Actually I think it would decrease. McGrady in Orlando has to be 'selfish' and shoot a lot, who there is capable of good numbers?
Have no idea how you think he would be better in LA, alongside O'Neill, with whom he'd have to share a ball a lot more.
I was talking about efficiency. Their numbers would probably stay close to the same but their efficiency would skyrocket.
And to Dash... who said Dirk is not in Kobe's league... there is this site called 82 games.com and they compile all of these stats and Dirk Nowitzki was considered the most clutch performer in the entire league. Ahead of Shaq.
So give credit where credit is due.
That's just not true. I can go to the basketball court and through up crazy three pointers all day and not hit one
You're point is completely invalid. You don't have to like him, but don't bash the man. He's a great player, period.
I think Kobe is a good player... but like I said... if he wasn't playing alongside Shaq he would just be an average good player in the NBA. But he would probably have self-destructed by now because he has serious psychological problems.

What about all the hype that the Lakers got the last week or two before the finals even started? No one, I mean no one had any faith that the Pistons could keep up in game one let alone win. When they did win that game and were so close to winning tonight at the Lakers homecourt, why wouldn't they hype the Pistons in the next three games?

For those of you arguing that Malone was out of bounds(as subjective as it may be), it is basically irrelevant. The Pistons had five minutes to finish the Lakers off in overtime after they blew a six point lead in the final 40 seconds+ and couldn't get it done.
I don't think anyone's denying that the Piston's deserved a loss after blowing that lead. A W is a W.
But it still doesn't make that a good call (assuming I percieved it correctly). Its not an excuse and I don't think the Pistons deserved the win.

The Pistons having another chance to score before regulation is relevent. Fisher rightfully proved that even with 0.4 you can win a game. I guess his shot could be have considered irrelevent since the Spurs had 47 minutes and 59.6 seconds to beat the Lakers?

Care to compare the stats that really count? Lets...

You are using team stats(Lskers, with bryant) against a single player(Dirk) though, thats not really fair now is it?

I chose not to get upset or down about the result of the game, in fact I feel exactly the opposite.
The Good Guys played the Lakers to a stand still in a must win game for LA, we controlled the tempo of the game throughout and had good chances to win but failed to execute in some key moments.
Anyone who thought game 1 was a fluke or that this would be a 5 game serious might want to rethink that opinion.
Last night was Kobe's night, he channeled the great players of finals past and reinvented his own place in NBA history through a fantastically charmed shooting saga that saw him hitting shots from everywhere on the floor with ease.
There are 5 games left, 3 of which are in Detroit.
I believe that we will see this series return to LA with the Pistons leading 3-2.
