	I was in Germany in 1977 because my father was in the Army. I remember my Aunt calling us and telling us about a great new sci-fi movie that was taking the world by storm. I even remember the AAFES news report showing me the first glimpse of an x-wing. The rest was history. But it wasn't until the second theatrical release before ESB that I actually got to see the movie in a theater. I did get to see the movie in 1978. It was on a video tape at a slumber party I went to. That was the coolest party I ever went to until then (and in some ways even since lol). The wildest thing about the bootleg is that it was different than the one in the theater. There was a scene with Princess Leia spitting on Darth Vader and it sizzling. The Red/Gold leaders had different colors (Green/Blue I think). And Vader's TIE fighter blew up. I would LOVE to see that version again. I was hoping to see some of those scenes in the DVD release. But no, they weren't there. Does anyone know if clips from those deleted scenes exist anywhere? EV Edit: Changed the thread title a bit

	this is the weirdest thing i've ever heard. What scene does she spit on Vader? the blockade runner scene? i'm getting scared.

	I think it's when she's first introduced to Vader. Not really a princess-like thing. The weirdest thing I remember about it was vader wiping it off on his cape and looking at it on his hands in almost a sexual way. Given that Leia is his daughter, it's even creepier. I did find this "... Vader's first appearance on the Tantive IV. I liked the part where Leia spit on him and it "sizzled on his still-hot armour." Gives the Impression Vader had to mix it up during the boarding action, which would've been something to see. " It was in a NewgGroup.

	well all that stuff was in the novel i think. Probably yet another case of peoples memories simply confusing what they saw in all the print materials and the actual film. Just like all the people who swear they saw the Biggs scenes in 1977--they just read the novel and storybooks and saw the photos and their minds confused what they saw in their head with what they saw in the screen. as far as i know the only difference between prints of ANH were the stereo and mono mixes, which had a few additional sound effects between them. Stuff like Gold-Red leaders being changed to Green-Blue would require entire re-looping of the dialog, and this is not likely to have happened. Looks like its just a childs imagination playing tricks with his memories. Hey, i could have sworn i saw the Biggs scenes myself as a kid, but it turns out i just read all the material on it and my mind was tricked. 	It wasn't a production print that I saw. It was a little different. The thing I distinctly remember was Tony and all the guy telling me: "You gotta see this. She SPITS on him. It was like the only reason they wanted to watch the movie. We were 11-12. Then we watched the French Connection and the Exterminator on video and stayed up until the next day. I was the only one who handn't seen the video of Star Wars and had to watch the rest of it the next day when everyone left. I guess it's possible I just made up the memory. I was a kid after all. I do remember talking to someone else several years ago on this board mentioning a copy of it existing.

	I was reading that there were several 70mm prints that were circulated prior to editing. The version I saw was from a bootleg made in Korea on a BetaMax. If you really do have the AVI of it, I'd love to see it to know I'm not insane. I did send a query to Cerrie Fisher and George Lucas. I know it's like asking the Pope to sign your birthday card, but who knows.

	I have an avi of the Biggs scene not the spitting one. When I 1st read this thread I thought it was silly but now I am getting some Lea spitting on Vader flashbacks!
