Welcome!

In this thread we shall discuss everything that will be or might be changed to the upcoming DVDs of the Classic Trilogy - new and/or altered scenes, fixed and/or added visual and sound effects, dialogue lines, etc.

Among them your favorites: Greedo shooting twice, Shaw holding hands with the Monkey Woman and Hayden stepping on Jabba's NEW tail wink


Discussion is supposed to be within the TOS, including respecting somebody's opinion and not discussing the fans.




The one change that was debated the most has received its own thread in The Star Wars Saga Forum. Feel free to point at this thread whenever its discussed in too much detail again:
Vader/Anakin Ghost in Jedi aka The Dual Persona Theory™
the other source of much redundancy: "How is that possible?"


Let me remind you of some limits:

This thread is meant specifically for discussion about the actual changes in the OT DVDs, and not for general disussion of SW-or-otherwise change itself. This thread deals with the changes and how they may/may not affect the CT and Saga. Only the new changes in the DVDs can be discussed here, anything else will be edited out.

If you want to talk about change in SW over the years, such as past directorical decisions by Lucas and so on, take it to SW Community.
If you want to talk about just change in general (including references to other films), that's not even SW-specific. Take it to the JCC or maybe Amp (ask the forum mods!).


We also encourage you to repost any new information coming up in here in Thread#1, in order to keep them easily accessible.

I don't think he can answer until September 8th.

Now on to the discussion: [sarcasm]I can't believe they got rid of Shaw! What were they thinking!? The scene has lost all dramatic impact! How will Luke know who he is? That guy with fully functioning limbs, hair, non-pale-white-skin, and no scars looked exactly the same as the guy who Luke unmasked whereas Hayden looks NOTHING like him![/sarcasm]

EDIT: I'm so used to making thigs italics i accidentally typed i instead of the word sarcasm.
