Have you noticed...
Have you noticed that there are a ton of core ships from the Trade Federation on the grounds of Geonosis. If you didn't they are near where the Fett's land. But my question is
why there are so many, they only need two for the Death Star.Or are they just using them
for the Clone War?Or using them for both?
Share your thoughts on this...I will return...SOMETIME...

As Obi-Wan states "That's a strange consentration of Federations ships RF!" Those ships brought all the Reps from the guilds (Banking, Mining, TF) to meet with Dooku. Since it was a dirty out of the way bug planet they felt safe to land.
As for your other question there not going to recycle those ships into the DeathStar. The DeathStar is years away from being constructed, and I'm sure Palpy will use New metals for his toy. Also 2 Federation ship cores do not = the DS's size. Like Luke said there heading for that moon, so the DS is about the size of a small moon.

Yeah, Death Star I was about 120 kilometers in diameter. A Trade Federation ship (with the ring) is about 3 kilometers in diameter. No way two of them could make the Death Star.

The DS isn't just two TF ships welded together.

The Death Star is definitely not just two TF ships welded together. If it was, it'd just look like--
"Two balls! What is that? It looks just like an enormous--"
"Johnson!"
"Yes, sir?"

LOL, on a serious note they were probably down there because Nute Gungray and the Trade Federation wanted to feel safe and secure and since alot of bad things have happened to him hes paranoid without having constant heavy security around him and he wants alot of it there in case anything goes wrong, Neimodians are pathetic cowardly weaklings after all.

It seems that Geonosis was the HQ of the Confederancy, and so it is natural for the members to have a millitary presence there.
