	This is the other Padme/JarJar (slight) mush viggie-- Barefoot_XO and I kinda dared each other on these. This is humor and done for kicks! Don't lynch me. * Out Of Their Element * Padmé Amidala Naberrie, former Queen of the Naboo, sat in her new office in deliberately non-ceremonial attire, her billowing skirt billowing outwards on her dainty chair and her hands pressing into her cheeks in a pout. Sure, she was a qualified politician, but she had studied the political system of Naboo, not the Senate. She needed to learn how to read these alien faces on the Senate floor... normally, a new Senator would get advice from the last person to hold that position for his or her constituency, but now-Chancellor Palpatine was busy learning his own ropes. He had made himself notoriously unavailable to her when she asked... She felt unbalanced. Out of her element. "Miss Padmé, why you be looking this way? Yousa have a great honor today." Padmé looked up to see the last person she had expected... Jar Jar Binks, with a silly smile. He was just as out of his element as she, if not more so! But he must be used to it, she thought... he had been exiled from his home. "Jar Jar... I didn't expect you here. I had thought the Gungans had decided not to send anyone to the Senate." Jar Jar's grin split wider. "Nobody elsen wanted to come, Senator Padmé." Rapidly, his eye-stalks lowered and the corners of his wide bill turned down. "Theysa still think the Naboo was-a responsible for what happened to us." Padmé looked carefully at the Gungan. "And you don't? You wanted to come?" "Yes," Jar Jar said, nodding his head dangerously vigorously. "As soon as you called Otoh Gunga and wanted to know if we would send somebody to be a Gungan representative, longo time I wanted to come." "You resigned your comission in the Gungan army?" "Yes! Fighting, bad things kept happening, I'll tell you... meesa rather learn about theysa Jedi. Theysa based on Coruscant, lookey lookey!" Padme smiled. A Gungan that didn't like fighting and wanted to learn about politics and Jedi! Maybe he could help her understand an alien perspective, too... she had enough trouble understanding why anyone, like the Trade Federation, would start a war. Normally, such an understanding wasn't required of a Nubian queen... She had always been fascinated by Gungan culture, too. *** "So, Boss Nass accepted my challenge because to do otherwise would have made his seem like a coward, that's what you're saying?" Padmé took another sip of some Alderaanian beverage that got better with every drop. She had been assured that it was a delicacy but it had tasted like spoiled jura-berry juice at first. "Yessa, Miss Padmé. Exactically..." She couldn't help herself, she laughed herself silly. Whatever else Jar Jar was, he was funny. At the same time, Jar Jar had aimed his tongue right over her convulsed shoulder and toward a basket of pears on a table behind the sofa she was sitting on. As it came back, it brushed against her cheek. Both Padmé and Jar Jar looked up wide eyed, the gungan with his neck craned and his mouth slightly open. Then his eye-stalks perked up and the corners of his mouth followed. Padmé touched her hand to her cheek... 	Wow! Padme and Jar-Jar! I wonder how potent that Alderaani drink is...I feel sorry for both of them--being so far from where they are comfortable being. Well, at least they have one another! 	I didn't realize you 'd replied to this! Thanks... I was trying to keep it realistic as possible.
