	Part Eleven: Accommodations Luke stood and picked up the bags watching as Han rose to his feet. “You ready to do this Han?” He asked. “Yeah Kid, again I’m sorry about beating you up like that.” “You’re stressed, and I can understand that. You’re trying to pull off an almost impossible ruse, and be a dignitary at the same time, that alone is definitely not your style. Not to mention we’re on a proslavery planet, which goes completely against every moral you hold dear. Trust me you are about as stressed as they come, complete emotional overload.” “Yeah but I shouldn’t be taking it out on you.” Han said stepping up to face him. “I know. I wish I could say I completely forgive you for that, but I don’t at least not now it’ll take a little time.” “Glad to hear you say that Kid. I want you to take time to forgive me, not let me walk all over you. I was wrong. Just promise you’ll forgive me eventually?” “Didn’t I already promise that?” Luke questioned. “Yeah, but after this incident…well I got a little worried.” “Worried? You must be under emotional stress, you don’t worry.” Luke commented with a laugh. “I worry about my friends…Leia, Chewie, Lando, Wedge, and especially you. For some reason you been trying to sacrifice yourself for every noble cause the Alliance could come up with, and I’ve had to come and pull you out of the depths of every hell you’ve willingly thrown yourself into. Every time you’d walk away, the first thing that hit my mind, was `yep, Kid’s going to commit suicide again, better go save his butt.’ ” Luke smiled broadly at the comment. “We better get going Han. Time to slip back into those slave and master mentalities again.” Luke started down the ramp. “Yep.” Han said, following. “By the way-“ Luke started, breaking his descent. “-I didn’t know you and Leia were engaged?” Han had to think a moment then remembered the comment made by Welsher, while he was asking if Luke was…well he didn’t want to think about that comment again. “We’re not.” “The Chancellor seems to think so.” Luke commented. “Let him think what he wants, but I haven’t even proposed.” A pause filled the air, and Luke and Han locked eyes for one last moment. Shifting back into their before spoken mentalities, as they exited the ship. ************ Nicholas waited intently for General Solo and his servant to emerge. He had heard a scream moments before, but dismissed it quickly. The general looked like a harsh man. No doubt he kept his slaves well disciplined. He noticed the way the boy had resisted the touch of his master. Luke, he believed that was his name, was most likely being punished. He looked toward the shp again. He had to say it was a bit worn out for someone of General Solo’s magnitude. Nicholas could tell by the way the general dressed, the expensive fabric used for the garments, the swagger in his stride, and not to mention his class A slave illustrated that he was well endowed. You think with wealth like that he could afford a better ship. He was a general of the Rebel Alliance, for kreath’s sake! Surely he has money to burn. He saw the two exit the ship, and straightened immediately. How he envied that man. Nicholas would have given anything to have been part of the Alliance. He was a slave though, and had no citizenship rights, not even with the Empire. He remembered trying to escape bondage a few years back, what a mistake that had been. He was captured, and taken back to his master. After 3 days of excruciating punishment, he was sent back to work. It took him almost 3 years to get back in his master’s graces again, another year and he had become his master’s personal slave. “Luke come on!” The general yelled. As they strolled up he noticed the bruises stretching down Luke’s face. A beating. He should have figured as much, what else would have taken the general so long. //I wonder what he did to warrant that? // Nicholas thought. “Nicholas right?” The general said. “Yes sir.” “I’d like to get settled in. When is dinner served?” “1800 sir, an hour from now.” Nicholas replied. “Good, that’ll give me time to freshen up. Luke.” Nicholas had been right, his name was Luke. He watched as Luke ran up quietly behind General Solo. “This way sir.” ********** A few moments later they were walking down one of the wide marble corridors of the palace. Light from the setting sun, streamed in through a series of floor to ceiling windows, bathing the hall in a rather ethereal appearance. Hues of orange and red glistened off of bronze statues, and the tapestries that covered the walls grew warm in the heat of the evening sun. Rounding a corner, Han took time to look up at the rather ornate 12 foot high ceilings. Carvings of forests creatures and gods of long gone civilizations were dug into the woodwork and stone above. Around them floral arrangements and trees of all sorts lined the walls in expensive porcelain vases reminding him how Corellia smelled on a warm spring day. They walked for a good 20 minutes, up grand staircases and down many hallways, all of them looking alike in decoration. “Your quarters sir.” Nicholas said handing Han the access card. “Thanks kid.” He said unlocking the door. A moment later Han stepped into the room and nearly gasped at the sight. It was by far the most expensive and beautiful place he had ever stayed in. Decorations thousands of years old cluttered the room’s walls, shelves and bookcases. He studied the bed and the closet before continuing to the fresher. The rooms had all the latest in technology and frivolous comfort, not to mention its overwhelming size. Han forced back a smile at the lush life he would be leading for the next couple of weeks. Turning back he caught the sight of Luke, eyes downcast and withdrawn. Han’s happiness sank in an instant at the sight. He felt shame build up in its place; it’s too bad the Kid couldn’t enjoy this with him. Luke certainly needed the rest and comfort for a change. He needed to escape the life of the Rebellion for a little while and just settle down for a few weeks, dismissing all worries and cares. Now that he had the chance though, he couldn’t. The worst part was that he’d probably be worked twice as hard. Han didn’t need to escape reality as much as Luke did. “Where do you want your bags master?” Luke asked. “Just set them on the bed Kid.” Luke did as he was told. “Would you like me to unpack them for you master?” Han thought for a moment. This would give him a chance to be with Luke as a friend for a little while, who knew how often they’d be able to do that? They needed every chance they could get to discuss the mission here. “Yes Luke. Nicholas where will my servant be staying?” “In the slave’s quarters sir. They are in the south passage. I will show them to you after dinner. I hope everything meets your qualifications sir.” //Meets? They exceed! // Han thought, he couldn’t tell him that though. He was supposed to be wealthy. Han kind of frowned at the thought of where Luke was staying, but there was unfortunately nothing he could do about it. “It’s not bad kid, I’ve stayed in better, but they are very nice. Please tell your master I am pleased with his choice of accommodations.” Han stated with a smile. Nicholas smiled back. “Then I shall leave you alone sir. I’ll be back in a half an hour to escort you to the dining hall. There is a map of the palace and the grounds on the computer terminal if you need it and of course Alandor Valley, its facilities and servants are at your complete disposal sir, my master hopes you enjoy your stay here.” Nicholas bowed then exited the room. Han continued to watch the door, then turned his attentions towards Luke who was still unpacking his luggage. Han knew he was waiting for him to sweep the room for bugs and visual equipment. After the task was complete, Han watched as Luke settled to the floor beneath him. “You okay Kid?” Han asked as he began to transfer stacks of undergarments into the Bachori wood dresser. “Yeah, just tired. You got all the bugs right?” “Yeah the place was pretty clean. Guess they trust the Rebellion more then I thought.” After the last of the luggage was unpacked Han settled down on the bed. “Luke, you don’t have to sit on the floor, when we’re alone you know.” “Yeah.” Luke replied with a laugh, as he rose to his feet, and settled on the bed a few feet from Han. “So did you feel anything strange from Welsher or the other nobles who were with him?” “Nope, nothing yet. You did make quite a first impression though.” “Is that good or bad?” Han prompted. “Good. You earned a lot of instant respect. They don’t suspect anything.” “Well we just got here, give it some time. You going to be alright in slaves quarters Luke?” Han asked getting straight to the point. “Han where did you think I’d be staying? In over priced accommodations like this?” He said gesturing the room. “They can’t be too bad. I’m sure I’ve slept in worse.” They spent another 10 minutes discussing inane conversation, when a knock rang loudly from the wooden door. Luke moved to sit on the floor again, and Han fixed his clothes a bit as he opened it. “Sorry to disrupt you sir, but dinner is about to be served.” Nicholas said with a bow. “Yes of course. Luke.” In a moment he was on his feet and at Han’s side. “This way sir.” ************ "Father really! I don’t think General Solo is going to remember us.” Sarah said as she seated herself to the left of the Grand Chancellor. “I’m sure he will. How could he forget my two lovely daughters? Especially after you chased him around the courtyard and jumped on him pretending to be a Corellian warrior from those old legends your mother used to read to you.” Volin replied. “No she chased him because she had a crush on him.” Mina said with a smirk. “Did not!” Sarah yelled. “Did too!” “Now both of you quiet down this instant. I will not tolerate this at the dinner table.” Denni demanded. “Your mother is right. Enough is enough.” Volin agreed, meeting his wife’s gaze from across the table. A pause settled in the room. “Father?” Mina spoke. “Yes darling?” “My 18th birthday is in a few days, does the promise you made me still stand?” Mina asked with soft gold eyes. “Promise?” Denni asked. “Yes, daddy promised me that I could have one gift of my choosing for my birthday, no matter what the cost.” She stated excitedly. “Volin? Why wasn’t I informed of this?” “Sweetheart, we did the same thing for Sarah when she turned 18, remember? That’s how she got that 2000 year old book of Corellian sonnets. The one written by Kelsim Hier?.” “Well yes dear. I just wish you had mentioned it to me.” Denni replied with a smile. “I remember how long it took you to talk the Corellian Intergalactic Museum into selling you that priceless antique. One doesn’t see handwritten paper books anymore.” “Mina, have you found something you like?” Volin asked his daughter. “No not yet. I’ve been looking at that string of Gallinore rainbow gems from the Hapan cluster. But other then that, I haven’t found anything of interest.” She answered. A moment later Nicholas entered the room with Han and Luke at his back. Mina took another sip of her drink before resting her gaze on the two visitors. General Solo was handsome; much like her sister had told her since the discussion of his arrival. However her eyes were glued to the young blond haired man behind him. She knew he was a slave; it was evident by his clothing and demeanor. But never in her life had she seen a more attractive man! He was absolutely breathtaking! Chancellor Welsher was on his feet in moments, greeting his friend. He walked Han around the table, as Luke stood close to the wall. “Han you remember my wife Denni?” Volin replied. “How could I forget? Madame…I trust you are doing well?” He said placing a kiss on her outstretched fingers. “I’m doing splendidly General Solo! Of course you remember our daughters, Sarah and Mina?” The two girls stood up curtsying gracefully. “Good evening General Solo.” They said in unison. “Mina? Sarah? These can’t be your daughters Volin! When I left they were merely children.” Han said stepping around the table to greet each of them in turn. “That was 15 years ago my friend.” Volin commented with a laugh. As they sat to eat, Sarah noticed her sister gazing back at the young man who had entered with General Solo. She could tell that look from at least 10 miles away. It was the look of intrigue and want, something Mina had down to a pat. Her sister was so incredibly spoiled. Sarah watched as the young man sat down near the wall. She could see why her sister was so mesmerized. He was very attractive, his slim figure completely flawless. He stared up at her for a moment as if he knew she was looking at him. As their gazes locked, she felt her blood turn hot and her face blush from the intense blue color. He looked towards the floor again, and when she finally returned from the tailspin of the event she caught Mina looking right at her, an expression of jealousy and anger worn across her fair complexion. She backed down from the heated stare of her sister, fearing for the boy. Sarah resented slavery, but her sister was all for it. Mina turned her attentions to the boy again. //Happy 18th birthday.// Sarah thought. 	At last, our Villian is revealed! We've seen Luke face Darth Vader, the Emporer Reborn, Mad Clones, horrifying monsters and ravenous beasts, bounty hunters, crime lords and all manner of villiany and scum - but has he ever seen the likes of a Snotty Rich Spoiled Brat? I think not! I LOVE it! Great idea Princess! I'm glad this story lives on... and I really hope you aren't posting right now at this same moment! Oh boy. Look out Luke!

	Wow wuch quick response! Baroness: No this will be his first fling with a spoiled rich brat. I think he'll find he got off lucky on the Death Star at Endor. MariahJade2: Yeah he's in trouble, more then you realize. Abbi_cee: Han might not let him go without a fight but does the Alliance have a choice in the matter? This could be used against them, think of all the trouble it'll cause. The Alliance doesn't know Luke's real reason for being there. They need the contract, and Han may just very well have blown it, by putting Luke in the position he's in, and now reusing to sell him. If he sells Luke then think what problems it'll cause. Either way everyone is going to be against him. Leia's not coming in for awhile. 	Princess, Excellent posts! You seem to have all the characters' personalities down right, and I loved the bit with Han talking about proposing to Leia. As for Luke's situation, I agree with the other readers, he's in far deeper than he knows. It should be interesting to see what happens from here on in. Somehow, I have a feeling that a situation is going to come up quite shortly that will really pose some problems for Han. Either he lets the truth out and ruins the charade (which would really be a shame, considering how well you write) or he will have to let his feelings of friendship sink even further below the surface and hope that Luke can handle it. Glad you liked it, and yeah Luke has no idea what he's let himself in for!It's going to cause some problems, and there will be some friction between Han and Luke, so keep your eyes open.
