Putting down my Vanity Fair magazine, taking another sip on my Bloody Mary, in the lounge chair by the sparkling pool of my favorite Palm Springs, California hotel, and looking up slightly at the faint hint of eau-de-snow that seems to be in the air for some reason.
Which is what I'd be doing, if I weren't at work. But next weekend...next weekend...when we take an extra day to celebrate the memory of two of our not-so-much-sucky Presidents, that's where I'll be.
It was 80 degrees here in L.A. yesterday. Sun, sun, sun. Just thought you'd like to know that. But we do expect rain shortly.
As far as hurling dung, it probably won't work -- half the state is heavily fertilized, so many parts of it smell like dung already, so none of us will even notice a difference.
Neither will dumping snow. A million people will immediately grab their boards and attack the snowpile with ferocious glee. Besides, "we already got some." In L.A. you can go from the beach to skiing in about 45 minutes...
And why all the Cali-hate? Look at Arizona, those guys are REALLY jerks

California is getting their own snow this year!! Hey, we always get snow in California every year. It just depends on what part of California you are in. It's only Southern California that is desert. Get into Northern California (where I used to live) into the mountains area and there is plenty of snow. Even Big Bear in Southern California has snow. And even here in the San Diego area (where I live now), go towards the east a few miles and there is snow in the desert. About 30 miles west of me it snows in the desert area. What was unusual this year was the snow at Malibu Beach and in Los Angeles. It was January of 1963 the last time L.A. had snow. I grew up 2 miles south of the snow line in North East California.
