Coming from the birthplace of hockey and playing it outdoors every winter as a kid and then watching my once beloved team move to all places..........Texas (grumbling in a low breath so kids looking a this won't understand me) and then getting another team that almost went to the Cup in their 3rd year of existance, I can only say, thank God hockey is back! And I can't wait till next season when the Scorpions will be less then 5 minutes from my front door!!!!!!! I already smell season tickets! Anyways, and I know some will laugh..................GO MINNESOTA WILD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Alexander Frolov scored two goals and newcomer Jeremy Roenick had three assists to help the Los Angeles Kings beat the Anaheim Mighty Ducks 4-2 on Saturday night in the preseason opener for both teams.
Roenick, making his Kings debut after joining the team in an offseason trade with Philadelphia, assisted on Mike Cammalleri's power-play goal midway through the second period and set up Frolov's two goals later in the period.
Craig Conroy also scored for the Kings.
ADVERTISEMENT
Jason Marshall gave Anaheim a 1-0 lead in the opening period. Shortly after the goal, Marshall was attacked by Kings forward Ken Belanger, who received 19 penalty minutes and a game misconduct.
Rookie Corey Perry added a goal late in the first to give Anaheim a 2-0 lead.
The teams combined for 36 penalties.

OOO An NHL thread! I could get used to this! hehe the guy I like is a goalie and he's in three leagues up in colorado. He also has an internship helping train one of the hockey teams. He's got a game tonight. I'm trying to get more into hockey (not so he'll like me more) but so when I go see him play if I'm ever up there I won't feel like a complete loser.
