That Amazon page lists CBK as a paperback, but I thought it was gonna be hardcover ...

Also lists it at 564 pages.

Paperback it is. Evidently the fanboy demographic didn't convince/coerce enough people to buy copies of the first couple paperbacks to make them think it's worth their money to upgrade to hardcover.

Really ? Wow, that's strange. It'll be weird buying it like that, although Ill admit that I wont mind saving the money.

Is it a traditional paperback or a trade ?

I'm pretty sure the first two Caine books were paperbacks only, too.

It's nice to be appreciated.

I checked in on the voting a few times while it was a sticky; I did start to become concerned after y'all had gotten to the top 20 without any of my books coming up.

Contrary to some mis-informed opinions, I actually do care whether or not people like my books.

Likewise you may have seen our followup "Top 100 EU Moments", where you got 5 in the Top 50, most notably "This is how Anakin Skywalker feels, forever." coming in at #12 and Ganner's last stand taking the top slot at #1- congrats!

I swear, if you start shooting "green, non-lethal Force Lightning" at us or something to express your love then I'm gonna find Genghis and unleash him or something... tongue

Also, holy [parental sex act] G-d...

Star Wars(r) Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor (Star Wars) by Matthew Stover (Hardcover - Sep 30, 2008)
Caine Black Knife by Matthew Woodring Stover (Paperback - Oct 14, 2008)

That may be the single, greatest, two week period of my life. I may have to take time off from work for that. I may also need to buy a lot more clean underwear. Unclear...

If we preorder CBK off of Amazon, does it arrive the day it's released, or is it shipped that day? If it's just shipped, screw it, I'm going to the bookstore for it.

Question: Who's your favorite 2008 Pres. candidate? If you don't have one, which is the one you hate the least? I've got a suspicion, but I'll wait to say my own after you've said yours.

Better to go to the bookstore anyway. If you buy it from the bookstore, it's a recorded sale at that store, and they're more likely to order more copies of the next book, whereas if you order online, a sale's a sale, but the bookstores, seeing that they haven't sold many copies of CBK, will not order as many copies of Matt's next book to stock, so they won't be on shelves for people to find and buy.

Not only that, but there's nothing like buying a brand new book as soon as it hits stores.

And then reading it that night and finishing it that night.

Personally Ive never done that, although I can see how someone can get so caught up in a book that they can read it cover to cover in a matter of hours. Not me, though; Ive always liked to savor a book that Ive really anticipated and enjoy it over the course of at least a week or so.
