Actually, getting back on topic.
Will it be a tragedy becaue of outside events...or will it be a tragedy because they are doing something forbidden.

[problem. if i get reconstructive surgery on one side [with implants, i'm guessing], it will be a different than the other one. then i have to get it on the other one as well. this is just nuts. lol that's an extremely painful surgery. takes massive narcotics to deal with and they send you home the same day, these days. not that i mind, cause i despise laying in a hospital bed. but if it takes this much to look good for the hubby, and he's even squeamish in the presence of a needle, what's that say about the imbalance in the male/female relational department? pain for physical beauty so you can be assured of a sexual partner? how much PAIN are we talking about here? i mean, give the ladies a break already. well, don't answer this, just chew on it and if you think you have an answer, let me know in a private message.]
And the subject is, Poor Anakin.

No I'm very glad you think scars are sexy.
That makes me feel somewhat better although I daresay having one acrossed my chest is not going to rank up there in the top twenty best places to have sexy scars. lol
I'm just glad you understand where I'm coming from and realize beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and most of it, is inside!

Hey, all you post-midnight posters, do you live on the West Coast like I do?
I love this discussion board, but not so much as to be posting at 4AM EST!

Scruffy,
I think you and I are the only ones left here. I'm up because the meds I take to alleviate various problems and the chemo, make me sleepy all different times of the night and day. Everyone else in my house is snoring...even the dogs and cat and sugar glider.

RE: **Official** Love Story discussion thread.
If you read my note as well- I said that SOME weight gain was to be expected. I figure 50-70 pounds of being overweight is not bad for age, kids or what ever. If you gain more than 100 pounds then you have a problem. Seriously. I also stressed the fact that this was NOT just for women and just for men.
If only it were that simple, but alas, that is a bit like telling a smoker to just stop picking up the cigarette. Things are a bit deeper and more complex than that. IF it was only a matter of will power there would be no weight problems. That is like telling an anorexic to just eat. Simple, obvious and totally wrong.
But as some one who has battled clinical depression and other issues I dont' care to go into here for most if not all of my adult life, I can tell you these things are rarely simple, nor do they have a simple cure. Those of us fighing those battles do not care to be up to our noses in platitudes and advice from someone who hasn't walked the walk. Its always much easier to judge someone when you haven't put any mileage in thier moccasins, but the person whose shared the fooware has a much better idea of how things really are.
And no I dont' hate you, and I appologize for comming off like the wicked B*Witch of the North, my chip fell off my shoulder.
I think it is safe to say there is a lot of crap and hard feelings on both sides of the fence. Some of it just and some of it not. And everybody has had more than their fair share of pain.

I would say probably a combination of both. There will be heck to pay when the truth comes out, plus our favorite arch villian is sure to be in the background manipulating people like peices on a chess board.

RE: **Official** Love Story discussion thread.
What do you think Typho was insinuating? Does he mean that he was afraid that Padme might fall for Anakin? I'm guessing that Typho knew that Anakin was interested in Padme judging by his reaction after Anakin said the you have grown more beautiful line.
I think Typho had worked with the Senator long enough to know how stubborn and independant she was. And after the apt scene he knew she was intersted in him also. They were birds of a feather in many ways. Sorta like a subtle **wink wink** between him and Obi Wan, that this could be a very bad idea. R2 just isn't going to cut it in the chaperone department.

RE: **Official** Love Story discussion thread.
I expected more emphasis on this part of the story based on what GL was telling us before they started filming it. I thought there was going to be this tragic love story theme to rival Titanic to attract a larger female audience
I would have loved more, but I imagine along with time constraints, he also had to balance it with the action part, keep the story moving, and well there was a lot to cover in 2.5 hours. I would have sat for 3 hours no problem, but other may not have, and the theatre's might not have liked that. And beyond that I have no idea what goes on in George's head sometimes. More love story would have been great in my personal opinion.

Good point. The love was actually somewhat realistic. You do say crazy things when you're in love. Like the line when Anakin says "I hated it in Tatooine. The sand was scratchy and irritating. I likeit here...Everything is smooth and he's rubbing her back...then they kiss and the music stops when padme says "no, you shouldn't have done that" It was actually good. The looks anakin and padme had on their faces was strong and emotional.

Welcome Mertroid.
And not just because I happen to agree with you. There are some who don't but hey, what fun is there in everybody having the same opinion. We'd have nothing to argue about.

RE: **Official** Love Story discussion thread.
Whoa! Heated debate while I was sleeping!
Just to get back on topic.
I decided to ask my sister (who is by no means a romance fan or a Hayden/Anakin fan) what she saw in the movie (and she's only seen it once, unlike me). I asked her if she thought Padme was falling for Anakin from the beginning, since many people claim to not see that. Her exact words were: "Heck, even
I
could see she was feeling one thing and doing another!"
Secondly, she also did not get the impression that Anakin was "stalking" Padme. This all made me feel a lot better, I was seriously starting to doubt my own opinions in this regard! LOL But my sis is the completely opposite of me, the romance of the movie was not her main interest (she's a Yoda-fan). What I'm trying to say is, if you DIDN'T see the chemistry/love/attraction or if you DID, most of it is as a result of your own perceptions about what love/attraction/chemistry is. No one will probably sway you of your opinion. As for me, I saw tonnes of chemistry and a lot of love from both sides. Sometimes what we DO is NOT a true reflection of how we feel--a lot of it is the result of what we perceive to be the rules society has slapped on us ito what is acceptable behaviour.
The fact that MANY people saw this love (even with just one viewing) says to me that it IS there to be seen for those who are open for it.

Zam,

I love your quote. It brightened up my morning.
