The Official Ewok Hippie Leia Thread

Remember when Leia goes off with the Ewok she meets in the forest after she gets shot down from her speeder bike?
Well a little while after that, when the whole gang is about to be the Ewok's main course, Leia comes running out with her hair all long with hippie braids, and a hippie shirt made from hemp?
I remember years ago watching that in the theaters and people were laughing when she came out. Like, "what the hell has she been doing?"
Wasn't that scene a bit strange? I mean I guess it was to show that a few days had passed so she needed a change of clothes and a bath (and felt the urge to give herself hippie braids), but what, did she have those clothes with her in her backpack? Is there an ewok seamstress who designed those threads specifically for a 'really tall ewok'? Did she introduce some mind altering drug to the ewoks (that was no cracker she gave Wicket!) or did they introduce some to her?
What's the deal with that scene?

Is it just me, or does Carrie Fisher seem to age about ten years when she dons that outfit? We start off the film with her looking great in that slave girl outfit, then later she looks really cute in her Endor fatigues. But when she's in that...thing with that...hairstyle, suddenly she looks like her own mother! [face_shocked]

I think she looks nice with the long hair and in that outfit.

It's the biggest mystery to me because here they are on a primitive planet with a mega important mission, and Leia gets lost, and what does she do?
Does she find a means of contacting the others as soon as possible? No.
Does she try to organize the ewoks into a hunting force so they can take the imperial troops on while trying to locate her friends? No.
Instead what she do?
She changes clothes, let's her hair down, braids up a few, and is somewhere in back doing God only knows!
It's not right I tell you!

Well, there are always some abnormal ones in group, that's when the brothers make babies with their sisters, and all hell brakes loose. You know what I mean, Come on, you ever notice that *really* tall Jawa in ANH?? That's a good example! Who knows, maybe that one deformed ewok, said "hey, she's about my size, yo princess wanna borrow some clothes?" And thats where Leia got them from.
Who knows, perhaps an elderly Yuzzum woman was passing by and sold Leia her clothes, you know, as a souvenir?
Well, who really knows/understands the odd and strange ways of the ewoks? I do believe this is a mystery that will never be solved....

Yeah they really did laugh! Even my dad was like 'what the hell?'
It was so out of place, I mean here our heroes are fighting for their lives trying to get to the shield generator and Leia's getting all dolled up in the back making ewok brownies for everyone.
And when she found her friends as their about to be cooked, did she go all out to save them? No. She simply says, "But these are my friends!" Like, "Yeah they're cool. They won't snitch! Why can't they be down?" And I mean, they're not only about to kill the heroes, they're about to EAT them!
She must've ate a lot of those brownies.
