That's fine with me. The good news is that I might almost have a way to get my own place, so we'll see.

Oh, and while I'm here again, Ni. Let's keep it going.

Fathom33, one question about my age. Why did you think I might be younger? Just curious. And Ni!

Cause you said your parents wouldnt let you watch Star Wars, so I thought you might still be under 18.

That makes sense, but since I still live with them, I am kind of obligated to obey them, even though I am obviously not.

No problem. Like I said, I was just curious. My feelings don't get hurt that easily.

Since this is a Star Wars site, how many times have you seen Episode III? 7 for me.

NI.

Sorry to jump in here like this.....I was raised in a family that had a solid church foundation (which I appreciate very much!) and I was married to a hypocritical religious woman (nutcase) for 13 yrs who tried to suppress anything that was fun. She hated my collecting, yet she could collect all the Precious Moments figurines she wanted. I guess what I am getting at is……you can be strong in your faith……but to suppress the fun things in life will only lead to depression and living a life un-fullfilled. I now have a new wife who has showed me the joys of what marriage is all about. When I was married to my previous wife I could not think of anything else of how miserable my life was. All she was worried about was how she would be viewed by the other church goers! Am I dressed right? Do I live in a big enough house? Is the car the right type? Do I shop for makeup where Tammy Faye’s does? Blah Blah Blah! It is enough to drive you nuts! I was fortunate to get a second chance in my life! Do not let yours slip you by…..enjoy this wonderful life that has been given to you! Treat others as you wish to be treated. Do not steal. Be honest to yourself and to others! Life will turn out wonderful!

REO Speedwagon said it best…..”Time for me to Fly” from the “You can Tuna Piano, but you can’t Tuna Fish” album

and Greg....jump in here anytime....you have wise words...tell us oh prince!

Oh yeah....NI

I have only seen It 3 times so far, unfortunately, but now that we have it on dvd, i plan on watching it quite a few more times.. whoo hoo. in the privacy of my own home... ha ha. wheeew.

Right on Jess. I agree 100%. Life is too short to be miserable all the time. Shoot, its short enough even when you have fun, but at least you will go out in a good light. grin

propgeek? Wise words of wisdom? Okaaaay...

"Mawwiage. That dweam within a dweam..." laugh NI!

Well, I'm not assuming that there are necessarily religious reasons for disdaining Star Wars or movies in general. I think the relevant issue here is respecting our parents, even after we're officially adults. I'm 42 years old and still try to honor my parents every opportunity I get. That never changes. Fortunately my parents do not condition their acceptance of me upon my absolute and total submission to them... well at least not any more. lol. Until I know any different, I will assume that people have what they believe are legitimate reasons for the kinds of restrictions they impose upon themselves and their offspring. I highly affirm Jason for respecting the convictions of his parents/current landlords. He obviously doesn't entirely agree with it, but he respects it, and for that I respect Jason.

But what Jess was saying-- that repressing our need for fun and recreation is tremendously unhealthy-- I quadruply reaffirm that! Also, allowing the expectations of others to rule my life. Not good! A lot of those stern religious people I used to let run my life, well, they just remind me of the Knights who say, "Ni." "We demand, we demand, we demand, and we'll alter the deal and make more demands, and you should pray that we don't alter it any further." All that ascetic religiosity ever did for me was to escalate my alcoholism. I lost a career, my mawwiage is in crisis, my faith is shaken, and I'm in a tough spot. But this trooping thing is helping me to loosen up, have some good clean (for the most part)fun, and make up for lost time. Second adolescence? You betcha, baby! Only I'm enjoying this one and hopefully growing up this time around. Though I hope that growing up doesn't mean leaving this all behind. That would break my heart! I hope I'm still making blasters and lightsabers when I'm in my seventies.

There.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
