I'm very sorry, because this is probably not a new topic, but I have to ask.
Obi Wan teaches Luke how to use the force in the MFalkon for a few hours, and then Yoda teaches him for a few days, and then in ROTJ, Luke has masterd the Force and is almost a Jedi, just like that. I mean, how long did it take him to become a Jedi? Anakin was refused because he was too old, evan though he had this great power, and 10 years later under the training of a real Jedi he was still not allowed to take the trials. I wasn't under the impression that Luke's powers were bigger than Anakin's. Please explain.

yoda did not teach luke for a few days try a few months.
And luke is anakins son so he has a natural gift with the force.

Luke was trained for several weeks, possibly a few months on Dagobah, you just don't see it the entire time, as then that'd be a helluva long movie.

Anyways, Skywalker was also trained for one thing, and one thing only: To kill Darth Vader. He wasn't trained in all that diplomacy crap the other Jedi were trained on, how to read minds and hold your breath for hours. Wasn't trained to pilot starfighters or operate mechanized armor. He was trained in the art of war. His training was that of personal combat, instructed by the best in intensive one on one training. Most of the things a Jedi has to learn comes through your own living experiences, through regular education (which Luke had has done both), he was just focusing on combat. There would be plenty of time to truly learn the ways of the Force after Vader and the Emperor were dead.

They are dead, every single one of them.

They were like animals and I slaughtered them like animals...

Yeah, but when the empire discoverd where the rebels were hiding in ESB and Han and Leia fled on the MFalkon and were captured by Vader on Cloud City that couldn't have been all happening over several months. I mean Luke came to rescue them right away. So how was he trained for several months? And in RotJ he was very advanced when he came to see Jabba, how long did they wait to rescue Han? And we know Luke didn't go back to Yoda in that timeperiod. So is he just that good?

So, you are saying that Luke was trained to kill Vader??? Well, during that training, Yoda tells Luke that a Jedi uses the force for knowledge and defense, NEVER for attack. So you are also saying that Yoda and Obi-wan are going against everything they have believed in and send train to to kill?????

Months on dagobah like already mentioned.

It's kinda hard to envision because the movie makes it seem like a day or two but it wasnt that short.

Mfalcon was running from the emperials for a week or so. Then travelling to bespin took awhile because no hyperdrive. Then of course at bespin wasnt just a matter of a couple days either.

Would make for a pretty long and boring movie if they showed all teh down time.

Also Luke wasn't being trained to just kill Darth Vadar, to go any further into the why's and what's would be minor spoilage.

But Vader was on Cloud City before Han and Leia showd up, why would Vader wait a couple days or weeks until he captured them? I think they were on Cloud City like a day before Vader got them. And, ok, so they were traveling for maybe 2-3 weeks. So that gives Luke 2-3 weeks tops to train with Yoda. It took Anakin over 10 years of training (and remember he was exeptional in his power)and he couldn't defete Duku.

Because Yoda and Obi Wan lacked the luxury of time and because of the Purge, they gave Luke the bare basics and hoped for the best. They obviously couldn't give him the proper formal training as a youngling and do the whole Master/Padawan thing. They knew Luke had the best chance of success, and if not him then Leia. Being the son of The Chosen One certainly helps in advancing as a Jedi quickly.

So Luke is more powerful than Anakin? That's all I want to know.

Well I don't know if The Force has a cumulative effect with each generation, but Luke in ROTJ is more powerful than Anakin. But also consider that Luke was the last of the Jedi, so there are no other Jedi to compare him to. His skills are not as refined as those in the PT era, but I would say his "raw Force power" is greater than any average Jedi if there were any. This also goes into why Palpatine wanted to replace Vader with Luke. Since Vader was part machine, he had peaked in his power in ESB. He couldn't advance anymore due to that limitation.

Is it possible that Obi and Yoda transfered their Force to Luke after they died? So Luke has now the Force of Obi, Yoda and his own which is great since he is the son of The Choosen One.

Luke is never a "True" Jedi, not like the old days but he is the a new jedi. He fought Vader twice. He had the power of a Jedi, but he's skill never did get close to the old Jedi's of his Father's days.
Yoda just said, your a jedi, cause he is the closes thing to one.

I don't think Luke was more powerful. He wasn't easily seduced like Anakin was.
