	Title: Were it so easy Author: zonzo Timeframe: 26 ABY Characters: The Master Chief, J/k, L/M, H/L and many more. Summery: The Master Chief wakes up from a millennium of cryosleep, right in a battle between the New Republic and Yuuzhan Vong. Notes: I do not in any way own Star wars, Halo, or any of its characters. Were it so easy… Chapter one: Wake up Call --- “Commander, look at this!” One of the Yuuzhan Vong warriors yelled, looking at green armored man through the glass. “Bah, more infidel technology! Leave it there, the infidel warriors are advancing!” The Yuuzhan Vong commander said as he walked over toward the cryotube. “We have orders from the Warmaster himself! We are to meet the Jeedai in combat!” With that, the room of warriors gave out a battle cry and charged out of the room, into almost certain death. As they ran out of the room, a large explosion knocked one of the steel plates that made up the ceiling of the room loose, causing it to plummet down onto the glass coffin, shattering it. -- He opened his eyes to a mess of warnings and alarms. What have I gotten myself into this time, the Master Chief thought to himself as he pushed the steel plate off of him. “So, you’re still kicking.” A female voice said. A familiar voice. “Cortana. What’s going on?” The Chief asked. “I really don’t know. There were a few life forms in the vicinity a few minutes ago, but I guess they had a party they needed to be at.” Cortana replied. “We’d better get out of here, too. I’m detecting a lot of explosions.” “Right.” The Chief said, pulling himself out of the rusty cryotube and dashing out the door. -- What he came out into was truly something else. Starfighters were flying all around him, dropping bombs and dog fighting. He could see giant walkers pounding their way across the battlefield, crushing men under their feet. There were lasers and odd bug creatures flying everywhere. Out of one war and into another, the Chief grimaced. Distracted by what was happening over a mile away, he didn’t notice the group of Yuuzhan Vong approaching. It was the lead Warrior who noticed him first. “Infidel!” He screamed, charging the Master Chief, amphistaff drawn. He didn’t even have enough time to draw his pistol before the alien had tackled him to the ground. Trying his best to evade the blade heading straight for his chest, the Chief clamped onto the Yuuzhan Vong’s arm, holding it in place and momentarily, preserving his life. Or so he thought. What he at first thought to be a blade of some sort suddenly went limp, forming into a serpent. As the snake creature was about to lunge for his neck, the chief’s hand darted to his side, grabbing a knife. In one quick motion, he drove the blade though the alien’s helmet and into his skull, killing him instantly. He then swatted the snake creature off his chest and jumped to his feet, ready to fight the rest of the warriors. Except there weren’t any. There was nothing but smoldering bodies. “Hello, Friend.”A man said. The Chief quickly swiveled around to see a dark haired capped man, surrounded by a dozen troops. The chief quickly pulled out his pistol and aimed at the man. “Who are you? Where am I?” The Dark haired man looked surprised. “You don’t know where you are? This is Marathon. My name is Kyp Durron.” -----signature----- Awesomesause. New word of the year. 	The Master Chief wakes up from a millennium of cryosleep, right in a battle between the New Republic and Yuuzhan Vong. If that isn't a bad time to wake up, I don't know what is... 	I feel sorry for the Vong. An Actual Competent Soldier fighting the Vong... With that sorta Tech... What I want to see is Kyle and The Chief teaming up. Poor Vong then.
