Since my second viewing of my AOTC VHS tape, the audio portions (the music soundtrack in particular) have become seriously degraded. The music sounds quite distorted and out-of tune in quite a few scenes; anybody else experiencing this?

My damn SE tapes from five years ago sound better than this!!

Solution: Throw away that relic and join the DVD revolution.

Magnetic tape degrades EVERY time you use it. Sorry, but you get what you pay for.

I've got the DVD, but all I've got access to right now is a VCR. Besides, it shouldn't degrade this seriously after barely two months of being watched.

Have you tries a different player? Maybe you could try those video player cleaner things.

Are you 100% sure you havent been ripped off with an illegal copy?

No need to buy another. Take the tape back and demand a replacement. If the new tape is still faulty get yer money back cuz they are probably a dodgy batch.

...well, my DVD gets "stuck" right as the Star Wars logo comes on screen. After being frozen for several minutes, it plays normally the rest of the way through. This happens every time I watch it.

My VHS tape is the same way. (yeah yeah, I should only get DVD. But I don't have a dvd player for every room in the house, and the kiddies sometimes want to watch it before bed). Audio is attrocious! The music fades in and out, sometimes you can't even hear it! I never realized just how important John Williams' score was before. The movie is boring without it.

Not to mention the full-framed version sucks. The final shot of the movie is so beautiful, and they completely ruined it. Squeezing the image to fit the frame, so everything is tall and distorted. Just pathetic.
