RE: "Official" Dungeon Magazine Star Wars Thread.
It's nice we got some more info on it.
Star Wars in Polyhedron Magazine
March 19, 2003
Players of the Star Wars Roleplaying Game from Wizards of the Coast now have a regular source for additions to their campaigns through articles in Polyhedron magazine, a publication dedicated to d20 System gaming resources.
Since the demise of Star Wars Gamer magazine, players have been looking for gaming material that may not warrant an entire supplement book but is nonetheless in demand. Polyhedron will now start printing such articles as part of its regular suite of offerings, which include a new d20 System Mini-Games, d20 system adventures, news, maps, and rules expansions. Upcoming Star Wars content includes campaign tips, new starships and creatures, player character classes, and more.
Polyhedron appears monthly as part of the award-winning Dungeon Magazine, which is available on newsstands and gaming stores. Star Wars coverage begins in Dungeon/Polyhedron #98, which hits newsstands in April.
Learn about a strange sect of Force-users in "I, Jensaarai," an article inspired by Michael A. Stackpole's novel I, Jedi. The Jensaarai are presented as a prestige class, with complete statistics and background source material. Also in the issue is "Starships of the Galaxy," a breakdown of a new starship for players and GMs to incorporate into their games. The article features complete statistics, floorplans, and illustrations of a sample starship, the Wayfarer.

Ok, I got the article and still reading it. I have one question. It says that the Jenissari, and I paraphrase "lack a code of abstinence, so they enlarge their groups with their own force sensitive children". By that sentence are you implying that the jedi have a "code of abstinence"? I mean no official source has used that exact term, as far as I know, just a jedi code against love, if there is actually a code that mandates abstinence, that clears up many things.

So, I take it #98 has been out? I called and asked about my issue and they told me it does not come out until May. Are they giving me the run-around?

All I know is that the map included in the article was an excellent bonus to a cool article.
I think all Star Wars products should contain a small map like this showing where in the galaxy the story takes place. We know from the official site that they're keeping track of the location of every planet anyways.
I'm also glad because the placemnt of Suarbi will allow me to place a few other things on my map.

Apparently the price per year has been raised to $45.

Yippee! My issue #98 arrived. Also I apparently got nearly a full years subscription for paying my $19 renewal a couple of months back.
Anyone want to take bets on how soon it will be before Dungeon is cancelled? I think they may lose quite a few subscribers by essentially doubling the annual subscription cost (even if there are more issues). I also think that any new subscribers due to the consolidation of multiple games into this mag will not make-up for lost subscribers.

Because we don't have a regular schedule for Star Wars content in Polyhedron, that would be tricky. Also, the confusion generated by people recieving non-sequentially numbered issues would probably be a big headache for our subscription fulfillment people.

Well, since
Gamer
got the kibosh, I've received 4 issues of
Dungeon/Polyhedron
. One issue...
ONE ISSUE
has had Star Wars content in it. At this pace, we'll get the equivalent of one issue of
Gamer
every two or three years.

What exactly was the Star Wars content? Was it purely game related stuff or a short story?

It was kind of a mixture of gaming stuff, backstory stuff, and art. There was a little (one- or two-page) article on a type of ship with a RPG (grid) map of the ship and some background on the ship. There was also a feature on the Jensaari. Here's a
topic
about it.
