	This is a co-oprative fic between Exploded-Girl and Nomad-2. We made a story about the various wars we've been having and here it is. Onboard the Warlock class destroyer Apollo things were finally getting back to normal after the rather large Interstellar Alliance signed a peace treaty with the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances. Out on the Galactic rim not much really mattered apart from seeing if any Shadows tried to get back into the galaxy. The warlock class destroyer was the best ship that Earth Force had built so far. Carrying two full squadrons of fighters and several support vessels it could handle almost any threat. The two squadrons of fighters assigned to the Apollo at the time were the Nabs and Twin Suns, both elite squadrons for an elite ship with Captain Susan Ivanova commanding. Two days into the patrol the first bad sign appeared. “Captain I’m picking up multiple distortion fields all around us” said Lt. Peter Corwin sitting at the sensor station. “Tell Nabs and Suns it looks like they get their action early.” Replied Ivanova “All hands this is the Captain, Battle stations I repeat battle stations this is not a drill. All pilots Scramble.” Down in the fighter bays two people were talking. “So Kauyon when do reckon we’ll get our first fight with the Shadows?” Arryn Fel daughter of Jaina and Jagged Fel, also cousin to Kauyon Fel, oh yeah and she’s 14! Just then the Captains announcement came through the docking bay, followed by the blaring of red alert klaxons. “Looks like you’re getting your action Arryn!” replied Kauyon; he’s 25. They separated and went to their respective squadrons Kauyon to Nabs and Arryn to Twin Suns. The fighters were loaded into their launch racks and deployed, the x-wings of Suns out of the main docking bay and the Thunderbolts of Nabs out of the fighter racks. All around the ship shadow vessels phased out of hyperspace and immediately began to attack the Apollo and her fighters. The shadow battlecrabs started to deploy their fighters, “What are those things?” “Cut the chatter Nabs 7.” Was Kauyons quick response. “All fighters this is Apollo your orders are to create a screen for the Apollo so we can jump to hyperspace, then follow us into the jump point.” “Roger that Captain” both Kauyon and Arryn replied. “Good hunting fighters!” Plasma bolts and laser blasts were flying everywhere, some hitting the shadow fighters, some not. Just then the Apollo shuddered as a direct hit sliced off its port missile battery. “Captain one more hit like that and we’ll lose gravity and end in Z-G!” “I’m quite aware of the consequences Lt., fire the aft batteries……Now” A bright red light erupted from just above the engine casing signalling the firing of the aft particle beam. “Captain jump engines are charged and ready to go!” “Have the fighters follow us into the jump point, jump on my mark.” There were a tense few seconds as the fighters flew in closer to the ship. “Jump!” A large orange swirling vortex opened up in front of the ship, the fighters, Apollo and White Star 117 disappeared into it. -----signature----- Exploded-Girl Nomad-2 Exploded-Nomad
