I also think Kobe is talented, which is why I'm so unhappy with Detroit for letting him get as far as three pointer.

Kobe has been clutch this season because he totally lost his mind due to psychological problems.

He actually wasn't truly clutch before this season.

But hey... if you throw up enough junk it is bound to stick sometimes.

That has got to be one of the dumbest things I've seen in this thread. Thanks. happy

Thanks for proving once again how classless Lakers fans are SecondBest.

What is Kobe's record when Shaq misses games due to injury? Kobe can't even carry the Lakers for a few games a seaosn when Shaq is out... just imagine if he had to try that for a whole season... let alone 5 seasons.

Kobe is the most over-rated player in the history of the NBA.

Actually, they had a sort of similar stat about when Shaq is on the floor/per 48 minutes during this playoffs. For everytime he's on the floor the Lakers are +6 in points, when he's off they're -24. In other words, even statistically Shaq is the man for the Lakers, but not this game... this game was Kobe's.

I agree that Kobe is overrated, but not on the offensive side of the floor. He is a meh shooter but gets them when they count. His defense is what I think is the most overrated part of his game.

I actually think his defense can be excellent..as well as offense.

What I'm trying to say is that he's not overrated. I mean, people are saying he'd won nothing without Shaq, possible, even probable, but I doubt Shaq would win anything without Bryant as well.

I'm not fan of the "Kobe couldn't win without Shaq" talk either. That's not a more correct statement than "The Lakers can't (and didn't) win championships without Phil Jackson!", which I say a lot. grin

Let's see if Kobe cvan keep up with Rip over a 6 or 7 game series.

Rip was getting loose from every pick in the second half tonight. The Pistons need to keep wearing Kobe down.

Kobe's defense is over-rated too. If you have Shaq in the paint it allows you to body up against you man because your man has no intention of going inside against Shaq... so all you have to do is guard the jumpshot. Not to mention that this season Kobe has 3 hall of famers on his team. Kobe takes entire halves of games off... hell... he takes entire halves of seasons off. What other star can afford to do that?

What I'm trying to say is that he's not overrated. I mean, people are saying he'd won nothing without Shaq, possible, even probable, but I doubt Shaq would win anything without Bryant as well.

There are about 15 to 20 guys, at least, that could perform better than Kobe if given the chance to play alongside Shaq.

If Kobe had his own team like Tmac.. Kobe would be a very mediocre player... and would buckle under the pressure.. and his coach and teammates would totally hate him.

Wow, people, what a game! I don't care if you are a Lakers fan or a Pistons fan...this is basketball!

Granted, I am dissapointed as all hell, but it was a great game. Lakers squeaked through stealing a game at the last minute.

Now, the final play of regulation...obviously a huge mistake. They needed to foul Shaq, they didn't. Lakers won. Obviously a mistake by Coach Brown and Ben Wallace (who could have easily fouled Shaq). But hey, my Pistons blew the game, but they come home with a road split. And lets not forget that the Pistons shouldn't have even been up at that point in the game. The Lakers blew their lead, too.

Like I've been saying...THIS IS A SERIES.

Now, I'm gonna go see if anyone in the sports world is giving the Pistons the respect they deserve as a team (though unlikely).

EDIT: And to all of you who are saying Kobe is lucky...what are you smoking? The guy consistently makes clutch plays and shots. He got an open look and made a basket that he has probably made millions of times before. The guy is a champion, no doubt about it.

And if my grandma had a penis, she would be my grandpa.

This 'could happen' situations are so unreal. How do you know he would suck as you say? 15-20 guys? Be serious, I dislike the guy a lot, but that's just silly.

And about pressure...what do you call those 10 seconds in today's game? Not to mention Golden State or Portland in regular season.

This is ludicrous. I may not like him, but Kobe is one of the best players in the league right now, and one of the best to ever play the game. He's one of the best clutch players I've ever seen. Having to make a 3 point shot with 10 seconds left with Rip Hamilton guarding you isn't easy, but Kobe made it look that way.

You may not like him, but give him credit where credit is due happy

I tell you the real reason I don't like this year's Laker team.

They don't respect the game. Say what you will, but they don't come to play every night. They don't give fans what they pay for in terms of effort. Did anyone see Gary Payton on the bench tonight? He looked bored out of his mind. Was he cheering his teammates?

If you respect the game, that respect will come back to you. If the Lakers whine about not getting respect, they only have themselves to blame.

Not mention that Kobe has plenty of years in which to add to his excellent, thus far, career!
