Another year of lunacy. Another year of insanity. Another year of Richie Simmons. Another year of the Deranged Monkey. Another year of Dirty Sanchez. Another year of randomness. Another year of The Donkey Lover. Another year of Miguel. Another year of Nazi-esque indoctrination tactics. Another year of bein' elite. Another year of creativity. Another year of good times. Another year of good friends. Another year of FAMILY. I can't believe that we've made it to our TWO-YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Well ... yeah, I can ... but still ... damn. Incredible. For all the good times that we've had ... to all that we've accomplished ... I must say that I'm incredibly proud and drunken. And there is still plenty that we'll do and accomplish within the next year ... and beyond. Last year, during this wonderous and stupid time, I was unable to participate due to bein' in the BIG BROTHER HOUSE. Not this time, bitches. I'm excited for this thread and what it means for our history and group. We've come this far, and we ain't gonna relent now. This is our time ... down here. Up there, it's their time ... or something. Don't mind me, I'm Eric Roberts. As I look-back on the past year, all I can do is grin from ear to friggin' ear like a complete jackass. With the main trials and tribulations of the first year behind us, it was time to kick-back and have a helluva good time. And what a time it was ... and will continue to be for a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, SHORT, long, long, long, DONKEY, long, long, long, long time. Leonard_Shelby Supreme Chancellor and Thread Mutant for Life And now, to celebrate this joyous occasion, check out these testimonials from some BYS ‘oldbies’ … 2 years ago I found myself wondering why I even bothered with the JC boards. Nothing but a bunch of losers debating whether TPM was incredible or just an incredible crap pile. Sure every once in a while, you'd find a thread worth reading, but really most topics were all the same. Then one day I find a thread entitled "Yoda a different color" and my life changed forever. We all know the story. Finally those filled with humor were allowed to speak their minds....no matter how insane they may be. Friendships were formed, enemies were made, females were deflowered. (Well at least a Secura sister or two.) The next thing I know I have more posts in a week than I did in the entire time previous on the JC and the number of people watching me on the JC skyrocketed. Now I find myself entering a new phase of my life, but I always return to this place. A place that always manages to make a boring or gloomy day just a bit brighter and never fails to satisfy my daily need for lunacy. The names may change but this place remains the same. I am honored and humbled to have been a part in the creation of the BYS. It will always be my home on the net. I want to send out a heartfelt thank you to everyone here for making the BYS such a great place to be, but I also want to thank the other original co-founders. Specifically, Hector, DiMiT, Cheddar, Sysnooty, The Farce, and Ugly_Dookling. I miss them all. (Hector, I know you are still here bud) Without them, none of this would have been possible. ahby Darth_Envy The thing that impresses me the most about the BYS is how the BYS has progressed and evolved into something tangible from a few inane posts on a Star Wars messageboard. Considering the amount of turmoil ( internal conflicts, external conflicts, sock attacks) we've had, it's amazing that we've overcome them. I started reading the thread around the 19th of May and I posted a few times with my sock salty_yoda. I really got involved with the BYS on May 31st. I didn't necessarily want to be a member but I didn't want to stand back and watch all the crap in Comms go on without making a stand. Of course, taking a stand in defense of the BYS would eventually become my niche in the BYS. I've seen it all, good and bad. It's nice the rough days are over but it's disheartening to know most people have never read the old threads. Most of what makes us the BYS isn't located in BYS 1.0 any longer. Our foundation is there, but to truely know and to appreciate where we've come in such a short time is located in 2.0-this current thread. So, in closing, all I have to really say is that EVERYONE should read the old threads and our two year anniversary is a good occasion to do this. There is an assortment of great stuff located there, both good and bad. Salty Cyberloafing. A phenomenon affecting thousands and thousands in a world gone increasingly more and more e-oriented... in fact they say that for every one thousand employees with access to teh introweb U.S. employers are losing $3 million a year to this e-anomaly... laziness some say.. unmotivated good for nothing slackers... psssht dont buy it ppl - what they know that they dont want you to know is that cyberloafing is not simply the counterpart to your am coffee and donuts, its an actual physical bold and unprecedented e-statement of protest on the part of the underpaid underappreciated stuck in a 6x8 foot cube w/no natural light and nowhere to go for 40+hrs a week everyman (or woman). so if you're looking for a way to stick it to teh man - what better way to do it than to spend your time with stories, poems, pictures, discussions and all around spamarificness all in the name of the blue yoda but wait! [face_shocked] there's more we got your sanchez's, blades of grass, miguel's, monkey's, emu's and ostriches, sweaty's, gonky's, tequila babies, mystety's, steves and sallys, ketchup with ketchup chasers and many many more. so dont be afraid to come on down pull up a crappy lawnchair and crack open a nice e-can of pabst (or e-ketchup packet for those of you who swing that way you know who you are ) and let the stupidness flow through you ... in the words of darth_envy 'ludicrious beings are we not this sane matter'. the bys - insulting your intelligence one post at a time - it worked for me The Lurker It's amazing that it's been two years since the first posts of Chewycharmy... When I first read them on that day in May, 2002 I didn't know what to think. I figured it was just some guy being a moron just to get someone riled up.... hehe.... He sure did. I was still pretty new to the boards around the time of BYS 1.0.... I hadn't really made any friends yet, and I was really only interested in reading about Star Wars..... so I didn't post too much. What amazed me the most about the formation of the BYS was not so much Chewycharmy's posts, but how people took the ball and ran with it... It was really quite a phenomena... Darth Envy, Ugly Dookling, Hector and others became the ringleaders of this spiraling, online circus that seemed on the edge of teetering off the cliff. The humor... and the odd juxtoposition of creativity, macabre, and exagerated insanity were just my cup of tea... The Blue Yoda Society started as a "in your face" reaction to the far-to-serious-for-thier-own-good crowd that existed at the time in the 2SA, and it brought a great balance to the forum at the time. Over the last few years, the BYS has evolved and changed.... They were all necessary changes for the good and survival of the group, but I'll never forget those first few weeks after I read "I've seen the movie …" All Hail Blue Yoda! SPACEMONKEY20 What does the BYS mean to me? Hell ... it means alot of things. It means fun. It means creativity. It means good times. It means good friends. It means family. It means positivity. It means humor. It means loyalty. It means integrity. It means respect. It means selflessness. It means love. When I originally came to the BYS, I was drawn to the random humor and fun. I simply wanted to post and get along with the folks in the thread. I'm very happy that it has become much, much more than that. I feel very lucky to be part of this group. I also feel VERY lucky and blessed to have gotten to know the people in the group ... and I'm proud to call them my friends. ALL HAIL BLUE YODA!!! We all know he fights in the end of 2, where does the blue come in?? End of 2 or in the begining of 3. Chedder you have made some great comments, and i thank you for sticking by my opinion. The stick is just a stick yoda landed on when he fell into the swamp. It broke the little guys' fall. That stick saved yodas life, thats why he keeps it by his side. It is his life saver- no pun intended. Who ever fought yoda was inraged since the saber blended in with yoda. Yodas secret will be unlocked i know this. Yoda was revealed in the swamp, in the Empire strikes back. I heard he was sent there after the fight. After he found his stick, he began living there with little food, and little to drink. People wonder how he survived in the swamp. Its simple. Yoda has a little body, he doesnt need to eat alot of food to stay alive, an occasional berry and a leaf might be all the little guy needs. Furthermore the force helps him stay alive as well. As we all know yoda cant love, he has no heart. Hes a mutant, HE tended to skywalker because he was the only one that fell into the swamp. He was lonley and needed somehting to do. Yoda meeting skywalker was all a conisadence. Trust me it was. It makes perfect sense. I am done explaing for a while. My duty toward the explanation of yoda is done.
