The way things could have been! AU A/P COMPLETED May 24th ::Mind Tricks for Lurkers::

This is AU, ROTS Time Period. POSSIBLE SPOILERS Ok, I've finally decided to make another novel type story with several chapters. While my first two weren't exactly a stunning success as far as feedback goes, I think this one will be a little bit up more people's ally.
Just to let everyone know, there might be some cliff hangers and such, but don't worry eventually everything will be explain, in due time.
This is my first attempt at any type of Romance really, different chapters will have different elements, hopefully this chapter will have a little several different Genres, enjoy, and remember Feedback is very welcome, negative or positive.
Chapter 1.
Anakin walked slowly into the lucious estate of Senator Amidala, on Naboo. Anakin admired the scenery around him, every time he came to Naboo he loved it more and more, he had at one point hoped to raise their children their one day, but who can ever tell, with this crazy War going on.
Several Jedi Masters had been the destroyed in the last few days, by a mysterious force.
Padme, saw her lover, her man, her husband, coming towards the door, she rushed outside, and remembered she couldn't move too fast, after all she was 8 months pregnant.
"Anakin!" Padme exclaimed, as she rushed outside, to meet him. She fell into his arms, as he shifted his over sized cloak, to hug her tightly.
"Your back so soon, I wasn't expecting you." Padme said with a huge smile on her beautiful face. Anakin simply smiled at his lovely wife, and softly kissed her lips.
"Are you disappointed? I mean, I didn't catch you at a bad time did I? Anakin playfully said.
"Oh yes Anakin, I'm afraid my other three boyfriends are here now, my other two broke up with me because I'm so fat." Padme shot back sarcastically. Anakin laughed aloud.
"You little..." Anakin stopped before he got himself into trouble. "Besides, your not fat, your glowing, your beautiful, your always beautiful.
Padme looked at the ground and blushed, still to this day Anakin could make her blush with his sweet comments. Mostly Anakin tried to appear rugged and stern with others, but not with Padme, he was so sweet with her, and she could see it, and it made her feel so special inside.
"I do have some serious news though." Anakin informed her.
"Is it bad?" Padme said with a growing look of worry coming over her face.
"Bad, I don't think so, Master Windu has informed me of where the Sepritist are located. All of the leaders." Anakin said.
"So, they know? Who is being sent to capture them." Padme asked, somehow she already knew the answer. Anakin looked at her, with a slight smile, not scared himself, but sad because he knew his wife would worry.
"Ani, I'm so scared."
"Don't be my love, soon this war will be over. Many Jedi Masters, some on the council have also died in the last few days. It is because of Grievous and Sidious, but without the Sepratist, they are doomed, I will shut down all of their droid armies, and Clones aren't all their cracked up to be." Anakin reassured her.
"When are you leaving?" Padme questioned.
"They wanted me to go right away, but I told them I had some matters to take care of first, and I would be on my way." Anakin told his loving wife.
"Anakin, please be careful." Padme said, as she gripped Anakin tightly. Anakin kissed her forhead, and rubbed his hand ever so slightly between their two bodies, and he felt his child kick.
"He kicked." Anakin said.
"Maybe it's a she." Padme responded.
"No, it's definately a boy." Anakin smiled.
"We shall see very soon. Promise me, your coming back." Padme quickly blurted, again wanting reassurance.
"I will be back tommorrow, I promise Padme, and when I return, the war will be over, I know it." Anakin stated as he kissed his wife one last time, as he started to walk back to his ship.
"Ani, wait, please tell me where your going! I need to know, to keep you close to my heart tonight." Padme said.
"Mustafar!" Anakin simply put, and he turned his back to Padme, and boarded his ship as R2 squeeked and bleeped.
Padme blew her husband a kiss as his ship started to elevate into the air. She then rested her hands on her belly, looking down at the future.
Just before Padme turned to go back inside, she heard another ship docking in the bay. She turned around, and she recognized the ship.
"Master Kenobi? What's he doing here?" Padme thought to herself, as she started to walk towards the ship.
Chapter 2 coming relavitely soon, probably later today.

Chapter 2
Padme neared the ship and as she did, Obi Wan came strolling out. To her, he seemed more confident, more cocky than usual.
"Master Kenobi, what do I owe the privledge?" Padme questioned, then she suddently came to realize that he could see her gain in her mid section.
"I've come with disturbing news about Anakin, have you see him M'lady?" Kenobi uttered. This confused Padme, she decided to be coy with the Jedi Master, knowing that it would be hard, with his skills of the Force.
"Anakin, no. Why would I have seen Anakin?" Padme said almost defensively. "What has happened?"
"The Jedi Temple M'Lady, it has been taken." Obi Wan informed her.
"Taken? But how?" Padme questioned.
"It's hard to say this to you, I know you care for Anakin, he is.... your friend, but I saw the video myself." Obi Wan informed her.
"What video have you seen, Master Kenobi, your starting to scare me." Padme encouraged him to continue.
"He killed almost everyone in the Jedi Temple, Masters, Padawan's, Council members, even younglings." Obi Wan informed her.
"No, that's not true! That's impossible. Your lying." Padme said, as she started to weep.
"I wish I were, but I am not, Anakin has turned to the Darkside. Anakin has joined the Sith!" Obi Wan boldly stated.
Padme did not feel any change in her husband when she was just with him. He still seemed to be himself. She had only heard of people talk of the darkside, but something told her, it was wrong.
"I must know where Anakin is, he must be stopped, I must destroy the Sith." Obi Wan told her.
"Destroy the Sith? You want to kill Anakin?" Padme cried out.
"It's the only way Padme, he is too dangerous, he's a villian!" Kenobi said, sounding confident in his remark. "I know you have an idea of where he went."
"I must be honest Master Kenobi, I am pregnant." Padme said shyly.
"Well, I didn't want to say anything, but yes I could tell." Kenobi said, almost as if he wanted her to speed up and just tell her.
"Anakin is the father."
"You see M'lady, you know that is against the Jedi Code, Anakin has betrayed the Jedi Order." Obi Wan yelled.
"But, how. I just saw him, he said he was sent on a mission by Master Windu." Padme replied.
"M'lady, Master Windu..." Obi Wan paused.
"What?" Padme quickly replied.
"Master Windu is dead." Obi Wan said, giving the crushing news to Padme, as Mace had always been a friendly face for her to see.
"I can't tell you, I can't let you just go and try to kill him, he's my husband, I love him." Padme weeped openly.
"Sometimes you must put aside your personal feelings, for the good of the galaxy." Obi Wan said trying to convince her to give him an answer.
"No, I've been doing that my whole life, Obi Wan please leave!" Padme pointed to his ship. Obi Wan then bowed to her, disappointed, and started to walk to his ship.

"I know R2, we are almost to Mustafar. Now, when we get there, make sure you stay with the ship, we might have to get out of here pretty face, and I want to finish these guys quick, I want my revenge for them trying to kill Padme." Anakin informed his little droid.
"Bleep beep boop bop." R2 responded.
"Yes, I know I was given those orders, but I killed Dooku when I wasn't suppose too, and that ended up being the right thing to do, I'm not going to hold back, I'm ending this war tonight, I want to go home R2." Anakin said.
"Boooop." R2 responded with a sad noise.
"I just want to be with Padme, I want to go home." Anakin repeated.
His ship soon landed on Mustafar, and he exited his ship, and made his way towards a small bunker.
"Looks like the coordinates they gave me were right, I bet they are right in here." Anakin told himself.
He opened the bunker and snuck in, going down a long tunnel shaped entry way. As he got closer and closer to an opening at the end, he could hear voices. The voices of Viceroy Gunray, and his accomplices.
Anakin used the force for extra stealth, as he crept in slowly. He saw the six leaders he was sent to hunt down. Instead of attacking, Anakin thought he might have some fun with them, before he finishes them off.
Gunray turns as he hears someone enter the room.
"Oh, it must be..." Gunray stops speaking as he sees it's Anakin Skywalker. "Wait a minute, your not.... Your Anakin Skywalker.
"Wow, no wonder your the Viceroy." Anakin said as he smirked. All the men in the room then began to worry.
"You cannot take us all alive, it's impossible." Gunray said.
"I haven't come to capture you, I've come for revenge on part of Padme Amidala." Anakin informed them, as he egnited his saber.
"But your a Jedi, you can't just keel us!" Gunray voiced.
"I'm a Jedi? I think I can forget that fact for a minute, if you can. Promise not to tell?" Anakin said sarcastically, and he jumped into the middle of the frey, and took down 2 of the leaders with one swoop.
He then used his saber to bat off 2 more of the leaders, all falling dead to the ground, only leaving Nute Gunray.
"This is for my wife." Anakin said, as this was the first person he had ever admitted to being married to, but he wouldn't be around long enough to tell anyone.
Anakin then slashed his chest, and walked over to a computer main frame. He pushed a few buttons, instinctfully he knew what to do, and he shut down all the droid armies across the galaxies.
"It's done! The war is almost complete." Anakin told himself, just as long as his counterparts had fulfullied their promise as he did his, he would be home later with Padme, with nothing to do for a long time.
Anakin then looks over at a camera, and sees a ship docking outside, Anakin knows it's Padme's ship, and he feels her presence, so he goes out to meet her.
"Padme, what are you doing here?" Anakin said, but he couldn't complain too much, he was seeing his wife again, after all.
"Anakin, is it true?" Padme quickly questioned.
"Is what true?" Anakin said dumfounded.
"Obi Wan told me everything, just admit it. I must know." Padme started to weep.
"Padme, I don't know what your talking about! Please, explain this to me! I love you!" Anakin begged.
"The Jedi Temple has been destroyed, Mace Windu, Coucil members, Masters, Knights, Padawans, they are all dead Anakin! It's all over, everyone in the core knows about it now." Padme cried out the sentence.
"No, we have to go back now!" Anakin said.
"Don't do it Anakin." Padme said.
"Don't do what? I must go back." Anakin replied.
"Obi Wan told me the truth, he told me you killed them all. He told me, you've changed. You've turned to the darkside, haven't you?" Padme accused him.
"Don't do this Padme, don't turn on me! Not now!" Anakin said starting to get very heated.
"Anakin, your breaking my heart! I love you, but I can't follow you down this path." Padme told him.
"Padme, you don't understand..." Anakin paused as a figure emerged from the shadows behind Padme.
"Obi Wan!" Anakin yelled. "You brought him here, you've made a mistake Padme." Anakin yelled.
"No, I didn't bring him here. I wanted us to go far away and escape, I don't know how he found us." Padme said.
"I had to do it Padme, I had to come on your ship with you, I had to find Anakin." Obi Wan replied.
"Please don't do this." Padme screamed at both of them.
"What have you told her Kenobi! What have you told my wife!" Anakin screamed at him.
"Finally after years of lying, you finally admit it to me. Hah, like I didn't know the entire time. Do you take me as some kind of fool." Obi Wan told his former Padawan.
"Obi Wan, think about what your doing, I am the chosen one, you do not want this fight, just walk away, whatever you've done, I'll forgive you, just leave." Anakin said.
"Not a chance, my orders are to destroy you." Obi Wan said.
Anakin then becomes very angered, he doesn't know who to trust. Obi Wan stares at Anakin. They are both waiting to make a move.
Suddenly Padme is picked up in the air, by the Force and slung into a wall, knocking her out.
chapter 3 sometime soon, going to wait for some feedback, and try to get people on the edge of their seat for a few moments.

Chapter 3
"No!" Anakin screamed as he watched his wife thrown into the wall.
Anakin then jumps at Obi Wan, igniting his saber. Obi Wan blocks his charge, and the duel begins.
R2 and 3PO meet and notice Padme is hurt.
"Oh no, Ms. Padme, what happened." 3PO cries as the two droids slowly move towards her.
Anakin and Obi Wan continue to duel, getting further and further away.
"Why, did you do it Obi Wan?" Anakin yells at his former Master, as he continues to strike at him.
"Now, you are on the aggressive. The light side is not with you, but the Dark side is with me now." Obi Wan tells him.
"You've joined with Sidious, you killed everyone in the Jedi Temple!" Anakin says as he anger becomes uncontrollable, and he takes Obi Wan to the ground.
Obi Wan is able to fend off his saber, and get back to his feet as they move over a bridge, underneath them is a sea of lava.
"Now, after I destroy the so called Chosen One, this war will be over, and the Empire will reign." Obi Wan informed him.
Anakin slowly walks up back to Obi Wan, and their sabers meet again. Obi Wan kicks Anakin and sends him flying and he hits his head on a rock, and Anakin drops his saber, as Obi Wan walks over him, holding his saber blade to Anakin's throat.

Bail Organa and Yoda land near Padme's ship, and see the droids looking over her.
"Oh no, Padme is hurt." Bail exclaimed.
"Hurry, we must." Yoda said.
Bail and Yoda exited the ship, and made their way over to Padme, and the two droids.
"What happened to her?" Bail asked.
"Bleep beep boop bop beep." R2 replied.
"Hmmm. Say what?" Yoda quesioned.
"He said, that Master Kenobi did this to her, and him and Master Ani are having an argument over there." C3PO interrpreted for his little buddy.
"Twisted by the darkside, Master Obi Wan, has become!" Yoda tells them.
"Sense young Skywalker is in grave danger, put young Padme on the ship, and have her attended to by medical droids, hmm." Yoda continues. Yoda then hurriedly walks in a direction using the force, and he's followed by R2D2.

"This is it Anakin! The Chosen One's end. By his former Master! How Ironic." Obi Wan laughed as he spoke.
Just as Obi Wan was fixing to make the final death strike, Obi Wan is zapped in the back with a small electrical current.
"What the?" Obi Wan exclaimed, and looked away from Anakin. Anakin then used the force to call upon his Saber, and he strikes Obi Wan's leg off. Obi Wan screams in pain as he hits the ground.
"R2, you saved my life." Anakin told the little droid.
"That he did." A voice from the shadows says, as he comes around the corner.
"Master Yoda, he is a traitor to the Jedi, we must destroy him." Anakin looks back at Obi Wan, only to see he has disappeared.
"Powerful Obi Wan has become, find him on Mustafar, we will not." Yoda says.
"But, he was just here, how did he?" Anakin asked.
"The Darkside has many unexplained powers, but for now, we must leave, your wife, in trouble she is." Yoda says.
It dawned on Anakin now that Yoda knew he was married, somehow, Someway, Yoda knew, but right now it didn't matter. Anakin picks up Yoda, and R2 uses his booster jets, and they make a dash to the ship.
Anakin sets Yoda down, and goes to the medical room of the ship, where his wife still lay, motionless.
"Is she going to be okay?" Anakin cried out.
"She has gone into labor Anakin, the medical droids are doing all we can. But now we have to leave this planet, I'm afraid one of these volcanoes will be the end of us." Bail explained.
As the ship took off, the medical droids did everything they could to save the child's live. Anakin sat by his wife, holding her hand.
"Padme, can you hear me?" Anakin said, lovingly kissing her hand.
"It's a boy." A droid spoke up.
"And a girl." The other droid said.
"Oh my God, Padme, can you hear me? We have twins?" Anakin said, tears welling up in his eyes.
Anakin closed his eyes, and put Padme's hand to his forehead, crying openly. Yoda watched from the background, not saying a word.
"Ani?" A weak voice said.
"Padme!" Anakin said, his head jumping up, looking and laughing at his wife.
"I'm sorry, I didn't trust you." Padme forced herself to say.
"It's okay, don't leave me! Stay with me." Anakin pleaded with her.
"She is having complications from the labor and the tremendous force to her head." A medical droid spoke up.
"Will she live?" Anakin asked.
"Possible." The droid replied.
"Master Ani." C3PO spoke up. "The chances of survival from this, is approximately 283 to 1." 3PO said.
Anakin looked at him blankly, and just turned away in disgust. He kneeled back down to take his wife's hand.
"Padme, can you still hear me?"
"It would appear she is slipped into a coma, sir." A medical droid once again told him bad news.
Bail approached Anakin with the baby girl in his arms.
"Perhaps, we should let Padme rest, her vitals look good Anakin, I'm sure she will wake up soon. And there are two little people who need some attention." Bail said, to a miserable Anakin.
Anakin just sat there, holding Padme's hand, and thought to himself.
"Obi Wan will pay for this, he was always jealous of me! Obi Wan is going to pay!"

Padme__Skywalker31 - Thanks for the feedback, hoped some people would enjoy the bit of a cliff hanger, although I think I might have given it away a little too much, but that's ok. Went ahead and put a another slight cliff hanger at the end of chapter 3, hopefully more and more will get into this story.
and eventually i do promise some romance and stuff, it won't all be drama like the last 2 chapters have been.

I really enjoy writing this story, I know it might be a little fast.
But I'm going to put Chapter 4 up later tonight.

Nice little story you got going here, Obi-Wan being evil and Anakin good, nice twist. I'll keep an eye out for it.

The_Jesstar - Thanks, yea it is a twist, i'm suer it's been done in someone's story before, but I want to try to make each chapter something different.
VaderLVR64 - Yea, I will be too, I don't really like to plan too far ahead, most of my ideas come when I'm actually writing, but I have a general idea for the next few chapters.
Speaking of which... here is Chapter 4
Anakin looks over his two young children, as they lay in seperate cribs.
"When your mother wakes up, she will be so happy to see you two. You are the most beautiful babies in all of the galaxy." Anakin said, talking to his babies.
"Master Skywalker, eat, you must eat." Yoda said from the door way.
"Master Yoda, I didn't see you there. I'm not really hungry." Anakin said, then he realized Yoda called him Master.
"Hmm... For the Jedi Masters it is time to eat as well." Yoda remarked, as 3PO brought in a trey of food for Anakin.
"Need your strength you will, if you are to watch after the children, and your wife, hmm?" Yoda remarked.
"I suppose your right Master. But, did I hear you right, I am now a Master in your eyes?" Anakin questioned as he picked through his food.
"A Jedi Council, there is no more. No meeting can we have on this." Yoda paused as he thought about his friends like Master Windu. "A Jedi Master you are." Yoda pointed at him and smiled.
"What about Obi Wan? He must be stopped. What is our next course of action Master?" Anakin asked.
"Obi Wan, no the darkside has destroyed him. Now he goes by Darth Silas, seen this I have, at the Temple." Yoda explained. "We must wait until the time is right, that's what I have been told."
"Told, by who?" Anakin questioned, wondering who would Yoda possibly take advice from.
"The man who found you on Tatoonie all those years ago." Yoda answered and a smile gleamed over his green face.
"Qui-Gon!" Anakin exclaimed and he stood up.
"Yes, explain later to you, this matter, I will." Yoda said. "But now, Master Skywalker, I suggest you get some rest, hmm. Your children are better sleepers than you, yes?" Yoda said.
R2 then comes racing into the room.
"Bleep boop beep." R2 yelled hysterically. Yoda looked at the droid with an inquisitive look on his face.
"What? Padme is fading?" Anakin questioned the droid, and then he raced to Padme a few rooms down.
Two medical droids and a human doctor look at Padme, trying to do what they can.
"Her vitals are fading, I'm sorry." The human doctor informed Anakin.
"No! NO!" Anakin yelled. "Get out of my way."
Anakin then put his hand on Padme's forehead, and closed his eyes, calling upon the force, just as Yoda is limping into the room.
"Anakin, not a good iea, that is." Yoda remarked.
"Why!" Anakin said hurriedly.
"If unsuccessful you are, she could die." Yoda said, as he spoke of the Jedi technique to help an injuried or sick person.
"If I don't do it Master, she will surely die." Anakin told him.
"Very well, a Jedi Master you are, and your wife it is. Your judgement I will respect." Yoda said, as he walked out of the room.
Anakin put his hand back on Padme's forehead, and closed his eyes, calling upon all the power he holds. He grimaced, as a force power like this can put a strain on the person preforming it.
Anakin broke his concentration and exhaled. He opened his eyes, only to see the beautiful eyes of his wife, looking back at him.
"Padme!" Anakin exclaimed, as he grabbed her hand, and kissed it over and over.
"Anakin? Where am I?" Padme said.
"Your alive Padme, I did it, I saved you! I love you!" Anakin put his head next to her arm, as he started to cry.
"Where is my child?" Padme asked, then she paniced, and sat up out of the bed. "Did he survive?" Padme asked with a horrible look on her face.
"Yes, they both survived, they are in the other room." Anakin answer her, and she hugged him.
"They?" Padme asked. "I thought I was dreaming. There are two?"
"Yes, a little boy and a little girl." Anakin said. "I didn't name them yet, I knew when you woke up, if I chose something bad, you would put me in a coma." Anakin joked in a suttle relief.
"Luke and Leia will be their names." Padme said, as she saw Bail Organa standing at the doorway with the two children.
"Oh my gosh! Come to mommy!" Padme said like a little girl. "Thank the Gods!"
Padme held little Leia, as Anakin held Luke. After a few minutes they switched so Padme could hold Luke.
"They are so precious, I love you Anakin." Padme said, telling Anakin something he already knows.
"I love you too." Anakin said, as he reached over and kissed his wife.
"We should all be safe on Alderaan for the time being, your all welcome to stay in the palace, as long as you wish." Bail informed them.
"Bail, you are truly a great friend." Padme said.
"I'm just happy to see you well M'lady, it didn't look good there for a moment. You gave us a terrible scare." Bail said, as he put his hand on Padme's head as a sweet gesture, then left the room so the new family could be together.
"Anakin... What happened on Mustafar?" Padme questioned her husband.
Anakin gave a big sigh, and looked deep into Padme's gorgeous brown eyes. He smiled, then became sad, as he explained to her about Obi Wan and the Empire.

Starshine - I will keep going =) Thanks for the encouragement, just for that, I will try my hardest to get a post up in about 4 hours from now, if not, definately this afternoon, early evening.
son-of-kenobi - thanks, I am getting more feedback than I thought I would at first, and this has got me hungry to write more.
Hope you guys don't mind, but the next Chapter I'm going to try to write Romance, really for the first time.
Maybe the chapter after that, we will find out what Sidious and that Evil Obi Wan are up too =)

Just found this story...
Wow, this story is great so far! I love Au's involving Anakin Skywalker (let's face it: I love all stories relating to Anakin Skywalker )
Interesting twist with Obi-Wan going dark instead of Anakin, especially in the lead-up to finding out as the plot was virtually the same as it is in ROTS.

Marmida - ppreicate the complimant, makes me feel all nice and warm inside.
astarael - Well, I plan on having Anakin and Padme in just about every chapter, it's definately THEIR story, so you should stay happy with this one. If you thought Obi turning was a nice twist.... well I'm not going to say anything.
AnakinPadme4ever You won't have to wait long, Chapter 5 will be up shortly.
