You know what? That actually doesn't look too bad. Too bad they obviously didn't use ANY of that in the movie. Instead they got overweight people to swing a lightsaber back and forth, while standing still.

Because Asian people have developed the most advanced martial systems in the world over the centuries. It's ingrained in their culture. The vast majority learn at least some of it at a young age.
Consider also that Japan is only just out of it's Feudal Age. Compared to Europe, it is now in it's Middle Ages.
