A quick synopsis of Deus Ex: Invisible War for those interested.
Earth descended into total chaos after the events of the original Deus Ex, and is only now (a decade or two later) beginning to rebuild society. While the rich live in climate controlled, pristine "enclaves" and go to elite schools, the poor live in the slums of ruined cities and suffer from the effects of out of control nanotech "plagues." You play Alex, a "clone" of JC Denton (you have the option of being female even though JC is male) with a more advanced version of nanotechnology making you into a superhuman of sorts. Just like in the first game, you get pulled into a bunch of different conspiracies by various shadowy organizations - the Illuminati, the Knights Templar, the Omar (think the Borg, but less than half as militant), even JC himself tries to rope you in. They all want to do different things with nanotech - eradicate it, use it to create a new elite, "infect" everyone with it - and ultimately it's up to you to decide the fate of humanity. Slightly less paranoid than the first.

I definately could go for more novels from Allston pertaining to snubfighter units. He has completely mastered the art which can be seen in his four X-Wing novels. Not only can he acurately describe action sequences with such detail that you can view them in your mind (even if there is one hundred things going on), but his character development is PERFECT.
I've never felt as sad when reading as I did in Iron Fist when one of the Wraiths (who will remain nameless for those of you who haven't read it) has a long death sequence. Stackpole's X-Wing deaths never made me feel as emotional as Allstons and don't even get me started on his amazing ability to bring humor into his books. Wow! Enough said. We want more snubfighter books!!!

Any chance of some Legacy of the Force discussion? I, for one, am psyched Allston will be writing in the GFFA again.

Something would be seriously wrong if the Wraiths didnt appear at some point in LOTF. Especially given that Karen is a military sci-fi type as well.

Though this is 30+ years after the Wraiths began service. Perhaps they're retired or promoted by now (Face for Director of NRI )
