
"Bridge to engineering," a strong, commanding voice cut through the droning of the pulsating warp-core. "Are we ready to proceed?"
"Almost, Captain," replied the tight voice of the cheif engineer as he bustled between work-stations, tapping keys to bring up displays and diagnostics. "Barclay?"
"Y-yes, sir?" the other engineer replied, glancing up momentarily from his station.
"Is everything ready on your end?"
"Yes, commander La Forge. It's a-all ready."
Geordie La Forge tapped his chest, activating the communications device. "Captain, we're all set down here."
**
"Excellent, Commander, prepare to engage on my mark," Picard said, and tapped his comm-badge. He turned to his first officer, who was looking extremely concerned. "Now all we need, Number One, is Voyager's word and we will be heading to a whole new quadrant."
"Where no man has gone before, Captain?" Riker replied, forcing a smile through his worried visage.
There was a buzz from the computer terminal behind them, and the Klingon Security Cheif looked down from his post. "Sir, Voyager are ready to proceed."
Picard let out a deep sigh, tugged down his black shirt out of habit, and tapped the comm-badge again. "Mr. Data, are we in position?"
"Yes, sir, both vessels are in perfect alignment to perform the maneuver," came the almost monotone reply. Even the android seemed anxious about the possible dangers they were about to encounter.
"Very well. Mr. Worf, open a channel to both engineering sections." There was a pause, then a beep. "Enterprise to engineering... Engage!"
**
The hum of the engines, all four of them, became a high-pitched whine, and a bright blue bubble formed around them.
**
"The Warp shell is holding," Data informed the bridge crew, who were tightly hanging onto their stations as the ships began to vibrate. "Energy levels will be sufficient to enter transwarp in approximately five seconds... four seconds... three..."
The computer console bleeped flatly at him.
"Sir, we have a problem---"
The tremours became a quake, and the Enterprise rocked as though it were a ship in a heavy storm. Sparks flew throughout the bridge as computer banks and power conduits errupted under the strain of the violent shaking, and the crew were hurled around the bridge.
Only the android, with his mechanical balance, managed to remain in his seat to witness the breathtaking display on the crackling viewscreen. The stars shot into lines, which then streamed together and vanished. Bright clouds of colour and light streamed past the ship, appearing and fading like fireworks, and bright blue patterns swirled around the screen.
**
On the USS Voyager, the second ship taking part in the experiment, the crew were also scattered across the already battle-worn bridge, and only a Borg could see, and appreciate, the familiar sight of streaming stars and the entrance to the colourful cocophany of transwarp. It appeared that, though bumpy and almost certainly damaging to the ships, the attempt to swifly return to the Delta Quadrant would succeed.
**
"Mr. Data," Picard breathed, hauling himself to his feet. He caught a glance at the starfield in the viewer, and saw a dusty looking planet, hovering near two huge stars. "Where are we?"
Data's pale fingers skipped across the control panel of his console, which bleeped repeatedly at him. "Sensors are detecting temporal disturbances across the hull of both vessels, and the starfields match no known star charts from our galaxy. Apparently, we have traveled a greater distance than we intended, in both time and space." He turned in his chair to face the rest of the bridge crew. "The most accurate answer I could give to our location, Sir, would be that we are a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away..."

Interesting beginning. I'm a fan of well-written ST/SW crossovers. I'll be keeping an eye on this.

I had an idea like this once, quite similar to your idea. I'll be watching this to see just how close it is to mine.
I like it so far.

I've not abandoned this story, by the way, just got hit with writer's block. It went, but then I got mushy inspiration and started writing something else. I'll be back soon though!
