Ya know that's an intersting theory, but that brings up an issue I've always had with the Ewok's treatment of humans.
Yeah the Imps are bad and all, but if Cindel and her family already befriended the Ewoks, Wicket especilly then why did they try to BBQ the Heroes?
Surely they'd have clued in that they were worthy of the same treatment as Cindel's family was.
There humans, not faceless troops in white.

Yeah it doesn't make sense either that Wicket can't speak Basic anymore and looks younger in ROTJ, the explaination given to these problems is that the Ewoks became distrustful of humans scince the Empire came to Endor and that Wicket simply forgot how to speak Basic. I prefer to think of the Ewok movies taking place after ROTJ, which would ruin the theory of the dress being Cindel's mothers, the better explaination would be that Leia had it in her backpack, it does kinda look like a nightgown.
