This is an X-Men/Star Wars crossover. In X-Continuity, it is set around Uncanny #134-135; in other words, the climax of the Dark Phoenix Sage. In SW-continuity, this story takes place during the Battle of Endor. These two events are considered to have taken place at the same time.

“HEAR ME, X-MEN! NO LONGER AM I THE WOMAN YOU KNEW! I AM POWER, AND LIFE INCARNATE! NOW, AND FOREVER, I AM PHOENIX!”
With those words, the woman who was once Jean Grey took off into the sky. This was the second time she had said those very words to the people who had once been her friends and more. The X-Men, made of Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Colossus, and Nightcrawler stared after what was now Dark Phoenix.
The cosmic entity soared out of the Earth’s atmosphere, covering light-years in just seconds. Her travels brought her to D’Bari, an alien planet in the Shi’Ar galaxy, just a bit off from what the inhabitants of a galaxy far, far away called Wild Space.
<I’m famished,> Dark Phoenix thought, her red waist length hair flowing behind her despite the lack of air, and a fiery Phoenix effect surrounding her red costume. <I will need sustenance…ah, this star should do nicely>, indicating the primary star of the D’Bari system. Without another thought, she consumed the sun in its entirety, and moved along to other needs. Until a Shi’Ar star cruiser approached the now dead star system.
Inside the ship, a Shi’Ar commander, with a feathered headdress and brightly colored robes, began delivering orders. “Charge forward lasers! Destroy that…the Phoenix??”
But before his warning could be heard, a hotshot pilot fired at the Dark Phoenix, taking her off guard and launching her into a wormhole.
Elsewhere, a battle for freedom was being fought.
