	Hi everyone, this story is set during the clone wars. It is an AU, however there will likely be several spoliers, so you have been warned The story is based mainly around Anakin and Padme and the big test they must endure to keep their marriage alive. It is a romance, but this is Star Wars and there will be a large amount of action. As always, everything belongs to George Lucas, I'm just a fan with a story to tell. So I'm borrowing his characters Feedback good or bad will be appreciated Title - Rage of the Jedi Time Line - Pre ROTS into ROTS Charcters - Anakin, Padme, Obi-Wan, Yoda, Windu, Dooku, Grievous, Sidious, Jedi Council Members, Cody, R2, C-3PO, eventually Luke. Summary - A new type of enemy threatens to destroy the galaxy, the key is Anakin and Padme's unborn child... I dare not say more! Rage of the Jedi Chapter 1 Part 1 It was nightfall on Coruscant, however as always; the city planet was alive with activity. The large buildings of the city, dominated the skyline, some extended as high up as the clouds. Air traffic moved in organized lines, often intersecting with one another and contained various designs of speeders, both commercial and personalized. Anakin Skywalker, newly appointed Jedi knight, sat at the controls of his open cockpit speeder. He flew his speeder at an accelerated pace, through the upper layers of traffic, trying to find any short cuts he could. Having full faith in his abilities, he narrowly moved his speeder past the others and into oncoming traffic, in the process, generating a large gust of wind. The wind pressed hard against his face, his sandy blonde hair continued to come over his deep blue eyes; however it did not faze him. A steel determined expression was etched on his face; he barely blinked, as he held the steering hard in his hands. The Clone Wars had taken there toll on everyone in the galaxy, however this new outbreak, this new threat could change the fate of everyone. Anakin had to get to Padme before it was too late; he had gone against the Jedi’s orders and secretly married her, he loved her dearly and had to make sure that she would not become a casualty of this new epidemic. His heart began to beat faster, as with each passing moment, he grew more and more anxious. His metallic right, covered by a black glove, increased its vice like grip on the control, as he tried to release his nervous tension. “Padme……please, I hope that nothing has happened to you” he softly spoke to himself, as he continued to swerve his way through traffic, on route to his private apartment he shared with Padme. He knew all the short cuts home, he had to. The Clone Wars had barely given him anytime with his true love, and on Coruscant, he had to attend various meetings, not just with the Jedi Council, but also with Supreme Chancellor Palpatine, in disclosed locations all over the planet. Palpatine only completely trusted him and always asked him about the private discussions that took place in the Jedi Council Chambers, Anakin felt honoured and always obliged. He felt it could only help the Republic; Palpatine was a man of the people and would always ensure their safety, even in times as critical as these. Anakin saw the apartment and prepared for landing, he pulled up on the steering and slowly lowered his speeder onto the high landing above his apartment. Once it came to stop, Anakin used his right metallic arm, to help him leap out of the speeder on the right hand side. He landed hard on the ground and bent his knees on impact, he looked forward in his crouched position, and his eyes took in every minute detail. The large, arched entrance into the building was open; however there was nothing, but darkness, emanating from within. Anakin took a deep breath; he could sense that Padme was still in there; however he could sense that someone else was there as well. He stood up and sprinted forward towards the archway; on the way in, he pulled his lightsaber hilt from his utility belt and held it in his right hand. He entered the darkroom, Padme’s presence could clearly be felt, but he felt something even stronger. He halted his run into a standstill in the middle of the darkroom and ignited his lightsaber, the blue humming blade lit up the room slightly. Anakin raised it up to shoulder height in front of him, the blue light reflected off of his face. The room was frighteningly quiet; the only noise came from the humming blade held in Anakin’s black right glove. He moved his eyes methodically around, trying to find the source of the presence, but it eluded him. After standing motionless for a small period, his thoughts went back to his number one priority. “Padme!” Anakin shouted and ran out of the room and into the hallway. The hallway had a deep blue colour and was well lit, the wide corridors curved in both directions. Anakin looked first to his left and then his right, the place was empty. Anakin’s heart started to race as he ran down the corridor to his right, sweat started to trickle down his forehead and into his eyes. His eyes began to hurt and he used his left sleeve to quickly clear his vision. He approached his apartment, the double steel doors opened automatically for him. Anakin stopped in the doorway and continued to breathe hard as he looked around the room, he could feel her, she was in there and he had to get to her quickly.

Chapter 1 Part 2 Anakin carefully looked around the silent apartment, his humming blue lightsaber making the only noise. The spacious room was primarily dark, and apart from the light radiating from his blue blade, the only light came in from the large windows that overlooked the Coruscant skyline. Most of the furniture was barely visible, the light reflected off of the white curved sofa facing the window and onto a beautifully sculpted life size, stone statue of Padme, which Anakin had hand made. The long silky, velvet curtains, which covered the marble archway to the balcony, gently fluttered in the wind, and the breeze steadily moved through the room caressing Anakin’s face. Anakin continued to breathe heavily, Padme was not in the main lounge, but she was close by. “Padme!......Padme!” he shouted as he frantically moved his head from side to side, trying desperately to locate her. He turned to his left to face the large, curved stairway which led to the bedroom. Anakin wasted no time and ran up the marble stairs, his lightsaber moved in accordance to his right arm. He reached the top, the bedroom was empty. The small windows were left open and let in the breeze, which whistled throughout the room. Anakin turned to look at the large bed, situated in the centre room; it had recently been slept in. Anakin’s heart sank, as his worst fears crept into his mind. He was late again, he was late to save his mother and now he was late to save his one true love. “Padme!” Anakin picked up the silk sheet from the bed and held it tightly in his left hand. “Padme!” His heart pounded so hard within his ribcage, that it affected his breathing. A delicate hand came from behind Anakin’s left side and gently touched his left hand. Anakin felt the presence, he knew who it was. He held his breath and slowly turned to his left; tears fell from his blue eyes, as he looked deeply into the eyes of Padme. Padme, dressed in her purple nightgown, softly smiled back. Relief set over Anakin, as he deactivated his lightsaber and dropped it onto the bed. He placed his hands gently on Padme’s shoulders, for a moment time stopped still, Anakin could see nothing, could feel nothing, expect Padme. He looked at her with his loving eyes, Padme felt his warmth touch her very soul, and she knew she was complete. Anakin slowly moved his arms over her back and pulled her close to him, she closed her eyes, as she rested her head against his chest. Anakin increased his hold on her and rested his left cheek on her head; he wanted the moment to last forever. “Oh Anakin” Padme spoke softly, as he affectionately rubbed his face on her head. Anakin slowly lessen his hold on her, she moved back ever so slightly, however maintained a deep eye contact with Anakin. She saw the tears that had trickled down his face and used her right hand to wipe them away, Anakin anxiously waited for her to move her hand away. He moved his hands onto the upper parts of her elbows and moved his head towards hers, until their lips meet each other. The kiss was long and passionate. Anakin slowly moved his lips away from hers and kept his eyes fixed on hers, Padme’s heart began to race, as Anakin could hear her deep breathing. “Padme you’re safe” His voice was gentle and it echoed in Padme’s ear. “Of course Anakin, now that you’re here” she replied as intimately as he did. “I’ll never let anything happen to you Padme, I promise” Anakin spoke more strongly and Padme could feel that there was something bothering him. “Anakin, what’s wrong?” Anakin looked around the room, Padme worriedly watched him. “Anakin?” He ignored her again and continued to move his eyes around, surveying everything, trying to sense the eminent danger. Padme moved her hands towards Anakin’s face and held it softly. Anakin stopped and turned his gaze back towards her, tears again started to well up in his eyes. Padme could feel Anakin’s pain; she knew something had upset him. “Anakin, what is it?....Tell me” she softly asked Anakin stood silently for a moment and remembered the small moment, where he thought he lost her. “Where were you Padme? I looked over the entire apartment” “I was feeling a bit dizzy Anakin, so I was walking around the building, trying to get my orientation back” Padme replied Anakin looked at her deeply concerned; he could not bear to see anything happen to her. “What happened? Are you okay?” he frantically asked, as his breathing rate increased. Padme gently smiled and Anakin was a bit thrown off by it. “Anakin, I’m pregnant” she replied Anakin could not believe what he heard, his mouth ajar, he shook his head in astonishment. “You’re….?” Padme nodded her head as she continued to smile. “Yes Anakin, I’m pregnant” Padme placed her right hand on her stomach, Anakin looked down at it. There was no visible sign that she was, but he could sense that she was telling the truth. Anakin fell to his knees in front of her and placed his right ear on her stomach, as Padme ran her fingers through his hair. Anakin was ecstatic; Padme had given him the greatest gift of them all, he slowly stood up and looked again to Padme’s passionate eyes. Before he could say anything, he felt a huge disturbance in the Force. He turned his head to the left; he could clearly sense that there was danger nearby. He looked back at Padme. “We’re not alone”

	I just could not help it, I had to get this post up now so that I can work on the next. I want to keep updating as often as I can. Hope you enjoy it Chapter 1 Part 3 The lights of the entire apartment automatically turned on, Anakin and Padme looked around startled, at the sudden increase in intense light. Anakin held Padme by her shoulders and lovingly looked at her. “I’ve got to get you out of here” he softly said Padme looked at Anakin perplexed; she reached towards her right shoulder with both hands and held Anakin’s left hand in between hers. Anakin could sense that she was feeling nervous. “What is it Anakin?” her voice trembled as she spoke The steel doors in the main lounge opened, Anakin turned his attention to the wide marble staircase. He then looked back at Padme in concern; the danger had entered their private apartment. “Padme, go stand by the back window. And don’t move from there…no matter what” Anakin spoke with more authority and pulled his left hand away from Padme’s grip. Padme remained still, fear crept over her. Something catastrophic had taken place, which Anakin had not told her about. She looked at him teary eyed. Anakin knew had to be firm with her, despite knowing she was pregnant and could not handle such substantial emotional trauma, as before. “Padme, get back now!” he shouted, his blue eyes piercing into Padme’s soul. Padme held her breath, stole a glimpse of the staircase and ran behind Anakin to the far windows of the bedroom. Anakin watched her move and kept his eyes on her, until she was as far back as possible. He slowly turned his head back to the staircase and curled his upper lip into a snarl, as he gritted his teeth. Without blinking, he extended his right arm behind him, towards the bed, the lightsaber hilt flew in his direction and he snatched it out of the air. He pulled it towards his front and ignited it, the blue humming blade echoed in the room. Padme watched on in deep concern, she had full faith in Anakin’s abilities, sometimes even more than he had himself. However, she could not help but worry for him, the fear of losing him was too great, especially now that she was pregnant. Her heart started to beat faster, as anxiety began to weaken her legs. She grabbed on tightly to the silky velvet curtains behind her with both hands, releasing her nervous tension, while always looking at Anakin. For a moment there was an eerie silence, only Anakin’s lightsaber could be heard, but then, slow footsteps echoed up the staircase towards the bedroom. The footsteps moved towards the staircase and got louder and louder as they began to slowly climb up them. Padme’s breathing deepened, as she kept her eyes fixed on Anakin, while Anakin kept his eyes on the end on the staircase. A small trickle of sweat came down the right side of Anakin’s face, but he held his composure. The footsteps got louder and louder, a small shadow appeared in the middle of the marble staircase, Anakin caught a glimpse of it; it was getting large with each passing moment…

	Thanks... I can't believe you left it there! Really, you torture us... I liked it though. You can sense how worried Anakin is for her and Padmé's confusion as well. Very interesting... Hmm...I wonder who it could be. Part of me wants to say it's some handmaiden or someone that's not a threat at all...
