Welcome to the Jedi Council! I just wanted to ask you guys that before starting a new topic, try to check the first couple pages to see if there's already a topic similar to it where you can add your thoughts. There's a lot of new members coming in because of this little film, and having a lot of threads on the same topic clutters things up and makes people repeat themselves. So do us a favor and check to see if there's a nearby thread you can add to instead of making a new one.

Also, please check out the thread index, as it lists to a lot of the more popular threads on the various topics.

If you do start a topic that's already being discussed, a moderator may close it and direct you to the similar thread. Don't take offence at this! It's nothing personal, we're just trying to keep the place as orderly as we possibly can.

If you do make a thread, try to make the title convey the subject of your thread. "ANSWER THIS!" or "WHAT????" don't really tell people what the subject of the thread is. So try to make your subject clear so that more people will want to check it out.

Have fun. End of speech.

YJ edit: Added link to thread index

I realize there's an official new members thread but that's 50 pages long and buried somewhere. This is just to tell the new people about redundency.

I seem to remember a topic with this exact same name from a few months ago...

Before posting a new topic, also check out the following:
*** Index of Important Topics / Newbie Survival Thread***
AOTC Spoiler Forum: Links to Official Threads

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Why does Yoda need his cane after bouncing off the walls?
The general consensus is that Yoda only uses the Force when he needs to. He used the Force to be able to bounce around and fight Dooku, but doesn't use the Force for everyday things, such as walking around. Also, the floating chair he has isn't Force powered. If you listen closely, you can hear little motors humming during those scenes.

2. Why is Captain Typho (the head of Padme's security) a clone?
He isn't. The actor is Jay Laga'aia, a New Zealander. The actors for the clones are: Temuera Morrison (Jango Fett), Daneil Logan (Boba Fett, the 5 year old clones we see pushing buttons on some machines), and Bodie Taylor (the 10 year old clones who we see eating and sparring), all of whom are also from New Zealand.

3. Why didn't Jango Fett's head fall out of his helmet when Boba picked it up?
If you pay attention to the scene where Mace decaptitates Jango, you can see two shadows. One falls and is his helmet, and the other one (his head) falls off-screen.

4. Are the Stormtroopers clones?
We don't know for sure. In AOTC, they lost the "father" source for the clones. With the growth acceleration, there will need to be new batches made, unless the Stormtroopers in the Original Trilogy are all 40+ years old.

5. What is the difference between the film and the digital version of AOTC?
Aside from quality, the only difference is at the end of the film during the wedding scene. In the digital version, Anakin and Padme hold hands with both hands, including the robotic hand. In the film version, Padme doesn't touch the robotic hand.

6. Owen Lars is too old, isn't he?
Owen is Cliegg's son from his first marriage. Shmi isn't Owen's biological mother.

7. Why are there three headstones on Tatooine? Where are these in the Original Trilogy?
One headstone is for Shmi. The other one is probably for Cliegg's first wife (Owen's mother}. The reason behind the third one is unknown. There has been some speculation, but nothing definate. These aren't seen in the Original Trilogy because Owen and Beru probably removed them to keep Luke from asking questions about his past.

8. Are Palpatine and Sidious the same person?
We don't know for sure. They both are acted by Ian McDiarmid. You can find a lot of discussion on this topic at the following threads:
PROOF: Palpatine IS NOT Sidious. (lengthy proof)
Palpatine=Sidious ... its so obvious!

9. Where can I see 1138 in the movie?
Places where 1138 has supposedly been spotted. For those who don't know, Lucas likes to have 1138 appear in all of his movies, in honor of his movie THX-1138. None of these have been confirmed:
a. On a Clonetroopers back.
b. When Padme falls out of the gunship, it spells out 1138 in the sand where she falls.
c. On the back of the battle droid that Mace knocks down with his "behind-the-back" swipe of his saber.
d. When Jango & Obi-Wan have their asteroid field battle, watch the display that shows the Jedi starfighter when it jumps into the system. There's part of it that rapidly flashes between the Jedi/Republic symbol (the eight-pointed symbol) and three lines -- but it looked a lot like two ones and a three that are replaced by the 8-pointed Republic symbol, replaced by the 113 again.
e. During the scene where Anakin is riding the speeder bike across Tatooine, if you look at the rock formations in the background, there's some rocks in the shape of 1138.
f. When Zam's speeder is crashing, right before it hits the ground, the speeder drops through a holographic advertisement that is blue in color. The 1138 is written sideways and is attached to some Aurebesh text.
See the The *Offical* AOTC Bloopers and easter egg thread for the latest information.

10. Where can I hear the Wilhelm yell in the movie?
For those who don't know, the Wilhelm yell is a sound clip from an old western that Ben Burtt (sound designer) likes to use in every movie he works on. The Wilhelm yell can be heard in the opening explosion.
More information on the Wilhelm scream. Where to hear the Wilhelm scream in other movies

This isn't supposed to be a substitute for the other welcome thread. I just wanted to make one point about redundency.

I regret to announce that I do not exactly *love* you, PadmeBra.

Yes, good idea, I myself have posted many a redundant thread. Of course, my head is where it should be. (read my name)

I think I have a crush on you mostly for your swift locking of threads and your keen sense of organization

I think I need a much better life...

Wait?! There is redundancy in the threads?

So what your saying is that some of the threads are redundant?

Do you really think that some of the threads say the same thing as previous threads.
[/sarcasm]

PadmeBra, thanks for the quick locking and fast mod work.

Redundancy is to be expected. There are 250 pages of topics, and they are bound to be reapeated. No one wants to look through all that.
