	The JCC mods have had several requests over the last few weeks to start social and/or party threads. In order to accommodate the requests without inundating the forum with multiple threads, we are reinstituting the guidelines which were put in place during the heydey of social/party threads in the summer of 2002: If you would like to start a social/party thread, please PM one of the JCC moderators and your name will be added to a waiting list. Once a social/party thread has reached 5,000 posts, it will be locked to make way for the next thread on the list. A JCC moderator will PM the person who requested the thread so that they may start their thread. Should a social/party thread die and receive little or no posts over a two week period, it will be locked to make way for a new thread. If a user requests to make more than one thread, they will be put on the waiting list, but rotated with other individuals on the list in order to give everyone a chance at having a thread. Master_Fett - Request date 8/29/04 4. Darth_Snowball - Request date 10/2/04 Game Threads Since we're currently inundated with so many games here in the forum, we'd like to try to clean things up. To that end, we're instituting the following guidelines: Five game threads will be allowed in the forum at one time. Therefore, there will be only one version of a type of game allowed at one time (Name Game, Rating, Psychology, etc.). When that game thread reaches 10,000, it will be locked and a new game will be started. In the next 48 hours or so, we will start locking those game threads over 10,000 posts. 	Does that mean that various social threads will have something of an enforced hiatus after 5,000 posts? I recall that there was a list of about five longtime social threads that were considered "senior" or "protected" (something like that), and were only restarted at 5,000 threads. 	Does this include existing social threads or just new ones that haven't been started here? Do the social threads that are already established get locked for good after a 5,000th post. I'm talking about threads like the Jedi Outcasts, or the Geriatric Ward, or the Lightsiders, etc. The Fecal Force is kind of a central thread for all "gross" subjects. It has gotten to the point where anything even remotely gross is locked and directed to the Fecal Force. 	We're primarily talking about new social threads. The current ones I consider "grandfathered" in at this point. What we're trying to do here is prevent an onslaught of party/social threads that will simply clog up the front page. An example would be the Vaders Chambers thread. That is a purely social thread just to chat with other users. If someone wants to start a new social group "The Left Handed Users Society", they can PM a forum mod for approval. 	Vaders Chambers is a thread that's purely social/chat and not an organized social group. 	Example - I received a PM from a user that wanted to start a social thread with the "hive of scum and villany" thread. Being as it's a social chat thread and we had another one currently going, we didn't want to start having numerous "chat" threads inundating the forum. So, like in the summer of 2002, we allow one purely social/chatty thread at a time. If a user wants to start "Hermoine's Bar", they PM a forum mod and we put them on a list. When the current social thread is done, they're up to start theirs. The current social groups - DL's, Lightsiders, BYS, FF, EPC, etc, will not fall under this category. All we're doing is giving a system so that when someone wants to start a chatty thread, we can keep track of the requests in a more orderly fashion - much like the Game thread requests.
