Funny you should mention the even and odd chaptering---I was reading a review saying just that not a minute ago before flipping here! That doesn't bother me, Son of Avonar did the now-and-before dance too, though the chapters were labelled as such.
I think I will get Talion, even if it's to see how Michael does fantasy.

My utilisation of complex locution to ask what's more pathetic, fans who worship their movie actors, or the actors who couldn't give a damn, is more a reflection of my own superincumbent mental actuity than any circumscribed lexicon. Don't you agree?

being the big Stackpole mark that I am... =)
Talion was very good - still probably my favorite book written by him. Longtime ago, in a galaxy far away - he was thinking of doing a sequel pending his latest books' sales.
Hope everyone is well

The last Stackpole books I read were The Secret Altas and Cartomancy - I really enjoyed them. That was about a year ago now, so I'm waiting for the new one. Stackpole should really keep his website up tp date, though, as I can't find any reference to the third one in that trilogy and know it should be coming out this year some time. Has anyone here read the Shadow Run anthology he did about Wolf and Raven? I ended up not reading it, as this may just be a British thing, or maybe a girl thing, but I just couldn't get into the stuff about baseball...so I stopped reading it. I've read the DragonCrown War series. They were excellent, even if they had to come all the way from Canada. (It's very difficult to find Stackpole's non-SW books in the UK, and I've been to different Waterstone's in different parts of the UK, thinking that I might find them.)
The Rogue Squadron books are my favourites, though.

I think he captures the spirit of Star Wars characters better than anyone else. Very cute little lines.

Is there any reason why Stackpole hasn't written a SW book since the Dark Tide duo?
I've heard rumors that he and the powers that be with Del Ray (or whowever does the books now) had a bit of a disagreement. True or not, thats just what I've heard. I do know that recently he has written a couple of books for the Battletech: Dark Age series.
Sorry if I'm gushing a bit here, but I'm new here. Ive always liked Mr. Stackpole for his various controbutions to some of my favorite universes other than Star Wars such as Battletech and Shadowrun. So far, he's written some of my favorite stories and characters in those universes.

Just wanted to say that I recently re-read I, Jedi for the book discussion thread over in Literature, and I loved it just as much as when it first came out. Maybe even more so. Your contributions to the EU are truly missed, Mr. Stackpole.

I've read the X-wing novels by Mike Stackpole many times and I love the plots. From the very first book you never know what's going to happen, but you also get hints and clues as to what Ysanne Isard is up to. I, Jedi was also very interesting because it delves into the mind and motivations of Corran Horn. As for the Dark Tide Duology, I liked the second book better because it featured Rogue Squadron more prominently. I hope Mr. Stackpole returns to write in the Star Wars universe again soon.
