Title: The Beginning: The Legend of The Skywalker
Section: Prologue - Farewell
Authors: Brandon Rhea
Characters: Absalom Zachariah, Achab Tahrea, King Melchizedek
Timeframe: 100,000 BBY
Author Notes: This story is based off of The Book of Exodus from the Old Testament of the Bible and the stories of The Skywalker and Moses are very similar. If you are very into religion and you get offended over things such as this, I suggest you do not read any further. In terms of the Star Wars things that are in here, you will see names such as “The Skywalker” and terms such as “Ashla”, “Bogan” and “Jedi Bendu”. These were all names and terms found in George Lucas’ original Star Wars drafts and I have adapted them to fit this story. Also, this story is based in the same Alternative Star Wars Saga as two of my other works, Shadows of the Jedi: The Legend of Ussej Padric Bac and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Beginning. Brendan Whalberg, someone who was once on TF.N, also wrote a novel called “The Journal of the Whills” using Lucas’ original drafts with The Skywalker, etc.
Prologue Note: The prologue is based off of Jor-El and Lara sending baby Kal’El away from Krypton in Superman: The Movie. The latter half of the prophecy at the end of the prologue is based on the song “The Plague” from The Prince of Egypt.
Author's Other Writings: Shadows of the Jedi: The Legend of Ussej Padric Bac, Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Beginning, The Son of The Son.
Cover Note: Below is a cover for this novel. It's not so much as a cover as it is a movie poster, but you understand what I mean. The photographer of this photo is "cangazialem" of DeviantArt.Com and the name of the picture is "Waiting Moses". I take no copyright over this photograph. If there are rules against this, please let me know and I will remove the picture at once. The words were added by me in Microsoft Word of all places.

Prologue:
FAREWELL

Long ago, on the far away world of Ashlan Three, there lived a young married couple of one year. They were Jupiter and Ami of Ashlan Three, and for a time they were not the happiest a couple could be. Ami had been a prostitute, one of the few in the village and neighboring villages of their world. Jupiter would frequently have been a drunk, beating his wife after he discovered her with other men. But, as time went on, they eventually grew to love one another and conceived a child. They named him Absalom Zachariah, and even as an infant he was different from the rest.

Jupiter knew that his son was different, which pained him even more when he and his wife had to make the fateful decision to bid farewell to their newborn son, as they could not care for him. They knew he would have a better life on the nearby world of Had Abaddon, as they had heard stories of the planet’s kindness and riches. One night, Jupiter stole a small pod which he referred to as the “capsule of the stars” to take his son to Had Abaddon.

When the time was right, Ami placed her beloved son into the capsule and broke down in Jupiter’s arms. The thought of never seeing her son again was almost unbearable to her, and she did not know how she would be able to cope with the thought that they had abandoned him to be raised by a family that was not his.

“Do not fear for him, my wife,” Jupiter told him. “He will have a better life amongst the riches of Had Abbadon. You must always trust in that.”

“He will be alone, my love,” Ami said to him, saddened at the thought of her offspring’s loneliness. “How can we subject our child to that life?”

“He will not be alone,” Jupiter reassured her. “He will never be alone.”

They brought themselves into each other’s embrace, taking comfort through their love. Ami was blessed with newfound faith at that moment, trusting in her husband’s wisdom as he crouched down to see his son for the final time.

“You will travel far, my dear Absalom,” Jupiter whispered into the ear of his son. “But your mother and I will always have our place in your heart, just as you will always have a place in ours. You shall carry us inside of you forever and you will make our strength your own, you will make our resolve for a better life for you your own. You are destined for great things, my son. Life itself will see your journey through your eyes, and our divine father will bless you, one of his many sons, for that. In the end, you will join him in his kingdom but your work will never be finished. You will one day have a son, a son that will go on to great things. In that, the son will become the father and the father the son. This prophecy is all that I can pass with you, but it is not as near as important a gift as the gift you have received from your mother. You have received her love, her thirst for justice and her hopes for freedom. You will use these wisely, my son. I have....we have infinite faith in you. For all of our days and beyond, we will never stop loving you.”

A tear running down the eye of Jupiter, the loving parents stepped away as the space capitol slowly came to life. The primitive vessel would take some time to reach Had Abaddon, but he would be safe until then. His father knew that God would not allow him to be harmed, as his destiny would be greater than that.

After the vessel left, Ami gave herself much needed rest. However, Jupiter had no time for rest. He felt as if God was channeling himself through him, foretelling a great event in the life of Absalom Zachariah. Pulling a scroll and a writing utensil out of small basket, Jupiter fell to the floor and began writing down what would someday be one of the most important artifacts in history.

In a time of great chaos,
One man will rise up
And free his chosen people
Forever.

It would not be easy.
The journey would be long;
The journey would be difficult.
The traveler would be tempted
By both light and darkness.

In the end, good would prevail.
But to reach the exodus,
The traveler would realize
That the real test of a hero
Is knowing when the greater
Good would be served
By an evil act.

When the King would refuse
To free the Chosen People,
The traveler would unleash
Pestilence and plague
Into his house and into his bed;
Into the streams, into the streets;
Into the drinks, into the bread;
Into the animals, into the people;
Into the dreams, into sleep.

This would take place until
The King relented in his path
And freed the Chosen People.
Until then, the traveler
Would send the swarm
And send the horde
At the behest of the Lord.

Ok I just got a chance to read. Quite interesting. I'll stick around and see where you take this. I'm skeptical about the correlation with skywalker and moses.

I'm not into religion, so you needn't worry about offending my religious beliefs. I don't have any. With me, it's the opposite problem. One of the reasons I'm not religious is having found parts of the Bible to be morally offensive. Example: I'm hoping that you're not going to do anything resembling the plague on the first-born of Egypt.

Jupiter would frequently have been a drunk, beating his wife after he discovered her with other men. shock

Jupiter knew that his son was different, which pained him even more when he and his wife had to make the fateful decision to bid farewell to their newborn son, as they could not care for him.

In what way is their son different that they're not able to care for him?

There will be plagues similar to that of Moses, yet different, and the the plague on the first-born of Egypt will not be there.

I will be going into that later. That line is meant to be more of a teaser so you wonder what is to come.

I do hold the Bible and God's Word as set apart from anything else. I just have a hard time having it compared or correlated with other stories. i.e. lord of the rings and jesus

This is in no way an offense to me it just rubs me weird for some reason. I haven't quite nailed down the complete reasoning. I am still interested in the story and just keep wondering what you must do for a living that would allow you to have so much time to write! I am not that creative so I would be stumped for ideas.

I am always surprised by the fan fiction that I find on these boards and also find it fascinating, the ideas that people have.

Just by you telling me it's reflective to Moses and the bible my mind is putting the story in biblical times in some desert where everyone wheres goat skins, and i can't shake it from my head. laugh

But besides that I'm interested in where it's headed, i'll try and read it more Star Warsy from now on. Give some settings so i can picture those while i read, heh. =P

Also this is really creative I like whole prophetic/chosen one feel to it.
