	This was mentioned in the Clone Wars TPB Resource Thread, but I figure this should have it's own seperate discussion thread. Randy posted recently (in the Republic #58 thread) on DHC's website: "Uh, regarding the ten-issue countdown series... ...well, that's off. The reasons for its cancellation-before-work-on-it-was-even-begun are long and complicated, and best left alone. Suffice to say, the countdown doesn't/won't exist. We're still working on ideas for a shorter arc that might be able to take its place, but it will be a while before we know whether we can get anything off the ground." A shame, I was looking forward to that "maxiseries", since it had the potnential to be the most significant SW comic since Dark Empire. 	Hehehehehheh, all is proceeding as I have forseen! Well maybe not but close to it. Only a couple of months ago I created a thread on the likelihood of the series happening due to the then, and contiuing, shipping chaos... I just didn't see it happening as DHC hasn't even been able to produce a 4-part arc on time, still it's a shame. As Quest points out, a SW maxi-series would have been a rarity and a first. I suppose we can hope that the ideas get incorporated elsewhere or transferred. 	Perhaps it was a judgment call made to get their own house in order before tackling a project of this size and ambition -- to say nothing of the timeliness of delivery that this thing would've required -- so if that's the case...whatever. Fine and keen. Hope they've kicked themselves right in the bum over this. 	As I'm still waiting for Clone Wars 2 to ship in, I'm behind some ten issues of comics. 	Yes, it would have been monthly, ie: starting roughly around Aug or Sept 04. I don't think the shipping delays were the reason for this series's cancellation- afterall, th majority of the recent Empire delays was the result of artist deadline issues (something that would not have been an issue with the lead time given to this project had it commenced) and pushing up of issues to cover those delays. Jedi: Dooku also took longer to produce than had been anticipated, and Randy mentioned there was something that delayed Republic 58 which he can't mention out of profesisonalism. 	Looks like the closest well come to a maxiseries from DH now is going to be refering to the major story arcs as series. 	lol "Episode 3: Cancelled" the problem with doing it in short story Inisder (not that LFL cares) is that people like us Brits won't be able to procure these stories. With things like "Ellusion Illusion" (which, hey, might be a great story, but i doubt it's that significant for the overall story) thats OK, but if they're going to lead straight into Ep3 then they should make the thing more accessible. -----signature----- rooty legend 2, njofc
