I tip my hats to the Pistons, they played us the toughest I have seen probably since the Kings from back in the 2002 Western Conference Finals. This series is going to be a dogfight and I don't know how many more games I can take like the one tonight.

As for posting in this thread, I doubt my presence will be like it has until this series is over or until the intelligence level of the posting reaches an average level. From current indications, it looks like I will be making my next post in here in about a week and a half at most.

Unfriggin-believable.

I expect Jack Nicholson to get up out of his seat and throw in a half-court shot with his sunglasses on backwards to help the Lakers win Game 3. Why not, no team gets more lucky shots than the Lakers.

The Lakers should still be scared, because as well as they played, they still needed miracles just to get the game to overtime. Pistons will win at least 2 of 3 at the Palace.

The Pistons should feel bad. They had a 6 point lead with half a minute left at the end of regulation. They had a chance to put the mighty Lakers down 0-2 with three straight homes games coming up, needing only two wins to win the series. They had this game and they blew it. The Lakers would probably be demoralized after being beaten two times in a row on their home floor. And now, the Lakers have the momentum.

Trust me, this game is big. The Lakers will still probably win the series with this loss.

Kobe has made that shot so many times, I don't really think I would call it luck. He's a clutch player.

I'm more disapointed in how Detroit blew the end of the fourth quarter by not fouling Shaq, sending to make two, and playing the passing game for under ten seconds than I am about the Lakers winning the game. They desreved to win that one, Detroit handed it to them in the last freakin thirty seconds!. Still, the series is going to Detroit now. If the Lakers play as unconsistently (and that's being nice) as they have in the first two games, it is going to be a very hard two games for them.

A very hard THREE games for them wink

I think the Pistons deserved to lose this Game. They played pretty poorly throughout, and not fouling Shaq at the end was beyond stupid. But its okay, we're still going to Detroit.

The three games in detroit will be interesting indeed. I can't see Detroit losing all three of them, more likely winning at least two. Which leaves the slight possibility that this will be a seven game series unless they do win all three, or game six in LA.

If I'm right, it's been a while since that's happened in the finale.

You're right, OGOne. The Pistons played that last possession in regulation as poorly as you can.

They should have sent two players at Kobe, forcing him to give up the ball. He would presumably have to pass it to someone inside the 3-point line, meaning the Lakers wouldn't have had enough time to run out and hit a three. Or if kobe shoots it over two players, he doesn't get as good of a look as he got on Rip. And Rip played him poorly too, playing him for the drive when he should have been all over his ass.

Dashy, I hope this post helps reassure you that the intelligence level of posting in this thread isn't as wretched as you think it is....

That was really lame, man. You should know better than that.

Kobe has been clutch this season because he totally lost his mind due to psychological problems.

He actually wasn't truly clutch before this season.

But hey... if you throw up enough junk it is bound to stick sometimes.

I don't think doubling Kobe would help that much... he'd probably still force another one and make it. They should have just done this foul-game. Get Ben Wallace out of there and foul whenever anyone touched the ball to prevent a 3-point shot. Even if the Lakers make the two free-throws they'll be forced to foul with about 7 seconds left. You make sure either Billups or Hamilton have it, and let them get fouled. Go up by anywhere from 2-5 and the Lakers will have to go the length of the floor with 4 or 5 seconds left.

Yes Kobe has made that shot a lot. And after you do it enough, you shouldn't be called lucky.

I am just bitter tongue

I had that thought too, Charlie.

Just foul whoever has the ball, since you can't score 3 points on two free throws.

The biggest play of the game may have been the one free throw Shaq made to make it 89-86. That kept it a one-possession game, which is so important in the final minute of a tight game like that.

Damnit they had this....
