Depending on the official size of your film, I may be able to host it on my site, http://www.realitycrash.com/ Right now my latest entry is The Black Iris, a non Star Wars film. I can't guarentee that I'll have enough webspace but I can try. If you need a web page created for your film, I can do that too. I prefer films already done or close to being done with an available trailer. Basically my goal is to have Reality Crash Productions become a place where artistic expression on all levels and genres are available.
Thanks!

Spaceports.com can host up to a 20 MB File size. It doesn't matter, I know because I've put up a 19MB file there once.

Anonynous Jedi: According to SpacePorts main page, they offer PHP scripting. PHP scripting is only allowed in the CGI-BIN directory on the free account. MySQL support doesn't come with their free package though.
According to SpacePorts 's FAQ, if you want to host any video or audio files you must FAX them a letter that proves you are the copyright holder of that media.
But one thing that I have found is that places that give away free hosting with support for server-side scripting (Brinkster, 7Host) have allot of downtime because because you have allot of newbies writing really bad scripts that consume server resources or crash it altogethor.
As far as free hosting like ProHosting above, just wait a year. I garuntee you it will be gone or they will have restricted the service in some way. I've been making websites for about 6 years now and every great free web hosting service I've seen has done this. I remember when xoom came into being and followed them to when they added unlimited space. I signed up with Crosswinds when they offered limitless space and bandwidth with no ads. Xoom became NBCi and then they disappeared. Crosswinds has pop ups galore and no FTP. You have to approve sound and video clips as well.
Free services either disappear (Xoom/NBCi, SWFans Hosting) or start restricting their services(GeoCities, Crosswinds, etc.). They may give you lots of space but will restrict the types of files you can upload (sometimes no videos), allow only small files (no larger than 1 or 2MB), and of course they bog your site down with ever-changing and more intrusive advertising. Heavy bandwidth restrictions like those at GeoCities are common.
I've followed some great websites hosted on free servers for years and they have moved around from one free service to the next.
If you just need to host your video long enough for TFN to view it you should be fine. But if you want long-term (more than 1 year), reliable webhosting you have very few options:
1) Use your ISP's free hosting (usually no ads and pretty good uptime, my old site is still hosted on an ISP that I dropped 2+ years ago!)
2) Find a friend who has his own website
3) Pay for it.
If you decide to pay for it, GNXOnline is a great service that offers inexpensive, feature packed domain hosting packages on both Windows 2000 and Linux.
I currently host three websites with them:
Aqua-Plex.Net
NashvilleForce.Com
Rebel Legion (new website coming soon)
I register my domain names with GoDaddy Software. I went through the InterNIC's list of accredited registars and they were the cheapest among the entire list.
In the end each website costs me about $60 per year. That's pretty good. I went with a Windows 2000 Premium account which gets me unlimitd FTP, 200MB, "unlimited" bandwidth, very little downtime, full ASP and MySQL support, 10 e-mail accounts, etc. I sent an inquiry to WebHostDirectory and no one was able to beat that.
Like I said if you just need to host it for a while, your fine. But if you really want long term, reliable hosting you won't get it for free.

I saw that JediToren, but it doesn't mean a thing unless I have MySQL
I had a host that gave 20mb, Perl, PHP, and MySQL support with no ads too... they dropped both of my sites without telling/warning me. Oh well...

Yeup. If you do find someone that provides you with those services, be sure to post it in this thread.

After doing some extensive research I have found some nice plans actually.
NiceWebs.com
This offers 15mb, MySQL, PHP, Perl, free, however their free servers are full ATM, but you can request one at the forum if you have a solid project, read the bottom of the front page for more.
Portland Communications
This offers 15mb and full CGI access with no pop-ups or banners.

Well how about my server? http://diehard.ath.cx
free webhosting
no banners
no traffic limit
not limited space yet... will eventually get limited in a short while though...
also mysql and php support
Just go to the board, register and write a pm to "madppiper" (me) with your username and your password
that's it...
I'd enjoy hosting your site... and movies... but remember I'll kick you instantky as I come across pornography or illegal stuff (warez/hackz/crackz) on your directory...
well hope you're interested
Paul

What kind of connection are you using. Your site says max available is 760 some-odd kbits/sec. What kind of hardware are you running on this bad boy?
Is this your own computer that you are also using for a web server or is this a dedicated machine?
