Plot Synopsis: This is the story of two young Jedi who are best friends. They and their master are sent to Tatooine in search of a deadly bounty hunter called Tropoluus. They are unaware that Darth Tyr, a former Jedi, and his master, Darth Xevious, are only using them to bring a legendary Sith lord back to life. Little do they know, they are walking right into a trap...

Disclaimer: As you know, George Lucas owns Star Wars (Duh). However, Yan Gloom, Akrab Yade, Culan Moonrester, Darth Tyr, Darth Letayn, and Tropoluus are my creation. I don't make any profit off of this, it's just a hobby.

THE LEGEND REBORN

Chapter One: Part One

In the Grand Jedi Temple on Coruscant, a grand selection of Jedi apprentices were being trained for the Sith War. Amongst these padawan learners were two of the more brilliant soon-to-be Jedi of all time. One was Akrab Yade. The other, Yan Gloom. These two Jedi had been selected at a rather old age to be trained. However, the Jedi Council would not let any young Jedi participate in the war until they were Jedi Knghts. They were ordered to stay in the Outer Rim, training in the ways of the force. Akrab was taken at six and Yan at seven. However, with the war, more and more children were being selected at older and older ages.

These two prodegi were best of friends throughout their few years in existance. Akrab was a male human not too tall, not too short, with a brilliant mind and lightning quick reflexes. Yan was a male human, who had an unbelievably high midiclorian count. His lightsaber skills were unmatched. He was about two inches shorter than his friend, Akrab. Both were assigned to Culan Moonrester, an honorable Twi'lek Jedi Master. He had led many Jedi to victory in numerous battles throughout the ongoing war.

As the two Jedi padawans flourished under the leadership of Culan Moonrester, the true nature of their character appeared. Akrab developed a sense of determination as powerful as any Jedi Knight. He was unwilling to lose a single duel of challange, and if he did, he was one to brood upon it, depending upon the person he was challenged by. For example, in his numerous practice duals with Yan (many of which he lost), he would often congratulate his friend. But, in a dual with a Sith, he was not one to give up until it wasn't physically possible for him to fight anymore. Akrab's intuition and sense of logic were also as developed as a Jedi Knight's, even though he was only a second-year apprentice.

Yan was an ambitious Padawan learner. However, he often gave into his anger and emotions. He often spent hours and hours honing his lightsaber skills. He was fond of his master and his fellow Padawan, Akrab Yade.

After two or three years of training in the tombs of fallen Jedi Knights on Hoth, Culan Moonrester agreed to take his two padawan learners on a mission to the dusty, desert planet of Tatooine to recover some stolen droid artifacts. Little did he know what dangers lay on Tatooine, just waiting to appear.

Chapter One: Part Two

"Come on, come on!", urged Yan as he anxiously waited by the modified Jedi cruiser, a ship designed to transport multiple Jedi to and from planets. It was a well armoured craft, with two main cannons and two ball turrets.

"We're going to be late!"

"We won't be late", assured Culan, who was busy checking the ships cargo bay area to make sure everything was packed for their misson to Tatooine. "Akrab, are the thrusters ready?"

"Yes, master", Akrab replied, wheeling out from under one of the trusters, wrench in his hand. Akrab had recently started studying spacecraft, as well as his Jedi skills. "Both thrusters seem fine."

"Now can we go?", Yan pleaded, jumping onto the loading ramp while pretending to swing an imaginary lightsaber. "I'm ready to go! I'm ready to slash something!"

"Easy, Yan, easy", Culan coaxed. "We're ready."

They suddenly took off. Before anyone knew it, they were in hyperspace. The stars suddenly turned to lines. Akrab hated hyperspace. The hyperspace rides were always extremely long and unbearably boring. He yawned as he daydreamed of one day becoming a Jedi Knight and single-handedly conquering the Sith. As he turned his head, he noticed that Yan was lying on the bed-couch asleep. Their master was sitting up, but snoring very loudly. Somewhere in the control room, a button beeped monotonously, which, after a while , really got on Akrab's nerves. He went to go see what the beeping was about, and when he came back, his face was unusually pale and his hands beginning to get cold, his nerves tensing up as well.

"Master Culan!", Akrab said quietly, but with a tone of urgency in his voice that awoke the snoring master immediatly.

"What's wrong, Akrab?", Culan said, noticing the paleness in Akrab's face and the stiffness in his body.

"We've got a problem," Akrab said, a bit unnecessarily. "One of the thrusters has suffered some major damage, maybe from an asteroid. We'll last about another five minutes before we slow out of hyperspace."

"So it'll take a bit longer to get to Tatooine," Culan said. "That's not a big problem."

"You're right," Akrab said, "but the territory we'll come out at has a heavy Sith presence. There's no way we'll pass through undetected if we're not in hyperspace."

"That would be a problem," Culan said, rising from his seat. Suddenly the trip through hyperspace was a bit more interesting.

Some small comments about using Joruus C'Baoth. One is that, if my recollection is correct, Joruus C'Baoth was a mad clone of a Jedi called Jorus C'Baoth. So if your character is meant to be the original Jedi, I think his name should probably be Jorus C'Baoth. Secondly, I don't think Jorus C'Baoth was a Sith War era Jedi. I think he was more contemporary with the Empire era.

When I wrote this, I wasn't aware that Jorus C'baoth was a character. I saw the name on supershadow and thought that it was something he made up. The Joruus in this story is a totally different person than Jrous C'baoth from the New Republic novels. Since Jorus C'baoth is already a character, I'm changing this guy's name to Culan Moonrester.

Chapter One: Part Three

"Akrab, you take these R2 units and head to the thruster housing room. I'll stay here to keep our ship under control."

"Yes, master," Akrab responded, opening a door and removing two R2 units, as well as a tool kit. "I'll see what I can do."

Akrab made his way to the back of the ship, where the thrusters were housed. The right thruster was vibrating violently. Akrab immediately noticed the problem: some wiring had come loose and was shaking and sparking.

"Good thing I got here when i did!", Akrab thought, "Or else this wire may have set the thruster ablaze."

"Beep-boo-boo-bop," one of the R2 droids beeped, while moving to the wire. The second R4 droid jooined him, and after a few seconds, they managed to refuse the wires to the circuit board. The thruster was still vibrating, and after a few minutes of inspection, Akrab noticed the problem.

"The thruster housing is giving in," Akrab realized. "I'll need to cut away this caving metal and replace it with a fresh piece.

Just at that moment, the ship lurched violently to the left, throwing Akrab into the metal frame, which caved at the weight of his body. The debris pinned Akrab down, so he couldn't do a thing as his master yelled "Sorry!" over the sound of the engines.

Just at that moment Yan burst through the door, a wild look on his face. Apparently the lurch threw him off his bed and out of his sleep. "What happened here?!" he exclaimed, noticing Akrab trapped under the thruster's metal housing.

"That lurch threw me into the thruster housing, and it collapsed on me," Akrab responded.

"I'll get Master Culan," Yan said, turning to leave.

"No!" Akrab cammanded. "Use your lightsaber to cut me out of here. Your saber skills are better than mine anyway."

"Okay," Yan said, turning to retrieve his lightsaber.

After a few quick strokes, Yan cut Akrab free from the casing. At that moment, Culan called to them "We've come out of hyperspace, and there are Sith ships everywhere. I'm going to need your help to defeat them."

Akrab and Yan dashed out of the thruster room and back through the ship to rejoin their master. When they got to the command room, Culan was expertly flipping switches and moving the throttle. "I'll need you two to man the ship's ball turrets!" their master shouted at them. "It's the only way we'll be able to hold them off!"

But Akrab and Yan never got to the ball turrets. As they dashed out of the command room, the ship gave another violent lurch and the engines died, along with the lights and the guns.

"We've lost all power!" Culan shouted, rushing out of the command room and rejoining his two padawans. "There's no way we can escape now. We just have to wait."

"But we can't wait!", Yan exclaimed. "The Sith will capture us!"

Meanwhile, Akrab remained quiet. He was thinking about what his master had said. Suddenly his eyes lit up. "Oh!" he said softly, looking at his master. "I get it!"

"Get what?", Yan asked, his voice quieting down a little.

"We're going to wait for the Sith to capture us," Akrab said slowly, making sure he fully understood the plan himself, "and then try to take over one of their ships to fly back to Coruscant."

"Exactly," Culan said, looking at Akrab with a small smile on his face.

"Oh, okay!," Yan exclaimed, regaining his former energy. "Bring 'em on!"

"Don't be so---," Culan started, before he was stopped in mid-sentence by a screeching sound from his left. Both the master and his two padawans knew what the sound was instantly. It was the sound of a boarding ramp being extended.

"They're here," Akrab said softly, looking at the door.

"Here we go," Yan said, looking at the door as well.

Chapter Two: Part One

The door opened. Behind it stood a Bothan of 6'5" or more holding an extended one-bladed lightsaber with a bright red blade. Beside him stood a fourteen-year-old Zabrak boy with dark robes and black and blue tatoos on his face. He held a double-edged lightsaber that had red-white blades extending out of both sides. He held it up, gloating.

"Yan! Akrab! Take the apprentice, I'll take the master. Do not give in to your emotions. May the force be with you." Culan suddenly drew his lightsaber and before the boys could even turn their head, he was attacking the Sith Lord. The two boys watched in awe as the green and red blades clashed almost to fast for their eyes to see. Yan noticed that the Sith apprentice was also watching. He took advantage of the boy's inattention and drew his blue-white bladed lightsaber. He charged at the boy with incredible speed. The boy suddenly back-flipped, kicking Yan in the jaw as he flew through the air. Yan stumbled backwards and fell over. Akrab noticed the fight between the two boys and drew his green bladed lightsaber. Akrab reached out in the force and used it to push the Sith apprentice a ways back, knocking him outside on the boarding ramp. The Sith quickly regained his balance and began attacking the two young Jedi. His lightsaber blocked every possible attack from the two of them. Akrab called on the force and yanked a chunk of metal off the railing and sent it flying at the Sith. The Sith didn't react quick enough and the chunk of metal whacked him in the head. Yan quickly jumped up and kicked the Sith, knocking him all the way across to the other side of the ramp and into the Sith Escort. The two were attacking him as soon as he regained his balance.

Meanwhile, Culan was having a difficult time with the Sith Lord. Already he had been dodging shots of lightning from the Sith's fingertips. He wouldn't hold out much longer if the battle kept going on this way. He needed a way to distract the Sith for a split second so he could regain his balance and think of a way out of this dual. Culan called upon the force to help him. He noticed a small gas canister over the Sith Lord's left shoulder. He immediately used the force to pull the gas canister between the Sith Lord and himself. The can exploded with one jolt of lightning from the Sith's fingertips, sending up a giant cloud of flame and smoke. This was his chance. Without wasting a second, Culan once called upon the force and leaped an incredible leap up to a ledge behind the Sith Lord's back. Immediately, the Sith turned around to face his Jedi foe, but instead was greeted with the green end of his foe's lightsaber.

The blow struck the Sith in his already battle-scarred face, leaving another mark. Culan called the lightsaber back, and as soon as he felt the metal handle in his grasp, he leaped once again, this time over the Sith and landing on a control panel. The Sith Lord shot another bolt of lightning, this time aimed for the control panel. Culan realized this a fraction of a second late, so even after his dive toward the Sith lord, the explosion blasted him to his knees.

"You cannot win," the Sith Lord cackled, shooting yet another bolt of lightning at Joruus. Culan managed to dive out of the way, and turned to face his Sith enemy. Culan made a fake move to his left, then jumped straight for the Sith Lord, lightsaber drawn and ready to strike. The Sith's response was unexpected, and it caught Culan off gaurd. He parried Culan's blow with a stroke of his own red-bladed saber. Their sabers danced and sparked, and neither opponent was willing to back down.

Cool story, Darth_Voltres! I look forward to more. happy

I do have one suggestion, though. You may want to separate your paragraphs, so they'll be easier to read (otherwise, it all looks like one big paragraph, and can be a strain to read for someone who has poor eyesight like me). For example, instead of:

You can do it like this:

And that way, your story will look a lot neater, and it will be easier to read.

Other than that, my interest is definitely peaked, and I await more. happy

Chapter Two: Part Two

Meanwhile, the battle between the three apprentices had shifted into the cockpit of the Sith Escort. The Sith apprentice was having a hard time handling two young Jedi. The three sabers continuously twirled and spun, showing amazing skill from the three boys. The Sith suddenly reached out his left hand and sent Akrab flying into a nearby window, knocking his green-white lightsaber from his left hand. Yan advanced on the Sith apprentice with amazing agility and skill. The young Sith was forced to use every technique he had ever learned just to stay alive. Yan knocked the Sith apprentice back, causing him to sumble backwards and fall over. Yan quickly sliced the boy's saber in half, sending one half of it to the other side of the room. Akrab finally regained his balance and rushed to join the fight. He halted as he watched Yan leap toward the young Sith, twirling his blue-white lightsaber. Akrab's eyes went wide as Yan shoved his lightsaber into the Sith's stomach, causing the Sith to lash out in pain.

The battle between Culan and the Sith lord was continuing the same way it had been. It had shifted into the passenger's room of the Jedi cruiser. Culan was clearly no match for the Sith Lord. Culan stabbed at the Sith lord's stomach, causing the Sith to backflip in order to evade the powerful jab. As soon as the Sith lord landed, he deactivated his red lightsaber and placed it on his belt. Immediately, he lifted up his hands and called on the force, causing the ceiling to crumble. Culan reacted quickly and slashed the rubble with his bright green bladed lightsaber. However, the Sith lord continued to crumble the ceiling. Culan, already exausted from battling the Sith lord, called on the force, begging it to give him strength. Finally, when he could stand it no more, he collapsed to the ground in a heap. The Sith lord laughed, retrieving his lightsaber from his belt.

"As you can see, Master Jedi," he spat the title, mockingly, "You are no match for a Sith lord!"

Culan looked up at the Bothan Sith lord's long, brown-bearded, rage-filled face. He saw no signs of remorse as the Sith lord continued to advance toward him, his lightsaber held high. Suddenly, as the Sith lord was about srike Culan with a killing blow, he saw a green-white blade go across the Sith lord's waist. The Sith grimaced in pain as he dropped his lightsaber to the floor. The Sith fell forward, his torso splitting in half. Behind him stood Akrab, smiling, proud of himself.

"Akrab!" Culan said, surprised as he stood to his feet. "I'm glad to see you're all right!" He put his arm around his apprentice. "Is Yan still in one piece?"

They both laughed as they walked toward the Sith Escort.

"He held his own." Akrab said, trying not to laugh.

Culan smiled. "It seems as though you did as well." Culan pulled his apprentice toward him as they walked, keeping him close to him.

Chapter Three: Part One

Yan smiled arrogantly as he pressed a small button on the ship's console, disabling the tractor beam, thereby freeing the Jedi Cruiser. Yan turned around to see his Master and his fellow initiate entering the cockpit of the Sith Escort. As the two approached the ship's console, Akrab sat down in the pilot's chair, letting off a tired sigh. Culan glared suspiciously at the Jedi Cruiser. He pressed a small button, causing a large, metallic hatch on the side of the Sith Escort to open.

The two boys watched as Culan fired two large, domed-faced cluster missiles at the Jedi Cruiser. The cruiser exploded in a huge ball of fire, leaving nothing but smoke. The ship lurched forward as Culan piloted the Sith Escort toward the surface of Tatooine. As they approached the surface, the ship began to rock.

"What's wrong?" Akrab asked, nervously.

"Sandstorm." Culan said, rolling his eyes.

Suddenly, the ship began to plunge toward the ground.

"Blast!" Culan muttered to himself. "Brace yourselves!"

Suddenly, the ship smashed into the ground, causing the three Jedi to fly forward into the cockpit window. As they hit the window, they fell to the ground. Culan stood up, pressing buttons on the navi-computer. He sighed deeply as he turned to look at his students.

"We won't be leaving for a while." Culan said, frowning.

"Why not?" Yan asked, anxiously.

"The impact of the crash destroyed our hyperdrive. We're nowhere near civilization." He began to walk toward the hatch of the Sith Escort.

"Our communications?" Akrab asked, hoping they could contact the Jedi to come help them.

"We have none." Culan sighed as he spoke. "Our transmitter was knocked out in the impact of the crash."

He pushed a small button, opening the hatch of the Sith escort.

"I'm going to look for help." Culan looked firmly at his young students. "Stay here. Do not leave the ship. I will return as soon as I can." He sighed. "May the force be with you." He said as he walked out the door, closing the hatch.

The two boys stared around the room, saying nothing. Yan looked over to see Akrab fast asleep in the pilot's chair. Yan cleared his mind as he began to meditate. He fell into deep meditation, remembering his past. As a Jedi, he was supposed to leave behind his past, but he couldn't help but remember his parents' death and the events that led him to become a Jedi. Six years ago, Yan, who at the time was seven years old, had been taken from his home planet of Dantooine to become a Jedi.

The Gloom family had been well-known on their home planet of Dantooine for being illustrious farmers. The youngest member of the Gloom family, Yan Gloom, was unlike the rest of his family. He had special powers. A seemingly simple farmboy, this young boy could see things before they happened. When Yan was only five, he had a vision of his father's death in the form of a dream. He continuously warned his father of his vision. "A dream is just a dream, my son." his father would say. Less than two weeks later, on a trip to the city, his father was consumed by a ferocious beast, called a Rancor. The family greived for the next few months. Yan was now was seven years old, and he had pretty much gotten over his father's death. However, he couldn't stand the thought of losing anyone else in his family. One day his mother, Ckae Gloom, took him outside their small, humble abode.

"Yan, I need you to take our new protocol droids to the city and have their memory erased." Yan quickly jumped in the red speeder. Before his mom could even say goodbye, Yan had taken off toward the city. His mother watched him as he left, knowing she would never see him again.

Meanwhile, a group of Jedi had landed on Dantooine in search for the Sith lord who supposedly lived there, Darth Letayn. The group consisted of six Jedi, but the most notable Jedi Master in the group was Culan Moonrester, a Twi'lek Jedi Master. He had pale pink skin, and sharp, shiny white fangs. Out of all the Jedi in the party, he was no doubt the wisest. The other five Jedi set out to search for Letayn, but Culan remained with their ship on the outskirts of the city. In the distance, he saw a jagged, rocky mountain. He felt the force telling him to go there. He quicky retrieved a swoop bike from inside the ship. He started it and took off toward the mountain.

Yan gazed in awe as he approached a large, jagged mountain. He'd never seen a mountain before, especially not one this big. As he got closer, he spotted three chunky, bearded Ugnaughts. They continuously waved at him, causing him to take his eyes off the road ahead. Suddenly, a laser blast hit his speeder, sending him and the droids flying toward the Ugnaughts. He landed roughly next to one of the Ugnaughts. He lay on the ground unconcious.

"Get the droids and let's get outta here!" One of the Ugnaughts said as he searched Yan for any credits or personal belongings. Quickly, the other Ugnaughts loaded the protocol droids onto their speeder. As the leader rolled Yan to the side, he heard a loud, humming sound coming from the north. He saw a swoop bike approaching at a great velocity. On it was a figure with a lightsaber in hand. The Ugnaught left Yan and ran toward their speeder.

"It's a Jedi!!" He screamed as one of the others started the speeder. "Get the heck outta here!!!!!" They took off into the distance, taking the droids with them.

Culan slammed on brakes as he noticed a small boy lying on the ground, unconcious. He jumped off of his swoop bike and ran over to the boy. He looked down at the boy, sensing that he was still alive. Suddenly, the boy's eyes opened. The boy had a puzzled look on his face.

"Where am I?" He asked, anxiously.

"You were in a dangerous situation, my young friend." He stuck his hand out. "I am Culan Moonrester, Jedi Master."

The boy shook his hand. "I'm Yan Gloom, boy."

Culan laughed as he helped Yan rise to his feet. He glared at the boy, sensing the force eminating strongly from within him.

"What is it?" Yan asked, curiously.

Culan continued to search Yan's very being.

"Come with me." Culan quickly said as he pulled Yan toward his swoop bike.

"Wait, sir. I have to go home to my family. They're expecting me." Yan boldly stated.

Culan smiled compassionately. "Yan, you have the traits and reflexes of a Jedi. If you come with me, I can personally train you."

Yan frowned. "I'd like to become a Jedi, but I can't leave my family."

Culan grimaced as he felt a a disturbance in the force like none he'd ever felt before. He felt, pain, suffering, death even. He heard someone cry out in death, but their scream was suddenly cut off by the sound of a lightsaber.

"Yan, where do you live?" Culan asked, troubled.

The look on the Jedi Master's face worried Yan. "Just north of here...why?"

"Show me the way there, quickly!" Culan exclaimed as he sat on his swoop bike.

"'What about--" Yan began to say.

"Hop on!" Culan quickly interrupted.

Culan stared in disbelief as they approached the flaming Gloom household. Yan's eyes began to fill with tears as he realized his house was in flames. Culan quickly slammed on brakes and leaped toward the small house. He proceeded to run toward the house when suddenly, it exploded in a huge ball of fire, sending him flying backward. Yan fell to the ground in tears. The shock of it all was just too much for him to bear. As Culan rose to his feet, he noticed someone standing in the rubble of the fallen house. Within the smoke of the explosion stood a tall, slender male human. He had long brown hair down his back and wore a short beard around his face. He wore brown robes, with a long, brown cape. In his right hand was an ignited lightsaber. It's blade was bright red.

"Letayn?" Culan asked in disbelief as he drew his lightsaber from his belt, igniting it's green-white blade.

"Oh no, my friend, lord Letayn is attending more pressing matters." He deactivated his lightsaber, placing it on his belt.

"Who are you?" Culan asked, almost angrily.

"I am Darth Tyr, Sith lord." He reactivated his lightsaber. "Now Jedi, flee while you still can!"

Suddenly, out of nowhere, came an odd looking starship. It seemed to be heading toward lord Tyr. Quicky, without haste, Tyr leaped an incredible leap into the open hatch of the unmarked starship. The starship zoomed away, leaving a trail of smoke behind it.

Culan turned around to see Yan on his knees, weeping. Feeling sorry for the boy, he walked over to him and put his arm around him.

"It's alright, Yan. There's nothing you could have done. You're lucky you left for the city when you did." Culan looked to see Yan staring him in the eye, tears running down his face.

"Please take me with you. I want to become a Jedi." Culan could see the pleading in the boy's eyes. Culan smiled.

"My young friend, if you come with me, I can promise you will become a Jedi."
