Hi, I've written some music, wondering if anyone would like to use it in a Fan Film?

The peice of music is called Excalibur, and is a full orchestral peice. (Written using Cubase SL and Edirol Orchestral).
It can be found on my web-site here: (Am not allowed to link to the peice directly
).
www.ic-musicmedia.com/DarrenTomlyn
It was originally written for an FMV sequence for a friends computer game, on my old Amiga A1200, and was intended to be performed by a large choir and a good rock band. Unfortunately I have never been able to get it performed like that, and this orchestral version is the best I can do. However, since the main influence for the peice was Duel of The Fates, (John Williams, Episode 1,2&3) - it's somewhat fitting
I know it'll probably need re-arranging before it can be used for any project, but I deliberately made it very modular, so it shouldn't be that hard to do. In it's current form it is exactly 17 minutes long.
I'd like to hear what people think...
Thanks.

depending on the energy and mood of the film...it could really fit for some films

Not bad at all....
A couple of suggestions.
The main drone. Though a recurrent motif like that ties a piece together it did tend to get old quite quickly. Might I suggest that you concider more variation, other than just the chord progressions. Moving the motif around amongst the instruments and octaves, possible as a higher register counterpoint to itself at some point. Film music tells a story as well as the dialogue and action, and the drone made this story drag after a while.
Also...the steady 8th note beat. Maybe try redoing the drone a bit with some cross-beat ties...syncopation...it draws the listener along and helps the flow from measure to measure.
Keep it up!

RE: Hi, I've written some music, wondering if anyone would like to use it in a Fan Film?
Thanks everyone for your replies
(P.s. I've updated it again to v1.2 - (minor 'bug-fixes')).
As to the syncopation - thats what the percussion is supposed to add - BUT - I can't do percussion to save my life
(I write tunes and harmonies - (Tunes which work with other tunes) - and anything other than simple (repetitive!) percussion is too hard for me to manage
(Need help!)).
As to the running 8 beat in the background - it's supposed to be that way - (though in a film there would be passages where it would deeper in the background, obviously) - it really helped keep things moving in the video sequence it was written for, and in a longer film you probably wouldn't want just this peice running all the time anyway...
(P.s. I'd love to have this in the same key/(half)tempo as Duel of the Fates so they can segue in and out of each other... - I think the first part of my main tune & bass line would work over the first part of Duel of the Fates too
). (Anyone know what key/tempo Duel of the Fates is in? (Excalibur is in B-minor/115bpm)).
Thanks...

Ta.
Well - it's easier to write a peice too long, then cut it down to fit than it is to not write enough
(In it's original arrangement it was 15m14s long, which fit the FMV sequence exactly
(I'm annoyed I didn't manage to get a copy of the video before my friend left for the US though
)).

FTR, I use Winamp, which also works fine. (I really like it's library system).
