I didn't vote. I don't care because the ORIGINAL trilogy is no longer on the market.

When my VHS tapes get all scummy with age or my player stops working and nobody would repair it because it will be obsolete, that's it. The original trilogy will be gone.

Lucasfilm is free to do what they want with SW. But I wish customers had the choice of what trilogy to BUY.

Only if Sean Bean were cast as Han Solo. ONLY.

And even then, I wouldn't want it remade if I could avoid it.

Ok if they do remake the original Star Wars movies and from the looks of it...most of you don't like that idea. Here is all you gotta do DON'T BUY THEM!! but knowing SW fans they would go and buy them and complain about them till the die. Just like they did with ATOC.

You don't have to worry about us not buying them, because a remake will NEVER happen. Lucas has the movie rights to SW wrapped up forever and I'm sure he's not interested in remaking movies...after he's already completed FIVE of them, going on SIX. He'll take this series to the grave and no one else is going to be able to "legally" remake any of them in our lifetimes.

No, absolutely not!

Someone said: "I will take my crappy special effects, fake looking aliens, and plot holes thank you very much."

The only crappy looking aliens in SW is Boss Nass, Jar-Jar, CGI Sy Snottles, CGI Yoda, the bartender in AOTC and the silly monsters at the arena in AOTC.

No, what I do want is a remake of the Prequels. With full scale models like the Falcon in TESB and the Sail Barge in ROTJ. And not so much crappy CGI that looks like it's painted and not even there. And while there at it, take a real fruit next time Padmé wants a bite.

And they should replace some of the actors to make them have the chemistry Fisher, Hamill and Ford have.

Have you ever seen a GOOD remake of a classic movie...Me neither! It just doesn't seem to work. You can't capture lighning in a bottle twice. Plus, the movies had an entirely different appeal in the late 70's and 80's. People really needed a lighthearted fantasy to take their minds off of daily events. The average person today is much to jaded to "fall" for a lighthearted remake in the same way.

Here's the ONLY good remake of a previously successful movie I can think of: "The Fly"

Here's a few of the hundereds of bad ones that were embarassments compared to the originals:

King Kong
Rollerball
Time Machine

There's been very very few even half-way decent remakes like "The Thing" "The Blob" "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1970's verison) These flicks were OK... but if they were going to be just OK, why bother watching them when the originals are so much more fun? To see people wearing updated clothing and a "modern" (also-soon-to-be-dated) soundtrack?

A total remake of SW will never happen and there's no need for it. The story is timeless.

Here's one way of looking at it:

I certainly wouldn't want a remake of my mother.

Of-course not! This is Star Wars were talking about. Star Wars. A entire galactic fantasy about good and evil; one that makes me feel like a kid again, and again, and again. To remake the beloved Star Wars trilogy would be the worst idea in the long history of bad ideas. But... maybe if they redid the OT people would like the PT a little better! grin

I say nay!

As someone has already stated, i would prefer Lucas to re-make the OT completley rather than doing "hap-hazard" extra bits to fix continuity errors in the OT, but if i had it my way the PT would fit the OT perfectly instead but GL is his own man and lest we forget he does have final say on how it goes as he did invent Star Wars, i think pepople forget this somtimes and treat it like a personal insult when somthing new comes along or is even rumoured. Ill accept anything that he deems fit for HIS films.

I can't even believe someone would start a topic like this. Let alone that people voted yes. I just don't see how people could try and see Han Solo, but not as Harrison Ford. And the voice of Darth Vader, everyone knows the voice. I just can't see Vader, or any of the characters, any other way then the way they are now. So NO!
