	No offense to the girls who have been hurt before but I'm sorry, the whole "I'm hurt so therefore I will turn away from any potential chance to meet a decent guy" doesn't fly with me. Sometimes people need to take chances, but other times they need to do a little research. In my opinion, and this is just me, a lot of girls are attracted firstly to a guy's looks. THEN they look for personality. I dunno. There is more to it than that, I know. I guess I just don't understand how girls can overshoot genuine guys just because they are genuine! What, because a few guys pretend to be decent, that's reason to believe ANYONE who is noble in words and acts is a potential ass? Sorry, not flying. I just don't understand, I guess. By the way, I can guess which mod you are talking about Neon, so feel free to PM me and rant. 	Perhaps not, you have to be in their position to understand. I still don't truely trust my bf after a year of dating him for the reasons I've stated, even though for the most part he's been sweet, and once in the millenia, a gentleman in both actions and words. But then again, I've had a pretty tough past with men, so I feel I'm in the right with my feelings. 	Let's remember that chivalry wasn't so hot to begin with. The whole concept was that women were weak [emotinally and physically] and that was the reason they had to be treated so nicely. While I do think some of the things that came out of it were nice [its just polite to pull out chairs and open doors for women] I just don't like the underlying meaning of it. As for the issue of getting hurt, I can understand what Neon is saying. One of the things that makes relationships [God, I hate that term] so hard is fear of getting hurt. I mean, the whole fear of even starting a "relationship" is the fear of being rejected ie hurt. But at the same time if you don't risk you can't gain anything right? But who am I to speculate? To quote my pal Peter Parker "I'm the founding member of the lonely hearts club." I dunno. BTW Neon I'm kinda worried about you. 	I agree with everyone here. There's not much more to say. It's all a "point of view" discussion. What has happened to people alters that greatly, so I don't think anyone can truly understand where another person is coming from. Anywho, new post at Under the Desert Suns for anyone interested. 	oh force! This is the first time I found the fortress on page 2! What a sin! Now for everyone whos seen Chicago... is it good? I've heard good things from all my friends, but my mom, whom I trust, says it was horrible... should I go see it? On to the subject that being debated here... I think I accidentally started it by saying that I was guy-less on V-day... sorry! I have no experience with guys what so ever, but I'm a great listener, so all my friends come to me to spill problems. Here in Sandusky, the girls do tend to judge a guy by appearance first, personality second. But you have to remember, those people are the ones that sex maniacs and cheerleader/football players. excal I see where you are coming from for this "nice guy" thing, but it works both ways! Guys go for girls that have the perfect figure, chest, rear, and face. Personality usually comes second for us too. I don't really think there's a way to explain why all this happens, maybe we can blame it on society. Like how you were saying movies. Again that goes both ways, guys and girls... And that chilvalry thing is just the most perfect dream, we all eventually figure out that it doesn't happen that way. Just be happy with who you are, there is someone out there just right for you, you just have to keep searching. I'll admit though, even if a girls been hurt before, she has to give everyone an equal chance, but you have to be willing to work for that girl too! I don't know if any of that made sense?
