Well I certainly found it helpful.
I'll be sure to pick this up once it comes out in paperback.

From Aaron's website:February 17, 2004: Next Up, Terminator Hunt and Deus Ex
My next novel will be Terminator Hunt, the follow-up to Terminator Dreams, and it will be followed by a trilogy of novels set in the world of the Deus Ex computer game series.
Terminator Hunt I look forward to. But I've never played Deus Ex -- could someone fill me in a little on the storyline of those games?

Does anyone know why there's a disturbing lack of Hobbie/Janson banter in the NJO?
I mean... Mr. Allston's SW books have been unpleasantly dark, as of late, and I'm kinda hoping Bugbite will be back soon to make the NJO more enjoyable...

Hello, Mr. Allston-
First of all, thank you for writing my favorite sw book (Starfighters of Adumar) and writing humorously, but not making the characters sound completely goofy. Even though Wes pulls pranks and jokes around, I know he can still be serious if the situation demands it.
Secondly, the only question I have as of now that I haven't noticed asked yet is: how and when does Gavin realize that Wedge is the pilot at the end of Rebel Stand? Is it when he hears him laugh, or does he just realize it's familiar laughter? What do you envision his reaction being?

He hasn't written them yet. They'll be coming out next year, I think.

Well, if you want to know about Deus Ex, Mas, here's the setup:
Near future. Heightened technology, though nothing too outlandish. Hulking Mechs, nano-machines, humans augmentated by said nanomachines, cypernetic limbs and other organs, and annoying mutant thingys.
US in the midst of a civil war with the NSF (National Seccesionist Force). US also attempting to deal with a massive plague outbreak (called 'The Grey Death') amongst the poorer parts of the nation. Terrorist groups popping up all over the world. New branch of the UN formed that takes extremely proactive (read: violent) steps in taking down said terrorists.
You play JC Denton, a nano-augmented new recruit for UNATCO (United Nations Anti-Terrorist COalition), the said new branch of the UN. You go on missions for them, a lotta crazy stuff happens, and just about every conspiracy theory ever concieved turns out to be true.
It's pretty damn groovy.

Terminator Hunt blurbage:A HUNT FOR THE TRUTH
A HUNT FOR SURVIVAL
Skynet, the most advanced artificial intelligence ever developed, has long since outstripped its human creators for deviousness, duplicity, and sheer ruthlessness.
In 2029, as the human Resistance inexorably pushes toward a victory over the machines, Skynet has a card to play that the Resistance can't counter. It can use one of the Resistance to betray all humanity.
When it snatches Paul Keeley, it uses his own instincts against him in a virtual reality simulation, in the form of a beautiful woman who wants to rescue him from the living hell of the future.
Unfortunately, that woman is a seductive, deadly Terminatrix. In Paul's virtual salvation lay the seeds of mankind's destruction, unless the Resistance can find key to unlock Paul's memory and hunt down the answers that will defeat the Terminatrix, the T-X, Skynet's most powerful weapon of all. . . . andRiding the crest of popularity following Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Hunt continues the action where Aaron Allston's first Teminator 3 novel, Terminator Dreams left off, with an exciting original story of John Connor, Kate Brewster, and the human Resistance battling Skynet and its deadly robots.
2029 A.D.: Paul Keeley is a member of the Resistance who died over a year ago-or so everyone thinks, until he awakens in a hospital room and stumbles out into a raging battle between John Connor's elite team of Hellhounds and a group of Skynet robots led by the deadly Terminatrix. Back at Home Plate, Resistance headquarters, members of the Resistance discover that Paul has been brainwashed by Skynet. Living in a computer-simulated dream of the twentieth century, Paul, an expert on twentieth century life, was being used as part of an effort to train the T-X terminator for a time jump. John and Kate have no way of knowing where the jump will occur, so to prevent it from happening at all, they launch a daring plan to use John Connor as bait to capture the T-X. Meanwhile, Paul remains under suspicion, since no one knows how the brainwashing may still affect him.
Capturing the T-X proves to be a deadly task with consequences nobody could foresee. The danger and suspense mount as Resistance action leads to an epic battle pitting human ingenuity and sheer courage against the coldblooded logic of machine intelligence. Fans of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines will not be disappointed.

And 'The Matrix' certainly didn't gather any inspiration from the 'Terminator' films. Oh no. Never.

I just watched T3 (I know it took me forever) and read Terminator Dreams I really enjoyed it. It's the first non-SW, non-school book I've read in months. I'm really psyched about the Deus Ex novels I loved Conspiracy on the PS2 and am planning to buy Invisible War on the PC.

I dont think I have seen Hobbie anywhere in the NJO and Janson doesnt show up, significantly at least, until Borleias. After Coruscant, be basically drops out again till practically half way through TUF and thats just barely a cameo

What was Hobbie doing during the NJO, anyway? D: I hadn't read the X-wing books before NJO, so I didn't actually know who he was and therefore didn't miss him. . . but yeah, now I do. Where was he?~
And Wes wasn't in it nearly enough. Definitely shouldn't have disappeared after Rebel Stand. D:

I finally got Terminator Dreams. I'm gonna have to wait 'til the summer to read it, though. I've gotta catch up on all these Clone Wars novels before ROTS comes out!
