Wow, I thought I was the only one into Jewish girls. There is something about them that makes the former Catholic school boy in me go absolutely insane. When I read she was born in Jerusalem it made it all the better. A gift from God!!!!!

Well, any single men here who like Jewish girls are welcome to give me a call. wink

I think Spike has a point. Carrie Fisher was obviously considered very attractive by the standards of the 70's, and even if future generations of viewers don't think she's as beautiful as Natalie Portman, they should understand the archetype Leia represents just from the way her character is portrayed in ANH.

Wasn't there a rumor Jodie Foster was going to be cast as Leia? Or am I way off base here?

I believe you're correct. There were talks of Koo Stark being cast as Leia but she instead was cast as Camie, Fixer's girlfriend.

Isnt she like 50 now?

Carrie is 46. And I do not think she looks like an old hag, despite what some people claim. She's rough around the edges, as anyone would be if they'd lived the life she has -- and unlike many of her peers, she's eschewed plastic surgery. But still, I think she is beautiful.

Here's a pic taken when she was 30 or thereabouts:

Here's one of her in a sheet:

Here's an image taken a few years ago (you can really see how much she resembles her mother, Debbie Reynolds, in this one):

Here's one advertising her show on Oxygen:

I think that scene makes her look better than Padme. Padme did lose some of her clothes at Geonosis but still Leia was in a bikini. He he he

Maybe in 806 days we will see a more revealed Padme.

I agree Shelley. I gotta admit, I still find Carrie Fisher attractive.

The thing I've noticed, that even when Leia was younger, she still looked a little older than her age...Padmé just has that young, sexy look to her. Leia did look more older or mature. Anyone see this as well?

Yeah, you're right. Leia looked more mature, Padme has more of a "baby face."

Maybe its a sign of the time (talking in SW terms)? I mean, Leia grew up in a dark, oppressing place. Padme seemed to have a nice childhood.

Leia always had a more mature, older look to her. Her deep voice added to it. She seemed to be older than Luke, even though they were the same age and Carrie Fisher is five years younger than Mark Hamill.

Lucas said that Carrie was the youngest actress he tested who gave off the worldly air he wanted for Leia. Despite her diminutive stature, you could believe that she'd mouth off to her captors and boss around her rescuers.

I think we're wandering away from the bikini

People agree, get back to the bikini, or padme...

Yeah, the bikini...

I remember and essay by Carrie published in Newsweek (the one with the HYPE cover from around TPM) that she said that the bikini was ahem...revealing and the puppetteers playing Jabba got a remarkable "show."
